FAQ How many anglers can we register for a tournament?

There is no limit on the number of anglers that can be registered by a team. All anglers should be registered in the tournament for reporting purposes.

Are there social passes for each tournament? YES. Each team receives (6) social passes with their general entry fee into the tournaments. Additional passes may be purchased if necessary. Credentials are required for access to hospitality parties and other activities for a tournament.

Is there a general entry fee for the series?

NO. Entry fees are specific to each leg of the series. However, there is an optional entry calcutta available for the series.

Where can I register for the tournaments?

BY MAIL: (for early entry only) Make checks payable to Bluewater Movements, Inc. PO Box 50114, Lighthouse Point, FL 33074.

Upon receipt of the check in the mail, a staff member will contact the captain to complete the registration process.

KICKOFF PARTY: Late registration will take place the evening of each kickoff party.

Can I pay with a check at the kickoff party?

NO. Acceptable payment methods at the kickoff party are cash, Mastercard, Visa & AmEx ONLY. No business or personal checks will be accepted at the kickoff party.

What are the eligible species of fish?

Sailfish, White Marlin, Blue Marlin, Dolphin, Wahoo, Kingfish, Cobia and Tuna What if there is a tie? In the event of a tie in the sailfish division, winners will be determined by the team or individual that releases their last fish first.

What is the minimum weight requirement for meatfish?

10 pounds What are the hook requirements?

As required by NMFS, all teams must use a non-offset circle hook in each tournament.

Does each tournament adhere to IGFA rules?

NO. While there are aspects of the tournament rules that are consistent with IGFA standards, there are some elements of the rules that are in contrast to IGFA mandated rules. Contact the tournament director if there are any specific questions related to tournament rules.

How many lines can we fish?

All boats are permitted to fish up to (7) lines in the water during each tournament. A maximium of (2) artificial or natural teasers are allowed and do not factor into the count for the permitted number of lines in the water.

What method is used to verify sailfish releases in the tournament?

All releases must be documented on video by each team as stated in the rules. SD Cards are the only acceptable form of video media in the tournament. Teams must provide their own media.

Is live chumming allowed in the tournament?

NO. Live chumming is not permitted. Frozen chum is allowed.

Are teasers permitted in the tournament?

YES. A maximum of 2 artificial or natural teasers are permitted in the tournament. Live bait teasers are not permitted.

What are the boundaries in the tournament?

Teams may not exit the boundaries when fighting a fish.

IT WASN’T A TOURNAMENT DAY. If only this amazing fishing day could land on tournament day. Ask and you shall receive!

It all started with a conversation between Jamie Bunn, Bluewater Movements Founder and Tournament Director, and Captain Chip Sheehan of team Reel Synergy and Chips Ahoy Charters.

Chip mentioned a tournament he fished in the northeast that allowed teams to choose their days of fishing over an expanded time period. He said “How cool it would be to implement a similar concept in a sailfish tournament that gave teams the 10

ability to control their own destiny - no set tournament days, a fish where you want, when you want format with broad appeal to teams up and down the east coast of Florida”. From there the concept of the all new Florida Sailfish Cup was born.

“Inevitably, every sailfish season, there are banner fishing days that never land on tournament days,‘’ said Tournament Director,

Jamie Bunn. With the unique format of the Florida Sailfish Cup, those days are over. Every day is a tournament day. When the bite heats up in their area, teams will have the opportunity to capitalize on a hot bite and record it on their quest to win the Florida Sailfish Cup,” said Bunn. Similarly, they will have the option of passing on those tournament days when fishing is terribly slow or terribly rough.

Every tournament fisherman dreams of being able to pick when and where they want to fish and now they can. Bluewater Movements is proud to announce the addition of the 7th tournament in their line up, the Florida Sailfish Cup. The new tournament will span the entire east coast of Florida, from Fernandina Beach to Key West from November 1st to May 31st each year. Eligible species are Sailfish, White Marlin & Blue Marlin. Teams have the opportunity to fish in four different zones - North, Central, South & the Florida Keys. And whether they choose to fish in their backyard or explore different waters; the choice is entirely theirs. Each release will be scored to the zone where it occurs.

There are several unique aspects to the Florida Sailfish Cup, but the most notable is the fact that teams will decide their five fishing days during the tournament with an added bonus that enables them to purchase a sixth mulligan day prior to the start of the tournament to replace their lowest scoring day of the season.

The Florida Sailfish Cup purse is built to offer teams a wide variety of ways to cash checks. Each zone will award a cash prize and trophy to the winner in addition to an overall payout to the top 3 teams across all four zones. Add to that, a set of overall calcuttas, three calcuttas in each zone, including dailies, a dead bait division and a small boat division will set the stage for many ways to win BIG in the Cup! “We could not be more excited to bring this unprecedented tournament format forward and bring fishing teams together with representation over the entire state of Florida,” said Jamie Bunn.

