Early Childhood Center Enriching the lives of the youngest members of our JCC community for 76 years the Early Childhood Center provides a nurturing and engaging experience for the whole family that will last a lifetime. We educate children ages 12 weeks through pre-kindergarten encouraging the development of each child’s inner resources: curiosity, creativity, imagination, independence, compassion and a love of learning.
The Early Childhood Center Schedule The ECC is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–6 p.m. and offers variable schedules to accommodate parents who work in and outside of the home. “Plus” classes in each age group allow parents the flexibility to enroll in a full-day, full-week, 12-month program. Nine-month classes close for winter and spring breaks. Interim programs are offered during this time and summer camp is offered in three-week increments during the summer months.
Curriculum Guided by the Jewish Community Center Association’s Early Learning Framework The new framework, Sheva, is organized by seven core elements, each grounded in early childhood research and best practices as well as in the study of ancient and contemporary texts and stories, using a Jewish lens to reveal universal values. The framework views children as constructivist learners, early childhood educators as professionals, environments as inspiration for inquiry, and families as engaged partners.

Teen Programs
What is the JCC Maccabi Teen Network?
Community Service (Tikkun Olam)
The JCC Maccabi Teen Network utilizes the wide array of resources the JCC has to offer to provide new and engaging programs geared specifically to teens in five areas of programming. The program provides both individual monthly events as well as on-going long term programs for middle school and high school students. In addition to a variety of program offerings, a dedicated space for teens has been created in the JCC’s Cooper Balcony.
We will be collaborating with community service organizations, other Jewish agencies, and youth groups to promote community engagement. As part of our mission to provide meaningful community service activities, teens will have the opportunity to participate in J-Serve, which is the annual day of service for Jewish youth throughout the world.
Leadership Health and Fitness Our health and fitness programs provide opportunities for teens to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle! The JCC Maccabi Games are at the heart of this program area. Athletes can spend a week with over 1500 Jewish teens from around the world competing in a variety of sports.
JCC Maccabi Teen Network will create and build strong leadership skills in teens that will enable the growth, evolution and sustainability of our teen program. We want to be known for raising awareness of the most prominent social issues affecting teens.
Israel Arts and Culture In an effort to encourage teens to become well-rounded young adults, the teen department will be offering cultural and Judaic programming that promotes intellectual development through the arts, film, theatre, literature, and music. JCC Maccabi ArtsFest will allow teens to showcase their talents and view Judaism through an artistic lens.

TEEN PROGRAMS

Adult Programming JFS at the JCC, Colorado Senior Connections In an effort to streamline and strengthen senior services in the Jewish community, Jewish Family Service (JFS) and the Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC) teamed up to provide social, recreational, educational, and health programming to older adults. The programs mainly take place at the JCC under the name of “JFS at the JCC Colorado Senior Connections” and include all of the programs you have grown to love. Older adults have an active voice in determining programming and activities and, an advisory committee, made up of participants 60 and older, meet regularly to discuss any and all changes. Information on programs and events are listed in From Oy to Joy, on both the JCC and JFS websites and in both organizations’ e-newsletters. Thank you to the partners of this program: Jewish Family Service, Jewish Community Center, Shalom Cares, and Allied Jewish Apartments for coming together to keep our community united.

Kabbalah Experience for Adults Soul: Introduction to Unseen Reality Have you heard of Kabbalah but are wondering what all the fuss is? Kabbalah Experience (KE), a local Denver institute of Jewish spiritual learning, is offering its first-year curriculum at the JCC. The beginning classes challenge learners to see themselves and reality in a new light and put these insights into practical use. We discuss the Kabbalah’s perspective on the spiritual dimension of life and how spiritual reality operates parallel to physical reality. Topics include creation of the world, connecting at the level of souls and miracles re-interpreted through the Kabbalah.
For a complete description of classes and the entire first year curriculum offered by Kabbalah Experience, visit www.kabbalahexperience.com or call the KE office at (303) 758-8996.

JCC/MACC
Kosher Policy The JCC is kosher facility supervised by the TRI Sulom of Denver. Any lunches or snacks brought to the Center by program participants and visitors should be meat free.
Children with Special Needs The JCC and MACC strive to enhance the lives of children and teens with special needs by providing opportunities to participate in JCC/MACC life to the fullest extent of their ability. Many of our programs welcome children with special needs. These opportunities include a lift in the indoor swimming pool, special fitness classes and camping experiences.
Welcoming and Accessible to All In ensuring that the JCC facility is welcoming of and accessible to all, the Center encourages people with disabilities to participate fully in its programs and to make their needs known to JCC management. The physical structure of the facility promotes accessibility through the use of ramps, elevators, wide aisles, doorways and seating. The management is eager to make further improvement, whenever possible, to ensure even greater access. It is the Center’s contention that, without exclusion, all members, guests and users of the JCC should be empowered with opportunities and choice, and should be included in every aspect of community life as it manifests at the JCC.
