Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations; I am exalted in the earth

BE STILL

Life has a way of pulling us in many directions at once. Responsibilities, worries, and unexpected challenges can leave our minds racing and our hearts unsettled. In the middle of all that noise, God gives a simple yet powerful command: be still.

Being still is more than physical quietness—it is a posture of trust. It means releasing control, letting go of anxiety, and choosing to rest in who God is. When we are still, we acknowledge that God is sovereign, that God is greater than our circumstances, and that God is already working on our behalf. Stillness does not mean nothing is happening; it means trusting that God is handling what we cannot see. In that quiet place, we begin to recognize God’s voice more clearly, feel God’s peace more deeply, and remember that we are never alone.

Whatever you are facing today, take a moment to pause. Breathe. Surrender it to God. Let God’s presence settle your heart and remind you: God is God, and God is in control.

Pray: God, help me to be still in the midst of everything around me. Quiet my thoughts, calm my heart, and teach me to trust you more.

Exodus 14:14

The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.

ASSURANCE FROM GOD

When the Israelites were fleeing from Egypt and standing before the Red Sea, fear overwhelmed them as Pharaoh’s army pursued. Yet in that frightening moment, God gave them assurance through Moses: “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still” (Exodus 14:14). Their deliverance was not based on their own strength, but on their willingness to trust and obey God. As they followed God’s instruction, the sea was parted, dry land appeared, and God made a way where there seemed to be none.

This story reminds us that God still fights for God’s people today. When we face battles too great for us, we do not have to live in fear or despair. Instead, we are called to trust God, obey God’s guidance, and believe that God’s power is greater than any obstacle. The same God who made a way for the Israelites is still able to make a way for us. When challenges arise, we can stand firm, knowing that God is faithful.

Pray: God, strengthen my faith when fear rises, help me stand still in trust, and remind me that you are fighting for me.

RPsalm 118:24

This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

TODAY CHOOSE JOY

No matter what this day holds, I will not approach it with hesitation or fear, I will step into it with purpose. This day is not random; it is crafted by God, filled with opportunities to grow, to love, and to walk in strength. I may not control every moment, but I can control my mindset. I choose to rejoice, not because everything is easy, but because God is good.

When challenges come, I will remember that this day is still a gift. When frustrations rise, I will answer with gratitude. I refuse to let negativity take root in a day that God has already blessed. Joy is my decision. Peace is my posture. Faith is my foundation.

I am determined: I will have a good day because I trust the one who made it.

Pray: Lord, thank you for this day that you have made. Help me to walk in joy, no matter what comes my way.

Deuteronomy 4:29

From there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find him if you search after him with all your heart and soul.

SEEK THE FACE OF GOD (PART 1)

As a child living with my grandmother, I remember two pictures of Jesus in her home. One was of the Last Supper, and the other was a picture that seemed to change depending on how I looked at it. Up close, Jesus was on the cross. Stepping back, it appeared as though Jesus came down from the cross. I was fascinated and often returned to that picture, amazed. At the time, I did not understand how important it was that Jesus stayed on the cross. I did not yet know that through that sacrifice, Jesus redeemed humanity, bore our sins, and through the resurrection, conquered death so we might have everlasting life.

As I grew, I came to understand the depth of God’s love and the power of redemption. I thank God for faithful spiritual leaders who remind us who we are in Christ—God’s ambassadors, a royal priesthood, children of the Most High, and members of one family. As God’s family, we are called to seek God’s face together through prayer, studying God’s Word, fellowship, and gathering in unity. Together, we are strengthened, encouraged, and sharpened. May we continue supporting one another as we seek God’s face as one body in Christ.

Pray: God, thank you for your sacrifice, your love, and for continually calling us closer as we seek your face together. .

James 4:8

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

BEING INTIMATE WITH GOD (PART 2)

As I grow in God’s Word, a deeper love for God continues to form in my heart. Intimacy with God is unlike any other relationship because it is rooted in grace, truth, healing, and transformation. When I reflect on God’s sacrifice, mercy, and faithfulness, my heart overflows with gratitude. God has delivered me, restored me, and freed me from burdens I carried for years. In God’s presence, I found the courage to come fully exposed—honest, vulnerable, and trusting in divine mercy.

Like David, I had to ask God to create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Like Moses, I had to approach God with reverence and humility. Intimacy with God requires surrender. It means allowing God to heal hidden wounds, restore broken places, and remind us that we are loved beyond measure. In God’s presence, there is peace, joy, cleansing, and freedom. God welcomes us, restores us, and never turns away a repentant heart. This relationship with God is not temporary—it is sustaining, life-giving, and eternal. The closer we walk with God, the more we learn God’s heart, character, and unfailing love.