A CHAMPION STORY

BAR SOUTH

2018-19 WAS MY FIRST YEAR RUNNING THE BAR SOUTH. I was honored to step up to the plate as the captain of a team that has a very successful track record in the Quest series. We started off with a bang! Right out of the gate we took the first place daily on Day 1 of Operation Sailfish with 8 releases. I was stoked to have achieved this accomplishment on my first day as a tournament captain, on Day 1 of the series. The series came down to a tight race for the top spot and we wound up in third place. Even though we did not win the series that year, I was incredibly proud of my team. We worked great together as a cohesive unit competing against the best there is. I viewed our third-place finish as a great success, but I felt that we could do better. I knew it was going to take a lot of hard work and a bit of luck to win the series but I had no idea what the next season had in store for us.

Starting off the 2019-2020 season, we had one goal in mind. As the adage goes, history repeats itself. For the second year in a row, we took the Day 1 first place daily with 12 releases. Th is time instead of celebrating the daily we stayed focused on the win. The second day the team kept it going and stayed in the lead the whole day. With a total of 21 fish, we beat out the 2nd place boat by 4 fish. Sweet victory was ours.

Mother nature threw her best at us for the second leg of the Quest series. A strong cold front with gale force winds brought us 12 to 15 foot seas. To top it off, we had to battle a relentless rain making it a battle just to keep our kites in the air. It was a hard-fought fight, but I knew my guys down in the pit had it handled. Despite the miserable conditions, we kept our spread out and fishing, but it wasn’t easy. As fishing goes, we had some bad luck that day jumping off a few fish and pulling one off 5 feet from the leader that would have given us the daily. On the ride home I had a good feeling about Saturday. It was going to be rough, but I knew my crew and boat could take it. When we got to the dock, we found out the Day 2 had been moved to Sunday. Sailfishing was slow, but the king fish bite was fierce. In the end we finished in 5th with 5 sail fish and Shell Yeah won with 6. The 5th place finish gave us the lead in the Quest with 57 points. The Jichi was right on our tail with 51 points, and Shell Yeah with 49 going into Final Sail.

I felt confident going into Final Sail with a 6-point lead and fi shing out of my home port. Then came the news that changed the world. Covid-19 had come to the US and the entire country went under a mandatory lockdown. Before the shut down, I fueled both boats and bought all the tackle we would need for Final Sail.

I caught the best bait I had had all season, tied extra leaders and kite lines. We were ready! Then we got the unfortunate news that the tournament was moved from the first week of April to May which was fine with me because I knew the fishing would be better. However, we were set for a complete refit of the boat in the late spring. Time went on, the Covid lock downs extended further, leading to the inevitable news that Final Sail would be postponed until the following year.

I was heartbroken to say the least. We were more ready than we had been for any tournament in the past. Since we couldn’t fish the tournament, and we had put so much work into preparation, bait

fishing, rigging etc, we had no other option than to go fishing. I figured it was time to give the guys a treat, so we pointed the boat towards Marathon where the sailfish had been tailing. Th at day we caught 41 fish on a half day before we had to end the day early.

With the 2020 Final Sail cancellation, the 2021 Final Sail would determine who won the 2020 series, as well as the 2021 series. The first day of the tournament we fished a secret spot where we had done well pre-fishing, the Ultra Freeze wreck. On Day 1 of the tournament, fish were being caught all around us, but we could not get into our groove.

We finished the day with only 3 fish, which left us way back in the pack.

To make matters worse, the Jichi had a stellar day catching 9 fish, which put them ahead of us for the series finale. Suffice it to say, the coveted burgundy jacket seemed to be getting further away from us. Despite a lackluster fi nish on Day 1, I spoke with my guys and told them to get ready for the second day. We had battled back and overcome bigger deficits before, and I knew we could do it this time too. We never gave up hope. We started Day 2 on the county wrecks and picked away at them. It was not a red-hot bite, but we kept our heads down and grinded. We found our sweet spot and finished the day with 11 sails to Jichi’s 7. In the end we beat the Jichi by one point, 77 to 76, to win the Quest for the Crest series and the teams' second burgundy jacket. It was a hard-fought victory against the worthiest opponents that came right down to the wire. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

At the end of Final Sail, we took home the 2020 burgundy jacket, Showtime won the 2021 jacket, and Priceless put on a show to win the Final Sail tournament. It’s an amazing feeling to fi nish at the top with two other boats that are close friends of ours.

