Doggie Pool Party 18 & older to bring a dog Dogs must be at least 6 months old Our Fox Building pool in Chesterfield is once again going to the dogs to celebrate the end of summer!

Join us for one final party but bring your pup along for some well-deserved pool time.

Well-mannered dogs are welcome with their human, up to two dogs per handler. Pups will receive a treat as they splash and doggie paddle through a fun afternoon.

Current tags and rabies vaccination records must be presented at sign-in.

“You Call It” Splash Class 3 yrs & older Create your own Splash Academy session. You choose the day and time and we will arrange the class specifically for your group! Children of a similar age and swimming ability recommended. Minimum four participants required; classes will maintain a 1:4 Instructor ratio.

Group Swim Lessons for Adults 18 yrs & older Have you wanted to learn to swim, but just felt you missed the bus, or that your too old to learn a new trick? Don’t be silly! The J is offering just the class to help you learn! We are offering an Adult group swim lesson. We want everyone to come as they are, no requirements or restrictions on this class. This is a shame free zone for all adults, all levels, any experience to come and learn. Come jump in with us!

Jr. Jaws Swim Club 4-10 yrs Join our swim team transition program for younger swimmers who have graduated from the J Splash Academy and are interested in joining J Sharks. Swimmers continue to develop skills with instruction on stroke technique, endurance and sprint drills, and will be introduced to legal racing techniques including turns, starts and finishes. No program 10/9.

J Sharks Swim Club 5-18 yrs Join the club! You will work to improve your time, strokes and endurance as you become part of this great team! Swimmers from both buildings compete in a fun meet and challenge for bragging rights. Participants must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke.

Kids’ Swim Boot Camp 4-14 yrs Swim, run, jump, climb, throw, giggle, workout! This class will have your child moving non-stop, guaranteeing an awesome workout. This program is suitable for children who can swim the length of the pool unaided all the way up to swim team participants. Enrollment requires evaluation by Aquatics staff.

GET FISHY WITH J SPLASH ACADEMY! MORE LEVELS, MORE CONFIDENCE, MORE FUN The J’s fun swim lesson program is a hit! J Splash Academy is an all-encompassing swim program, designed to create confident, strong, life-long swimmers of all ages, starting at six months.

Instructors are trained to offer compassion-based instruction, positive reinforcement and encouragement each step of the way. We have more opportunities for skill level progression, regular feedback and accomplishment awards.

Splash Academy consists of three broad areas: 1. Introduction to Water & Water Safety Skills 2. Basic Swimming Skills 3. Competitive Swimming Technique

MORE LEVELS + MORE CONFIDENCE = MORE FUN!

Splash Academy LEVELS Splash Babies 6 mos-3 yrs Parents learn basic skills and safety and teach infants, including putting their face in the water; blowing bubbles and being relaxed in a pool. Parent(s) are required to be in the water.

Starfish 3 yrs & up Introduces basic water skills to children with little or no experience in a pool. Get in, get wet, and get comfortable.

Pufferfish

Builds upon performing Starfish skills independently and becoming more comfortable in the water with a focus on learning basic swimming survival.

Lionfish

Introduces strokes and kicks, with a focus on underwater breath control, kicking and pulling to create forward-motion swimming and in-water safety. Students must be able to perform all Starfish and Pufferfish skills independently.

Angelfish

Swimmers continue their development by learning and practicing beginner stokes, with an introduction to advanced strokes and kicks. Instruction also includes diving and treading water techniques.

Stingrays

Swimmers refine skills on stroke techniques and proficient rotary breathing by practicing specific swimming and breathe control drills.

Hammerheads

Upon performing all strokes and dives proficiently, instruction focuses on distant and endurance swimming while introducing competitive swimming skills. *Starfish-Angelfish will have a 4:1 student’s to instructor ratio. Stingrays and Hammerhead 6:1 Register at jccstl.org

Let the J pools make your birthday child stand out amongst his/her peers! Make it a memorable J Pool Party, that includes lifeguards supervising fun games and free swim. Aquaglide Inflatable Birthday Pool Party 5-14 yrs

You will slip, slide, splash and laugh to the best birthday party ever! Can you conquer the Aquaglide Challenge, the best inflated obstacle course on water! Race to the finish – and see who is left standing…or splashing. You must be able to swim in the deep end for this party. Parties include a party room and pool time. Must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance with a $75 non-refundable deposit. Only available at our Chesterfield location.

Aquaglide Inflatable Fun All ages with swimming abilities

Head to the Fox Building’s indoor pool on the first Sunday each month for some inflatable pool fun! Our gigantic and challenging Aquaglide inflatable obstacle course will be up for you to slip, slide and splash your way to the end. Take advantage of those fall and winter months with indoor pool fun and hilarity. All users must be able to swim in deep water to participate.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification 15 yrs and older You will learn skills that can be useful for a lifetime, as well as offer you the ability of becoming a professional lifeguard. Classes teach the duties and responsibilities of lifeguards, including how to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies and following procedures, all in a professional manner. Successful class completion certifies participant as an American Red Cross Lifeguard; and includes certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and AED. Prerequisites: • Swim 300 yards continuously using these strokes in order: 100 yards/front crawl; 100 yards/breaststroke; and 100 yards/front crawl or breaststroke or a combination. ° Must use rhythmic breathing with your face in the water and a

stabilizing, propellant kick.

• Swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to a minimum depth of seven feet, retrieve a 10 lb. object, return to surface, and swim back to starting point 1:40. ° Must hold the object with both hands with your face above water

while returning to start point.