Pray: God, thank you for welcoming me with grace, cleansing me with mercy, and drawing me into deeper intimacy with you each day.

Psalm 27:4

One thing I asked of the Lord; this I seek: to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.

STAY IN THE FACE OF GOD (PART 3)

When I was young, I often called on the name of Jesus because it was what I heard most from my grandmother’s prayers. At the time, I did not fully understand God’s sovereignty, power, or character. But as I matured, I came to know God more deeply—not only by name, but by nature. God is Creator, Provider, Healer, Peace, and Everlasting One. Knowing God requires more than casual acknowledgment; it requires intentional relationship.

To stay in the face of God means remaining committed to knowing God through prayer, studying God’s Word, praise, obedience, trust, and faith. It means pursuing God’s heart daily and allowing that pursuit to shape our own hearts. Relationship with God is not passive—it is active, personal, and transformative. As we seek God sincerely, we grow in understanding, wisdom, and spiritual maturity. Staying close to God keeps us grounded, teaches us God’s ways, and strengthens us for life’s journey. When we seek God with a clean heart and an open spirit, God is faithful to guide us.

Pray: Lord, renew my mind, deepen my heart, and teach me to remain close to you as I seek your face daily.

Psalm 46:1–2

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

1 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea, 2

STEADY IN THE STORM

Life can feel especially heavy when you are carrying not only your own struggles, but also the weight of history, family, and community. For many in the Black church, faith has never been separate from hardship—it has been the very thing that carried generations through it. From songs sung in sorrow to prayers whispered in weary moments, God has always met God’s people in the chaos.

Even now, when life feels uncertain and overwhelming, that same God remains present. God is still a refuge—not just in peaceful seasons, but right in the middle of the storm. The chaos around you does not cancel the calling on your life or the promises spoken over you.

There is strength and even joy in remembering that you are part of a legacy of resilience. When things feel out of control, you can stand on the same faith that sustained those before you. You do not have to have all the answers—you just have to stay anchored.

Take a moment today to breathe, to pray, and to remember: God is with you. The storm may be loud, but God’s presence is louder.

Pray: Lord, you have been our shelter through every generation. In times when life feels overwhelming, remind me of the strength you have placed within me and the legacy I come from.

Proverbs 18:16

A gift opens doors; it gives access to the great.

UNWRAP YOUR GIFT

I just love God! I thank God for goodness and mercy. I praise God for all the blessings poured out on us. Jeremiah 1:5 reminds us that we have been set apart. God has blessed each of us with unique gifts and talents to be used to bless others, build up God’s kingdom, and glorify God.

It took me a long time to recognize and understand my gift. I grew up in the 1980s, when rap music was just beginning. I decided to enter the rap scene, modeling myself after female rap pioneers such as Salt-N-Pepa and MC Lyte. My rhymes were strong, and I participated in school talent shows, even winning a Young People’s Division (YPD) Talent Show performing Christian rap.

Fast forward 40 years, and those raps I wrote in the 1980s evolved into the litanies and spoken word pieces I write today. Proverbs 18:16 says that a gift opens doors. The gift of writing raps opened doors I never imagined. God knew what was possible long before I did. I have been blessed to write litanies recited at district meetings and published in the AME Anvil. I was even asked by the late Bishop E. Anne Henning Byfield, an accomplished poet, to write a social justice litany.

My message to you is this: never underestimate your gift. Embrace it. Unwrap it. Use it. Thank God for it.

Pray: God, thank you for the gifts you have placed within me. Help me to recognize them, nurture them, and use them for your glory.

John 2:1-4

On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what concern is that to me and to you? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

OBEDIENCE: THE KEY TO FULFILLMENT

In John 2, Jesus, his mother, and his disciples attended a wedding. As the celebration continued, the wine supply ran out. Culturally, running out of wine at a wedding brought shame to the newly married couple, as the abundance and quality of wine symbolized prosperity.

When Jesus’ mother, Mary, learned the wine was gone, she brought the matter to Jesus in faith. Although Jesus initially responded, “Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come,” Mary remained confident. She turned to the servants and said, “Do whatever he tells you.” In obedience, the servants followed Jesus’ instructions to fill the water jars and draw from them. Through that act of obedience, Jesus performed a miracle and supplied exactly what was needed.

