Make the Most of Summertime at the JCC Ice-cream for dinner, pre-bedtime playground visits, lazy days at the pool… These are the making of summertime memories. Summertime offers young families unique opportunities to appreciate one another and the world around us. The longer days can encourage us to relax, to spend a few extra minutes outside, to add an extra story to our bedtime routine. Vacations from preschool can lead families to discover a favorite new spot for whiling away the days together. The Robert E. Loup JCC might be just that spot for your family. The JCC is a perennial summer favorite among Denver families. This summer, the Family Programs Department will continue to offer its popular Move and Learn program, in which caregivers and children bond with one another over art, music, tumbling, and yoga. The summer Move and Learn sessions are five weeks long, designed to accommodate the busy summer schedules of our families and if you register for both summer Move and Learn sessions by June 1, you can enjoy $15 off of your total registration fee.

always left for questions, informal conversations and snacks. The sunny summer weather allows us to hold one session of Bagels and Blocks outside in our shaded infant/toddler pool area, and what better way to prepare for a pool visit than with our new mom pamper day? New moms are invited to come to the JCC for manicures, pedicures, and minimassages. Bouncy seats, boppy pillows and extra arms for holding babies are provided. In addition to our classes, the JCC offers its fantastic outdoor pool, not only a cool haven from the summer heat, but also a spot where friendships are made and renewed over shared water toys and treats from the Snack Shack. Walk inside the building and you’ll immediately feel the energy provided by children of all ages attending Camp Shalom, Camp Shai or one of the JCC or MACC’s many specialty camps. The JCC is a great place to spend your time during the summer months. We hope you will sit down, put up your feet and let this issue of Chailights help you plan some special moments and memories for you and your family.

If you have an infant six months or younger at home, you won’t want to miss our Bagels and Blocks program. In Bagels and Blocks, moms with infants explore a variety of topics that are relevant to life with baby including nutrition, infant development, financial planning, and more. Local experts facilitate these meaningful discussions and time is

Herzl/RMHA – Learning for Life Herzl/RMHA provides Jewish identity, secular learning and a beautiful sense of confidence and pride in Judaism for our children. — Jodi & Chad Asarch, parents

As Denver’s only community, K-12 Jewish day school, Herzl/RMHA offers a unique model for wisdom and achievement by integrating high-quality college preparatory and Jewish education in an individualized, caring environment. We are still accepting applications in some grades for the 2010-11 school year. Contact Alana Story, director of admission, at 720-449-9550 or astory@dcje.org for a tour.
