We at JCDS lovingly remember our dear friend and poet, Lillian R. Freedman, z’’l, who passed away this May at the age of 98. She wrote her first poem on a flight to a wedding ceremony in 1978. Several times over the years, Lillian joyfully shared her works with lower school classes and Joanne’s Middle School English students.

A dream arises from the soul Fulfillment of one’s innermost thoughts What else can make one whole? A breeze, a wisp of air. A kiss, a touch, a clasp of hands? A realization of all that binds And brings the love that grips the mind.
