Kids’ Swim Boot Camp 4-14 yrs Swim, run, jump, climb, throw, giggle AND work out! Your child will be moving non-stop, guaranteeing an awesome workout. Program is suitable for children who can swim the length of the pool unaided, including swim team participants. Enrollment requires evaluation by Aquatics staff.

Jr. Jaws Swim Club 4-10 yrs Join our swim team transition program for younger swimmers who have graduated from the J Splash Academy and are interested in joining J Sharks. Swimmers continue to develop skills with instruction on stroke technique, endurance and sprint drills, and will be introduced to legal racing techniques including turns, starts and finishes.

GET FISHY WITH J SPLASH ACADEMY! MORE LEVELS, MORE CONFIDENCE, MORE FUN The J’s fun swim lesson program is a hit! J Splash Academy is an all-encompassing swim program, designed to create confident, strong, life-long swimmers of all ages, starting at six months.

Instructors are trained to offer compassion-based instruction, positive reinforcement and encouragement each step of the way. We have more opportunities for skill level progression, regular feedback and accomplishment awards.

Splash Academy consists of three broad areas: 1. Introduction to Water & Water Safety Skills 2. Basic Swimming Skills 3. Competitive Swimming Technique

Splash Academy LEVELS

Splash Babies______________________________________ 6 mos-3 yrs Parents learn basic skills and safety and teach infants, including putting their face in the water; blowing bubbles and being relaxed in a pool. Parent(s) are required to be in the water.

Starfish__________________________________ 3 yrs & up

Introduces basic water skills to children with little or no experience in a pool. Get in, get wet, and get comfortable.

Pufferfish

Builds upon performing Starfish skills independently and becoming more comfortable in the water with a focus on learning basic swimming survival.

Lionfish

Introduces strokes and kicks, with a focus on underwater breath control, kicking and pulling to create forward-motion swimming and inwater safety. Students must be able to perform all Starfish and Pufferfish skills independently.

Angelfish

Swimmers continue their development by learning and practicing beginner stokes, with an introduction to advanced strokes and kicks.

Instruction also includes diving and treading water techniques.

Stingrays

Swimmers refine skills on stroke techniques and proficient rotary breathing by practicing specific swimming and breathe control drills.

Hammerheads

Upon performing all strokes and dives proficiently, instruction focuses on distant and endurance swimming while introducing competitive swimming skills.

*Starfish-Angelfish will have a 4:1 student’s to instructor ratio. Stingrays and Hammerhead 6:1

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification 15 yrs and older You will learn skills that can be useful for a lifetime, as well as offer you the ability of becoming a professional lifeguard. Classes teach the duties and responsibilities of lifeguards, including how to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies and following procedures, all in a professional manner. Successful class completion certifies participant as an American Red Cross Lifeguard; and includes certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and AED. Prerequisites: • Swim 300 yards continuously using these strokes in order: 100 yards/front crawl; 100 yards/breaststroke; and 100 yards/front crawl or breaststroke or a combination. ° Must use rhythmic breathing with your face in the water and a

stabilizing, propellant kick.

• Swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to a minimum depth of seven feet, retrieve a 10 lb. object, return to surface, and swim back to starting point 1:40. ° Must hold the object with both hands with your face above water

while returning to start point.

A perfect part-time position!

Aquaglide Inflatable Sunday Fun All ages (must be able to swim in deep end)

We want you to have winter full of inflatable pool fun, so make sure you make your calendars for the first Sunday each month! You will slip, slide and possibly make a big splash as you conquer the J’s Aquaglide, the best inflated obstacle course on water! Race to the finish or just enjoy the challenge, while trying not to fall in! For your own safety, you must be able to swim in the deep end since the inflatable is so big. We can only offer this at our Marilyn Fox Building, so we’ll see you soon in Chesterfield.

Aquaglide Inflatable Birthday Pool Party 5-14 yrs

You will slip, slide, splash and laugh to your best birthday party ever! You and your friends can conquer the J’s own Aquaglide Challenge, the best inflated obstacle course on water! You and your friends can to race to the finish – and see who is left standing…or splashing. You must be able to swim in the deep end for this party. Parties include time in a party room and the pool. Must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance with a $75 nonrefundable deposit. Only available at our Chesterfield location.

Pool Birthday Party 1-14 yrs

Let the J pools make your birthday child stand out amongst his/her peers! Splash down with a memorable J Pool Party, that includes lifeguards supervising fun games and free swim. You also get a party room because we all need birthday cake, too, right! Reserve your party time now. Two-week minimum advanced reservation is required with a $75 non-refundable deposit.

Water group exercise is a fantastic way to complement your workout with a low-impact, high-cardio program.