Mary’s words to the servants remain a powerful reminder that obedience to God is key to fulfillment. There will be times when we experience spiritual, emotional, or physical emptiness. Yet, when we trust God and obey God’s direction, God provides. Matthew 6:33 reminds us to seek first the kingdom of God and God’s righteousness, trusting that all we need will be given. Obedience positions us for divine provision.

Pray: Lord, when I experience emptiness, give me a heart that trusts and obeys you fully. Align my life with your will and provide all I need.

Mother’s Day

Proverbs 31:28

Her children rise up and call her happy; her husband too, and he praises her.”

A LOVE THAT SHAPES GENERATIONS

A mother’s love is often one of the first reflections of God’s nurturing presence we encounter. Through sleepless nights, whispered prayers, sacrifices unseen, and strength stretched beyond measure, mothers shape lives beneath the surface. Whether through birth, adoption, mentorship, or spiritual care, mothers embody resilience, wisdom, and grace.

On this Mother’s Day, we honor the women who have carried, comforted, corrected, and cultivated generations. Their work is holy work. In a world that often overlooks quiet sacrifices, scripture reminds us that faithful love leaves a legacy worthy of rising gratitude. Today, celebrate the mothers and mother-figures whose hands have guided, whose hearts have covered, and whose faith has helped build futures. Their love echoes long after the moment, revealing that nurturing is not weakness—it is power shaped by grace.

Pray: Lord, thank you for the mothers and mother-figures whose love, sacrifice, and faith continue to shape lives and reveal your grace.

1 Thessalonians 5:17

…pray without ceasing,

CONSTANT PRAYER

I often find myself becoming easily distracted during prayer time, struggling to stay focused in conversation with God. That is a shortfall, not a downfall, because God always catches me and gently brings me back to where I am supposed to be. I believe we are often under attack, even in our prayer lives, but we must keep praying anyway. I do not worry about every detail because God has already assured me that God has me. God said it, and I believe it.

One of the ways I stay connected is by writing letters to God. Today, I share this prayer as a reminder that no matter how distracted we may become, God always welcomes us back.

Let us pray. Dear Jesus, this is Sis. Sheryl, bowed before you, thanking you for all you have done for me. I have come a mighty long way because of you, my Lord. I live and breathe because you have willed it so. I know you know me because you created me and continue to sustain me. Lord God, help me meet you in prayer. Teach me to speak with you anytime and on time. Draw me to you morning, noon, and night because you are medicine to my soul. Through your Word and your way, you heal me. Remind me to run continually to your throne so that I may remain close to you. Let nothing separate me from you. Amen.

Please pray for me as I pray for you, AME Church family

Pray: Lord, strengthen my prayer life, steady my focus, and continually draw me back to you whenever distractions arise.

Luke 1:37

For nothing will be impossible with God.

GO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE

A friend once posted these powerful words: “Think bigger. Ask yourself: If I could do anything I wanted in my life, what would I do? Then go do that.” At first, that may sound overly simple, but when placed beside God’s Word, it becomes a challenge rooted in faith. Scripture reminds us that nothing is impossible with God. If our desires align with God’s will, then we should not shrink back in fear or doubt.

Too often, we say we trust God, yet we pray small prayers or convince ourselves that our dreams are out of reach. But Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think. That means God’s vision for our lives is greater than our own imagination. We serve a God who calls us beyond limitations, beyond fear, and beyond excuses.

Today, think bigger. Trust deeper. Believe boldly. Then, with faith in God, go do the impossible.

Pray: Jehovah God, expand my faith, enlarge my vision, and give me courage to pursue all you have called me to do.

Romans 12:6–8

We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; the encourager, in encouragement; the giver, in sincerity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.

A LIVING SACRIFICE

When I reflect on what it means to be a living sacrifice, I realize it is not about death, but about daily surrender. Romans 12 calls us to offer our lives fully to God—not just in worship, but in how we lead, serve, teach, love, and live each day. A living sacrifice means choosing obedience over convenience and purpose over passivity.

Whether in ministry, leadership, education, family, or friendship, God calls each of us to live intentionally. Romans 12:6–8 reminds us that every gift has value, and true leadership is not rooted in status, but in faithfulness. God has uniquely placed each of us in spaces where our gifts can encourage, strengthen, and uplift others.

Living sacrificially can feel exhausting, but when our service is rooted in divine purpose rather than human pressure, it becomes renewing. We are called to lead humbly, love sincerely, and serve faithfully. This is the heart of a living sacrifice—fully available to God.

