About Junior Chamber International Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global membership-based non-profit organization of young active citizens ages 18 to 40 who are dedicated to creating positive change in their communities. Through projects in more than 5,000 communities across more than 100 countries, members seek targeted solutions to local problems, creating a global impact. The JCI movement started on October 13, 1915 by one active citizen, Henry Giessenbier, who had a passion for positive change. Since then, millions of other young active citizens have united together to create sustainable impact in their community.

International Cooperation JCI is an international Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with active participation in the United Nations (UN) system. In this context, JCI has relations with the Office of the UN Secretary-General (Secretariat) and a Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
JCI has cooperation agreements with the UN Global Compact; the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); the UN Foundation; UN SDG Action Campaign; the Pan American Health Organization; the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGO); the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); AIESEC International; KIWANIS & etc.
International Events Each year, members from all over the globe come together at the JCI World Congress. At this event, JCI’ s critical mass of young people united to share experiences, understand the interconnectedness of our world and facilitate international cooperation.
JCI also hosts four regional conferences each year: Africa and the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific, the Americas, and Europe. At these conferences, JCI conducts its affairs, hosts trainings, and gives members the opportunities to address global issues and show their commitment to become socially responsible leaders.

JCI RISE The JCI RISE (Rebuild, Invest, Sustain, Evolve) initiative is a platform for JCI members to share ideas, best practices, and their unique efforts to sustain and rebuild economies around the world. JCI members have always prioritized understanding their communities to create sustainable solutions. When we partner with other organizations and sectors of society, we can re-imagine what the future could look like.

RISE will focus on three specific points:· 1. Investing time and resources to sustain and rebuild local economies. 2. Engaging and empowering the workforce through effective leadership and communication. 3. Acknowledging, understanding and creating solutions to the mental health impact COVID-19 had on the global population.
