4. Donna Heinzelmann, 430 Brook Manor Ct. (Falls of Autry Mill)

This Falls of Autrey Mill backyard features five small perennial gardens all designed, planted, and maintained by the homeowner’s avid gardener. As you step down a flight of stairs into the backyard, you will be taken by the beautiful displays of hostas, ferns, heuchera, Solomon’s seal, and other shade-loving perennials all against a backdrop of ivy-covered walls reminiscent of a classic English estate. The yard is whimsical with statuary throughout. There is an infinity pool with a woodland backdrop behind it and a garden filled with hydrangeas, ferns, and gardenias. The home backs up to the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve.

Established in 2007, JCB spent its early years setting down roots with the newly formed City of Johns Creek by leading the charge to beautify the Medlock and State Bridge corridors, donating tree saplings to Northview High School and local neigbhoods, paving the way for public art installations, and by navigating funding processes for future projects.
In 2015 JCB created the public art subcommittee, ArtSpot. ArtSpot sponsored a two-year temporary sculpture display throughout the city. For 2018 JCB launched its wildly successful city-wide garden tour, Secret Gardens of Johns Creek, creating a multi-generational, culturally diverse outdoor community event. In 2019 JCB partnered with Autry Mill Nature Preserve to expand the Garden Tour to include educational elements and native woodland gardens. New for October 2019 will be the launch of Daffodils4Hope, a partnership with CanCare to support cancer survivorship. JCB hopes you’ll join them in October for the first official planting of daffodil beds for cancer awareness and support at Newtown Park and other serene sites around the City of Johns Creek. www.JohnsCreekBeautification.org 15
