My favorite flower is bird of paradise because it has really bright colors and I also like birds.

My favorite flower is lily of the valley because it's my birthday month flower and they're the prettiest flowers in minecraft.

My favorite flowers are hydrangeas because they look fluffy and soft and they have pretty colors.

My favorite flower is a tulip because they remind of spring and my mom.

My favorite flowers are sunflowers because I myself am the sun.

My favorite flowers are Delilahs. I love how the petals look and all the different colors, but the pink and purple are my favorite.

My favorite flowers are red roses or lilies, they are classics and my middle name is Rose.

My favorite flowers are hibiscus because they remind me of the tropics and attract hummingbird around the house!

My favorite flowers are water lilys because they look so satisfying and perfect when they bloom. HoangHoang

My favorite flowers are dandelions. They remind me of warm spring days when I would pick one to put behind my mother’s ear.

Dear Brier and Chloe, I'm taking several AP classes this year.... How should I study for my AP Exams?

Brier: I would recommend taking advantage of all the resources around you. Things like AP reviews with teachers or friends, reviewing AP Classroom, and even watching review videos on YouTube. The more you prepare the better and it is never too late to prepare.

Chloe: AP Exams can be hard, but being prepared definitely helps! AP Classroom has many study resources: they have review videos over specific course concepts and types of questions on the AP Exam. Also, finding a YouTube account that does reviews helps a lot. On the night before the exam, make sure you get enough sleep, and in the morning, eat a good breakfast!

April Fools

Favorite Pranks Favorite Pranks

April is National Poetry Month, and it was created in 1996 by the Academy of American Poets in order to highlight American poets and bring more attention to poetry. JC celebrates poetry month by having a poetry contest through the Library. Students submit poems to the librarians and they are featured on the announcements at lunch and are on display in the library.

Below is a poem written by Freshman Sophia Wormington.

I am no Damsel in distress

No woman in need of a young prince to save me

If anything

I’m the damned who does the distressing

I am not fragile like a blossom

I am fragile like a bomb

Or a piece of glass

One shard cuts through the skin

Just like butter

Drawing the blood

Of the men who try to

Erase me

Hurt me

Harass me

Silence me

Abuse me

Use me

I am not your little plaything

A toy you can donate when you’re done

You will not bring me down

With your petty words

No matter how many times you shout them

No matter how loud you get

I will survive

And lord help the man

Who doesn’t know how strong

A woman can be when someone does her wrong

I am no damsel in distress

Those cries?

They’re of anger

They’re of hatred

They’re of hope

They’re for the little girl who was silenced

The one who never knew a gentle hand

The one who had become accustomed to the anger

For me

Because I am no damsel in distress

Not a being to be confined to your boxes

I am the storm, the wildfire, the tempest

Unyielding and unbothered

No I will not calm down

No I will not sit down

You created this I will not shrink to fit your mold

No I will not stay quiet

The world will know of the shit you put me through

They will know of the scars I carry

The ones that broke me and fit me back together

A kaleidoscope of trauma and resilience

So hear now, the thunder in my voice

I am the sympathy of defiance

The anthem of choice

The phoenix, rising from the ashes of your despair

The embodiment of strength and grace

With every step I take

The Earth whimpers beneath my feet

Crown me not with flowers

But with stars

For I am the universe

I will not be restrained by your bars

When the world stops spinning

And all ceases to exist

I will rise undeterred

From the shadows, undismissed

with new Student Body President

Are you excited to be 24-25 Student Body president?

Being elected as the Student Body President for the 24-25 academic year is an incredibly exciting opportunity for me. This role has been a dream of mine since my middle school days. I've always been passionate about serving my school community, and to now have the chance to lead as president fills me with immense enthusiasm and determination.

How are you planning to improve the school as our student body president?

As Student Body President, I'm committed to implementing positive changes that enhance the overall school experience for my fellow students. One of our main initiatives is to introduce a juice, smoothie, and coffee bar on alternate Fridays throughout the school year. Additionally, we're working on extending the library's hours after school on specific days, providing students with more access to resources for studying and research.

Who inspired you the most to pursue this position?

My dad has always been my biggest inspiration and role model. He has consistently shown unwavering support for my endeavors, whether it was in dance, figure skating, or speech and debate. His dedication to being involved in my activities taught me the importance of engagement and finding fulfillment in everything I do.

Do you have any Tv shows, Books, or Movies?

I have an odd fascination for period dramas like Bridgerton, as well as any show or movie that involve royalty and historical figures.

How will this position help you pursue a successful future?

Serving as Student Body President provides me with invaluable experience in strategic planning, communication, and team leadership. These skills are essential for navigating future challenges and opportunities, whether in academia, career, or personal endeavors. By honing these abilities now, I'm laying a solid foundation for a successful and fulfilling future.

What are you Looking forward to most for your senior year?

Senior year holds numerous exciting experiences for me, from cheering on our football team with friends to participating in spirited events like Spirit Week. Painting my parking spot and having my own designated President's parking spot right in front of the school are special privileges that I eagerly anticipate, adding to the memorable moments of my final year of high school.

Samuel, Juror #6 says "Other people should get involved with theater because it is a beautiful piece of art when you are the one bringing a story to life and it is so moving when you've put time and effort into something."

Eden, Juror #2 says "The best part was seeing people's reactions to the play. It was really nice to see that people could connect with something we have all put a lot of time and effort into."

Kali, Juror #11 says "My favorite part of doing the play was getting to meet a bunch of new people, and getting out of my comfort zone to try something new."

Kyra, Juror #9 favorite line is "One doesn't talk about quality when murder is involved" - Juror #4. I think it is a fun and silly line in a more serious show from a serious character."
