Pickleball Open Play
Catch Pickleball fever! This fun sport combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis in the gym. See what you can do with a paddle, plastic ball, and a slightly modified tennis net. All ages encouraged to check it out and join the fun. It is a very social game, mixed with competition, and great for all ages.
The J Associates is a women’s auxiliary whose mission includes raising funds to be allocated to several J departments for scholarships, programs and services. From infants to elderly, contributions go to delivering kosher meals to homebound seniors, Adult Day Services programming, Theatre Unlimited (an adult theater for those with disabilities) and various scholarships which offer opportunities for children to attend the J Early Childhood Center, J Day Camps and Camp Sabra, the J’s residential camp. St. Louis NORC, a program coordinated by the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, in partnership with the J, Jewish Family Services and Washington University Center for Aging, serves adults 60+ living in a designated service area. NORC benefits include a special J membership.

Many of our famous, admired heroes often hid their darkest side. Rediscover the fascinating history of three flawed, amazing figures, including Charles Lindbergh who showed great courage in his solo flight across the Atlantic. He became an international star, but his magnificent achievement would later be offset by his pro-Nazi stance and his bigamy. J. Edgar Hoover built the FBI into one of the most admired law enforcement agencies in the world while secretly increasing and abusing his personal power. Richard Nixon, a true American tragedy, rose to the highest pinnacle of political success only to resign the presidency in disgrace. Follow the rise and fall of these three intriguing and controversial figures and the marks, good and bad, that they made on history.

Beauty and the Beast _______________________________

Join us for a classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end, and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. Program is limited to 40 participants so register early!

Adult Day at the J (ADJ) offers full-day engagement where adults can maintain their independence and thrive in a caring and supportive environment. Respite for caregivers is a product of these offerings and may provide a reduction in stress knowing that your loved one is safe. Programming is created to engage participants in a variety of social, physical and cognitively stimulating activities, which include, but are not limited to, arts & crafts, cooking club, gardening club, music therapy and more.
Connections Adults
CONNECTIONS is a full-day program providing social, physical and cognitive stimulation for adults who may require more assistance during the day. Activities include daily exercise, therapeutic art, music therapy, sensory gardening, pet therapy, modified sports, Wii® games, iPad technology, small, specialized groups and intergenerational events.
• Escorted door-to-door transportation is available within a limited area
• Socialization, cognitive and physical stimulation
• Social work, care planning and other resources are available
• Nursing support, personal care, two meals and a snack included in daily program
• Caregiver support groups (see Caregiver Connections listing)
• Licensed by the State of Missouri as an Adult Day Program
• On-site licensed nurse for health management support
• Service funding may be available from the VA, Medicaid, DMH Medicaid Waiver, Aging Ahead and Private Pay options.

A trained facilitator leads our support groups that offer opportunities for people to share challenges, solutions and resources as we all seek support in navigating the stages of caregiving. All are welcome to join and care for family members may be available, but arrangements must be made in advance of each session.
The Cardinals Reminiscence League is open to Cards fans who would like to share baseball memories and learn about the history of our illustrious hometown team. New fans and those who simply enjoy talking baseball are invited to join in the conversation. This type of “sports reminiscence therapy” falls under the umbrella of socialization programs where those showing signs of dementia are able to engage with others who share their passion, and colorful memories may emerge.
Get IN! This innovative program, offered through Adult Day at the J, is for individuals 18+ with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. IN is designed to foster INdependence, INclusion, INgenuity and to INspire young adults with disabilities to work on personal goals and more.
