To run a firmware update, the latest version of the NovaStar Nova LCT Software needs to be installed on the used computer. Furthermore, you need the suitable firmware files for your series. You find both on our homepage under “Buy LED Wall”. Click on the according series and select the downloads.
Prerequisites for working with Nova LCT: •
Install the Nova LCT software, if not already done. You find the installation file on our homepage. Run the installation completely to make sure that the USB drivers are being installed as well. Download the necessary RCFGX-files from our homepage as well and unzip them. You find the according files under the tab “Buy LED Wall”. Select the series and the file under “Downloads”.
Note: the Nova LCT software is only available for Windows. •
Make sure you have a working connection between your computer and the sending card resp. the controller (e.g. NovaStar VX6S) and the receiving card of the LED cabinets.
Note: in this manual we are working with a USB connection. Running a firmware update Step 1: Unzip the downloaded firmware-file. Open the Nova LCT software and log in under: “User” > “Advanced User login” (password: admin). Make sure all devices are connected. “Control Systems” needs to be followed by at least a “1” (with more devices of course a number that corresponds with the number of devices). If a “0” is displayed, there is no connection between computer and controller. In this case, check the USB-connection between the devices. Should there be no obvious problem, make sure that the USB-driver of the program was installed correctly. If this does not solve the problem, reinstall the program and make sure that the installation of the USB drivers has also been completed.