Pray: God, help me surrender my life daily to you. Shape me into a faithful servant whose leadership, love, and purpose bring glory to your name.

Mark 16:19

Thursday, May 14, 2026

So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

LIFTED, YET STILL NEAR

Jesus’ departure was not abandonment—it was elevation with purpose. The risen Christ ascended not to leave humanity behind, but to reign with power and intercede with authority. The disciples stood looking upward, but they were quickly reminded that their calling was not to remain frozen in awe—it was to move forward in mission. Ascension shifts our focus from what was to what now must be. Christ’s ascension means that our hope is higher than earthly limitations, our calling is larger than personal comfort, and our lives are anchored in a Savior who reigns above all powers. Because Jesus is lifted, we are reminded to lift our vision, our witness, and our faith. Ascension is the assurance that while Christ rose, God’s presence remains active, calling us to live with purpose until power comes.

Pray: Lord, lift my vision beyond what I see, strengthen my faith in your reign, and prepare me to live boldly in your purpose.

Genesis 1:1

When God began to create the heavens and the earth,

THE BOOK YOU CAN TRUST

The Holy Bible stands apart because it not only declares God as Creator from the very beginning, but it also reveals God as Savior and Sustainer from beginning to end. Through its pages, we encounter the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who was, is, and is to come.

The Bible is more than literature; it is living truth. It tells the story of creation, redemption, salvation through Jesus Christ, and the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. It has stood the test of time, transforming lives across generations, cultures, and nations. While countless books offer knowledge, only God’s Word offers eternal truth, salvation, and divine wisdom.

In a world filled with many voices, trends, and opinions, the Bible remains the one book we can fully trust. It is tried, true, and trustworthy because it points us continually to the one true and living God.

Pray: God, thank you for your Word that guides, teaches, and anchors my life. Help me trust it, study it, and live by its truth daily.

Lamentations 3:22-24

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”

THE POWER OF GRACE

When I woke up this morning, I remembered that God had given me another chance. That realization alone is grace. Each new day is evidence that God is not finished with us yet. Grace reminds us that yesterday’s mistakes do not define today’s opportunities.

Life will always bring challenges, but we do not have to begin the day weighed down by the past or consumed by future worries. As believers, we have hope because we belong to Almighty God. Grace gives us strength to keep moving, courage to keep trusting, and assurance that victory is possible. Just as Jesus remained focused on divine purpose, we too must keep our focus. God still has need of us.

There is still work to do, love to give, and purpose to fulfill. Grace is not merely forgiveness—it is empowerment for today.

Pray: Lord, thank you for the grace of a new day. Help me walk in renewed purpose, focused faith, and confidence that you are still working in me.

Luke 24:45-49

Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, and he said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Messia is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And see, I am sending upon you what my Father promised, so stay here in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

ONLY TRUTH PREVAILS

Throughout life, we hear many voices shaping our understanding of faith—family, friends, preachers, culture, and experience. As we mature spiritually, we begin to examine what we have been taught and seek truth for ourselves. Questions may come, and understanding may deepen, but one truth remains unshaken: Jesus lives.

During Resurrection season, we are reminded that death could not hold Christ. The grave could not silence truth. Jesus rose with all power, proving that truth may be challenged, buried, or doubted—but it will never remain defeated.

This same truth gives us hope. Because Christ lives, we live also. Our physical bodies may fade, but through salvation, eternal life is promised. Truth prevails because God prevails. No lie, fear, or grave can permanently suppress what God has declared.

Be encouraged; truth always rises. Christ is alive, and because of that, hope lives in us.

Pray: Lord, ground me in your truth. Strengthen my faith, deepen my understanding, and remind me that because you live, truth will always prevail.

Acts 3:6

Peter said, “I have no silver or gold, but what I have I give you; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth stand up and walk.”

THE BEAUTIFUL GATE

At the Beautiful Gate, a man who had spent his life begging expected money—but God had something greater. Peter declared, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk” (Acts 3:6). In that moment, limitation met divine power, and what seemed impossible became reality.

How often do we stand at the gates of life asking only for survival when God desires transformation? Sometimes we seek temporary relief while God offers complete restoration. The Beautiful Gate reminds us that God’s power is not limited by our expectations. What we think we need may be small compared to what God wants to do. Trust that God can meet you at your place of need and call you beyond it. Through Christ, you are not destined to remain where you are—you can rise.

Pray: Lord, meet me at the gates of my need, strengthen my faith, and help me rise into the greater purpose you have for me.

