ABOUT jci CENtury

Junior Chamber International Century (JCI Century) is a Local Organization of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. JCI Century aimed to be the leading entrepreneurship learning platform to cultivate more young entrepreneurs in the Johor Bahru community.

In 2019, JCI member David Lim Qi Chong and a number of his friends foreseen the needs of encouraging entrepreneurship among the young Johorean and fostering more local business in order to adapt to the rapid growing and development of Johor Bahru. They decided to set up a JCI local organization to feed the needs.

David Lim then sought the advice from 2019 National Vice President Wilson Ooi, he is also the Past President of JCI Iskandar. The Board of Directors of JCI Iskandar agreed to sponsor the establishment of a new local organization. Wilson Ooi became the Founder of this new organization, David Lim was assigned as the Protem Chairman and 2018 JCI Iskandar President YC Tam was appointed as the Charter Advisor to advise and assist in the establishment of this new organization.

JCI Century Protem Committee under the leadership of JCI member David Lim was formed in the first quarter of 2019. A series of projects and events in business and membership recruitment was organized including corporate visits, business sharing, e-business workshop, & business networking etc.

The first Annual General Meeting was held on 25th September 2019, National Vice President JCI Senator Jess Wong as the election chairman, together with Founder Wilson Ooi as the election committee conducted the first election. Protem Chairman JCI member David Lim was elected as the Charter President, JCI Century 1st Board of Directors were successfully born including Tang Zhen Fu, Ronald Term, Heng Wang Qianyou and Ivan Pang.

On the 10th of October 2019, Founder Wilson Ooi, Protem Chairman David Lim, together with 10 founding members attended the National Convention in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. During the General Assembly, JCI Century was successfully affiliated to JCI Malaysia under the witness of the National Board of Directors and 73 Local Organizations.