SHOWTIME

THE ARRIVAL OF THE 2021 QUEST FOR THE CREST COULDN’T COME SOON ENOUGH FOR TEAM SHOWTIME. The 2020 season ended abruptly due to the cancellation of Final Sail and climbing Covid-19 numbers, making for a much longer off season. When 2021 rolled around and it was apparent that we would be able to fish we were all excited to get back to our passion. It was great to see everyone once again as we prepared for the first tournament of the season, Operation Sailfish.

Conditions for the start of Operation Sailfi sh were quite challenging. Unlike previous years with heavy winds and category five kites, the wind was almost nonexistent. We modified our tackle selection and made sure we had plenty of light gear for the light wind conditions. We departed Miami for West Palm Beach several days prior to the fi rst day of fishing in order to transfer all the baits and allow sufficient time for them to get settled in as we established a home base at Sailfish Marina. The prefishing highlight for us in Operation Sailfish is always their ‘Take a Hero Fishing Day’ where we have the privilege of hosting a veteran on our boat for a day of fishing. We had the pleasure of fishing with Phillip Genz, a navy veteran, and caught him the first sailfish of his lifetime!

As we headed out for Day 1 of competition, conditions were as expected. We knew the fishing would be slow and had to make every opportunity count. At the end of Day 1 we were on the leaderboard sitting in second place overall with 5 releases and 1 fish behind the leader, Team HMY. We had a double header early on in Day 2 and were able to add one more before the end of the day to secure the win and the start we were looking for in the series.

With the arrival of the Sailfi sh Challenge, leg 2 of the series, and the unique 3-inlet format of the tournament, we knew we would need to be prepared for fi shing as far north as Jupiter or as far south as Ocean Reef. After several days of pre-fi shing we decided to fi sh out of Miami. After Day 1 and only one release, we weren’t so sure we made the right call. We were seeing the fi sh and pitched at a number of tailers but getting them to eat was a challenge. We stuck to our game on Day 2 and managed to release 5 fish, which was the 4th best of the day and finished in 9th place overall to put ourselves in 2nd place overall, just 1 point behind the Sailfish Challenge champs, Native Son.

Heading into the last leg of the series, Final Sail, we knew we had an opportunity to win the overall series. We also knew we would have our hands full with Captain Art Sapp and the Native Son crew who were hungry to claim their fi rst burgundy jacket. You could sense the intensity throughout the preparation including the bait and prefishing days. With Miami being our backyard and a promising weather forecast, we felt like it was our title to win. The bite got off to a hot start on Day 1 with a few boats posting double digit releases. We were in the mix with 6 releases, however, we fell a few more points behind Native Son after Day 1. On Day 2, the wind continued to increase to over 25 knots making conditions harder to deal with and the decision of where to fi sh even harder. There was no turning back or changing our approach on that morning. Captain Nick Carullo decided to run south into the head sea for almost 2 hours until we arrived at Ocean Reef. As we put out the kites and waited for lines-in there was dead silence despite a honking wind with 100% focus on what we needed to accomplish. The kite lines were humming as the sun broke in the horizon and the lines in call was made. It wasn’t long after lines-in that we released a quick double and things started flowing. By mid-morning we were almost into the double digits for releases on the day. The bite continued with Nick and JC in the tower and Kyle and Jorge working the pit. At one point I recall looking around and seeing 6 of us tight on multiple fi sh. It was hard to keep count of how many we had and quite honestly how Jason managed to capture them on the camera and record all the release numbers was a feat in itself. When the dust settled and the smoke cleared, we managed to release 21 sailfish for the tournament, 15 which came on Day 2 to win the daily! Frankie took home the Master Angler award for the series and most importantly, we accomplished our goal. With a second place fi nish in Final Sail,

SERIES RULES GENERAL RULES

1. Registration: Please visit fish.bluewatermovements.com to register online. Teams that wish to pay by check may do so by mailing the check to: Bluewater Movements, Inc., PO Box 50114, Lighthouse Point, FL 33074. Early entry for each event closes on the following dates: Operation Sailfi sh: 12/29/21 Sailfi sh Challenge: 1/28/22 Final Sail: 3/18/22 All registration and calcutta payments must be complete by the conclusion of the kickoff party for each fishing tournament. For questions regarding registration call (954) 725-4010.

2. Entry Forms: Registration must be completed by the captain or owner with appropriate fees and registration information. Officials in each event reserve the right to refuse application or entry into the tournaments at their discretion with or without cause. General entry fees are not refundable for any reason.

3. Eligible Species: Sailfish, White Marlin, Blue Marlin, Dolphin, Wahoo, Kingfish, Tuna and Cobia.

4. Maximum Anglers: There is no limit on anglers. Additional crewmembers or mates may accompany the team if desired. Any teams with angler changes or substitutions should notify the committee prior to the start of fishing for each event.