Jeremiah 29:11

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.

GOD’S GRACE OVER YOUR PAST

For many, the past can feel heavy—personal mistakes, family struggles, and even generational burdens that try to define what’s possible. It’s easy to believe that yesterday’s failures have already written tomorrow’s story. But God’s truth speaks louder than regret.

Throughout Scripture, God uses imperfect people to accomplish powerful purposes. Your mistakes may be real, but they are not final. They do not disqualify you from God’s plan; they become part of the testimony He is still writing. What the world may label as failure, God can transform into growth, wisdom, and renewed direction.

In a community that has overcome so much, there is a deep-rooted resilience—a faith that says, “We’ve come this far by faith,” even when the odds were against us. That same faith reminds you today that your future is not chained to your past. God’s grace breaks cycles, restores dignity, and opens new doors no one can shut. Don’t allow shame to silence your purpose. Learn from what was, but don’t live there. Step forward with confidence, knowing that God is still guiding your path.

Pray: Lord, thank you for your grace that covers every mistake I’ve made. Help me release the weight of my past and walk boldly into the future you have prepared for me.

Mark 4:39b

“Peace! Be still!”

PEACE IN THE STORM

Storms are an inevitable part of life, but fear does not have to rule us in them. When Jesus spoke peace to the wind and waves, he revealed that chaos does not have the final word —God does. Sometimes the storm around us is loud, but the greater battle is the storm within us. Anxiety, uncertainty, and fear can threaten to overtake our hearts. Yet the voice of Christ still speaks: “Peace. Be still.”

Divine peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence of God in the middle of it. Even when circumstances remain uncertain, God’s peace anchors us. The same Savior who calmed the sea can calm the soul. Remember that no storm is greater than God’s authority, and no wave is stronger than God’s word.

Pray: Lord, speak peace over every storm in my life and anchor my heart in your calming presence.

2 Corinthians 12:9a

My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness

STRENGTH FOR TODAY

Some days feel heavier than others. Responsibilities, grief, uncertainty, and exhaustion can make us feel inadequate. Yet scripture reminds us that weakness is not the end of the story—it is often where God’s strength becomes clearest. We do not have to carry every burden alone. Grace meets us where our strength runs out. God does not require perfection before offering power. Instead, God’s grace sustains, strengthens, and carries us through. What feels impossible today may become manageable when surrendered to divine help. Strength is not always loud or dramatic; sometimes it is simply the quiet courage to keep going. God’s sufficiency means that even in our limitations, we are never abandoned.

Pray: Lord, when I feel weak, remind me that your grace is enough and your strength will carry me. A ChatGPT Experience (Edited)

Nehemiah 8:10b

The joy of the Lord is your strength.”

JOY BEYOND CIRCUMSTANCES

Joy is deeper than happiness because it is not dependent on perfect circumstances. Happiness may shift with situations, but joy is rooted in God’s unchanging presence.

Even in difficult seasons, joy remains possible because God remains faithful. Joy is resistance against despair. It is the spiritual strength to believe that hardship does not erase hope. The joy of the Lord reminds us that pain may visit, but it does not have permanent authority. Joy is found in remembering who God is, what God has done, and what God continues to promise. When life feels uncertain, joy becomes a declaration of trust.

Learn to choose joy—not because life is easy, but because God is still good.

Pray: Lord, fill me with your joy so that my strength is rooted in you rather than my circumstances. A ChatGPT Experience (Edited)

Joshua 1:9b

B”e strong and courageous… for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

CALLED TO COURAGE

I hope that you know that courage is not the absence of fear; it is moving forward despite it. God’s call often leads us beyond comfort zones into places that require trust. New seasons, difficult decisions, and uncertain paths can feel intimidating, but courage grows when we remember who walks with us. God’s presence is our confidence. We do not face life’s challenges alone. Every assignment, transition, and trial becomes possible when we trust that God goes before us.

Courage means stepping even when the full picture is unclear. Faith does not always provide all the details—it provides enough assurance to move. Wherever God calls, God also accompanies.

Pray: Lord, strengthen my heart with courage and help me walk boldly wherever you lead.

