Chief Editor Message where he shared insights and inspiration with members and senators. JCI Quatre Bornes members represented Mauritius at JCI events around the world, expanding their horizons and networking with other young leaders.
Dearest readers, What a year for JCI Quatre Bornes ! A year of impact, resilience, and hope that closes 2023. In a changing Mauritian landscape, the organization remained committed to its mission of empowering young people to create positive change in the community and the world. Let’s look back at what happened! Through its project, Rippling the Change, JCI Quatre Bornes has promoted social inclusion and empowered marginalized groups. We reiterated our support to young entrepreneurs through JCI Quatre Bornes’ Business Forum and promoted the inclusion and empowerment of women through martial arts. Our team engaged in the upskilling of members through workshops on public speaking, leadership as well as fostering JCI Quatre-Bornes’ future leaders through a training on JCI’s parliamentary procedures. We had that Quatre Bornes light shine all around the globe as we have welcomed JCI World Vice President to Mauritius,
In addition, the family got bigger as JCI Quatre-Bornes welcomed eight new aspiring members this year. We are excited to see what they will accomplish in the years to come and extend to them our warmest welcome. As we look ahead to 2024, JCI Quatre Bornes is more committed than ever to empowering young people to create positive change. While division is the easier path as it is coated by the comfort of an obscure silence, we must strive to find light in each other even in the darkest night and amongst the loudest crowds. I am confident that anything is achievable by working together, through empathy, truth and the strongest will to do better. In the spirit of JCI’s values and vision, may this last newsletter of the year be a call on all members, aspiring members and respected senators to continue striving for excellence and making a difference in the world. Let’s work together to create a better future for ourselves and for generations to come. Yours in JCI Spirits. Yann CHARLOTTE Chief editor of JCI Quatre Bornes' newsletter

JCI Quatre Bornes 2023: A Year of Achievements and Growth Dear JCI Quatre Bornes Members, Aspiring Members and Senators As we look back on the year 2023, I am honored to serve as your Local President, and I’m thrilled to share with you the remarkable journey we’ve undertaken together. This year, our primary focus was to advance our organization’s vision through a series of impactful projects, training initiatives, and mainly the successful finalization of JCI Quatre Bornes Audited Financial Summaries of the year 2020.
4
Our commitment to personal and professional growth was evident in the numerous training programs we organized. We aimed to empower our members with the skills and knowledge they need to excel not only within our organization but also in their careers and personal lives. These programs provided a platform for selfimprovement, fostering future leaders. My main focus and most important achievement for this year, was to complete the work that has been long pending and which would have put JCI Quatre Bornes in a bad position.

Message from Aspiring Member My reasons for joining JCI are as unwavering as my dedication to learning. In my ideal world, young people’s dreams would be supported, their potential would be realised, and they would have the ability to influence the course of history and create a better tomorrow. I identify with JCI’s objective since it is similar to mine. I want to be a change agent that inspires young people to take up leadership and volunteerism.
In a world where education is the beacon of enlightenment, I have dedicated my journey to shaping the future through the transformative power of learning. I have developed my talents in the field of education, concentrating on secondary and higher education levels, and I currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in International Business at the University of Mauritius and am pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational the Mauritius Institute of Education. In addition to my studies, I have worked for offshore corporations, overseeing the complex web of global business operations. As a sentinel in the tertiary education sector’s accrediting division right now, I weave excellence and quality into the foundation of educational institutions.
Outside of the workplace, volunteering gives me comfort and motivation because it allows me to see firsthand how group efforts may effect positive change. My love of hiking not only supports my physical health but also acts as a metaphor for my quest for mental and spiritual development. In my vision for JCI, I see a harmonious blend of youth empowerment, leadership development, and community engagement. Together, we shall be architects of transformation, crafting a world where every voice is heard, and every dream is achievable. We will light the way ahead with the sword of determination and the torch of knowledge. I am starting this adventure with a combination of passion and experience, a tapestry woven with knowledge and the desire to change things. Weave our aspirations into tangible existence, for strength resides in unity, and JCI harbours limitless potential. Khritisha DODHYBUL