Pentecost Sunday

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses…

WHEN FIRE FELL

Pentecost is the reminder that God does not call us to purpose without also providing power. When the Holy Spirit fell like wind and fire, fear gave way to boldness, silence became testimony, and ordinary believers became world changers. Pentecost is not simply about a moment in history—it is about the ongoing movement of God within us now. The same Spirit that filled the upper room still ignites courage, wisdom, and holy transformation today. Where there was confusion, God brought clarity. Where there was hesitation, God released power. Where there were barriers, God created unity. This season calls us beyond shallow faith into Spirit-filled living, where we do not merely attend church but become living witnesses. The fire of Pentecost reminds us that God’s presence is not passive—it is active, empowering us to live boldly, love deeply, and serve faithfully.

Pray: Lord, fill me anew with your Holy Spirit so that I may live with power, speak with boldness, and witness with faith.

A HEART OF GRATITUDE

When we practice thanksgiving, we train our hearts to notice God’s goodness even in imperfect moments. Gratitude opens our eyes to daily grace—breath, provision, relationships, and mercy we may otherwise overlook. Thankfulness becomes spiritual grounding. The foundation of God’s nature and the calling of God’s people is love.Love endures when other things fade. It is more than emotion—it is action, sacrifice, compassion, and commitment. Love builds bridges, heals wounds, and reflects God most clearly. In a fractured world, love remains one of the strongest witnesses of faith. To love well is holy work. God’s love sustains us, and our love for others becomes evidence of God’s presence.

John 1:5

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.

LIGHT IN DARKNESS

Darkness may feel overwhelming, but it cannot extinguish divine light. God’s light brings hope, truth, and direction where fear tries to settle. Even small light changes everything. In Christ, darkness is never final. Pain, confusion, and despair do not win. Light persists. God’s presence illuminates paths we thought were lost. When life feels dim, remember that darkness is not stronger than God.

Pray: Lord, shine your light in every dark place of my life and remind me that your hope cannot be overcome

Ephesians 4:32

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.

FORGIVENESS THAT FREES

When wounds run deep, forgiveness can be difficult, especially. Yet unforgiveness often binds the wounded more than the one who caused the pain. God calls us to forgiveness not because harm was acceptable, but because freedom is necessary. Forgiveness releases bitterness and makes room for healing. It does not always erase consequences, but it breaks chains.

Through Christ, we have received mercy, and through mercy, we are invited to extend grace. Forgiveness is sacred work that opens the heart to peace.

Pray: Lord, help me release bitterness, embrace forgiveness, and walk in the freedom of your grace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1a

For everything there is a season…”

PURPOSE IN EVERY SEASON

Life moves through changing seasons—joy and grief, growth and pruning, beginnings and endings. Each season carries purpose, even when we do not immediately understand it. Some seasons build, others refine. Some stretch, others restore. God wastes nothing. Every chapter can teach, shape, and deepen us. Trusting God means believing that every season, even difficult ones, can serve a greater purpose. What feels confusing now may later reveal wisdom. Seasons change, but God remains constant.

Pray: Lord, help me trust your purpose in every season and remain faithful through every change.

Isaiah 40:31a

But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength…”

FAITH IN THE WAITING

Waiting seasons can feel like silence, but in God’s hands, waiting is never wasted. Often, we want immediate answers, quick breakthroughs, and visible movement, yet God frequently does deep work beneath the surface before transformation appears. Waiting develops endurance, sharpens trust, and teaches us to rely not on our own timelines but on God’s perfect wisdom. What feels delayed may actually be divine preparation. In waiting, God strengthens what hurried movement might weaken. Every pause can become sacred when surrendered to God. The challenge is not simply to wait—but to wait faithfully, believing that God is still working even when nothing seems to be changing. Strength is often born not in arrival, but in perseverance. When we trust God in the waiting, we discover that delay does not mean denial—it may mean development.

Pray: Lord, teach me to trust you in seasons of waiting and renew my strength while I stand in faith.

Trinity Sunday

2 Corinthians 13:13

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.”

THE MYSTERY THAT HOLDS US

The fullness of God is—Creator, Savior, and Sustainer. The Trinity is not division, but divine relationship: one God revealed in three persons, perfectly united in love, power, and presence. In God, we are created with intention. In the son, we are redeemed through grace. In the Holy Spirit, we are sustained and empowered daily.

Trinity Sunday reminds us that God’s nature is relational, and because we are made in God’s image, we are also called into loving relationship—with God and with one another. The mystery of the Trinity teaches us that God is beyond complete comprehension, yet intimately present. Even when we cannot fully explain God, we can fully trust God. In every season, the Triune God surrounds us, saves us, and strengthens us.

Pray: Lord, thank you for your creating love, redeeming grace, and sustaining presence that holds my life together each day.