5. Maximum Lines: All boats are permitted to fish up to seven lines in the water during each tournament.

6. Tackle: All fish must be caught on rod and reel. Wire lines are permitted.

No electric reels (except kite rods and downriggers). All teams must use a non-offset circle hook in the tournaments. The length of the leader may not exceed 15 feet. The combined length of the double line and the leader may not exceed 20 feet in length. 2 artificial or natural dredges are permitted in the tournaments. Dredges do not factor into your line count. Stinger rigs are permitted provided the hook is a circle hook.

7. Bait & Bait Fishing: Fishing with live bait is permitted in the tournaments; however, live chumming is not permitted. Frozen block chum is acceptable. No dead baits (whole or chunk) may be used for chumming.

All boats in the tournaments are prohibited from having any boats outside the tournaments to live chum on their behalf. Bait fishing is permitted during the tournaments however, teams cannot fish for sailfish or meatfish at the same time they are bait fishing.

8. Hook & Catch: A hook and hand scenario is permitted in all Quest for the Crest tournaments. A hooked fish may be fought by multiple members of a team with no limit on the number of times a rod is passed from one angler to another. The use of a rod holder to hook and fight a fish is permitted.

9. Tournament Channel: The tournament channel may vary by tournament. The official channel will be announced at the captain's meeting for each event. The tournament channel is reserved for specific announcements and the report of angler releases. All discussions among competitors should be conducted on alternate channels.

10. Boundaries: Operation Sailfi sh: North: 27.15 South: 26.15 East: 79.22 Sailfi sh Challenge: North: 27.04 South: 25.28 East: 79.35 Final Sail: North: 26.16 South: 25.15 East: 79.37 11. Prize Structure: The general prize structure is based upon a participating field of 60 boats in each event.

12. Check-Out: There is not a land based checkout location for the tournaments. Prior to the start of fishing each day, all teams must video the time and their GPS coordinates to confirm that they are within the stated boundaries for the tournament. Video must show time, date and GPS location. Boats may not deploy any lines in the water until they are within the stated boundaries.

13. LINES IN/LINES OUT: Operation Sailfi sh: 8:00am & 4:00pm on January 14 & 15, 2022 Sailfi sh Challenge: 8:00am & 4:00pm on February 25 & 26, 2022 Final Sail: 8:00am & 4:00pm on April 8 & 9, 2022 14. Check-In: Operation Sailfi sh: Media and release cards must be turned in at Sailfish Marina by 6pm each day.

Sailfi sh Challenge: Media and release cards must be turned in at Miami Beach Marina, Hillsboro Inlet Finger Docks or Sailfish Marina by 6pm each day.

Final Sail: Media & release cards must be turned in at Miami Beach Marina by 6pm on Friday and 5:30pm on Saturday.

15. Changing Boats: The series points for the Quest reside with the registered boat and the owner of that boat. If a registered boat elects not to participate in the next leg of the series and other members of the team wish to continue forward on a new boat with those points, they may do so provided at least 3 of the original team members are on board the new boat and approval in writing has been provided by the owner of the original boat. However, points may not be transferred to another boat already competing in the series.

16. Weather: In the event that weather conditions arise deemed unsafe for the average registered boat, by the tournament officials, the tournament schedule at each event may be altered to accommodate the best weather & fishing conditions available to participating teams. Any schedule adjustment due to inclement weather will be made at the sole discretion of the tournament committee. Best effort will be made to achieve a 2 day fishing format on the scheduled weekend of the tournaments. In the circumstance, as determined by the committee, where 2 days of fishing may be unachievable, the tournament may be reduced to a one day format. Captains, anglers and all other members of registered boats must determine in their own judgment whether to fish under the given conditions based on factors including but not limited to the seaworthiness of their boat and their own seamanship.

17. Competition Day: Best effort will be made to ensure the full fishing schedule is met for each tournament in the series. At least 4 hours of tournament fishing must occur on any given day in order for the points from that day to be factored into the overall score and standings for each team. Should inclement weather or any other force majeure condition occur that limits the tournament to only 1 day of fishing during a tournament, the daily calcutta money allocated for the cancelled day will be returned to the teams that are registered for the affected calcutta. All other general prize and calcutta money will be paid according to standard procedure based on the standings from the modified fishing schedule.

18. Protests: All protests must be submitted in writing along with $500 cash or check to the tournament officials within four hours of the conclusion of the day of fishing. Protests should be made based on first hand eyewitness information. All decisions of the tournament officials regarding protests are final. All participants agree and acknowledge by their participation that this protest shall be the sole remedy for any and all disputes arising from the competition. In addition, all participants expressly waive their right to trial.

SERIES RULES 19. Polygraph: By entering any tournament in the series, all captains, anglers and occupants of their boats voluntarily consent to submit to a polygraph examination as deemed necessary by tournament officials. All decisions of the polygraph examiner will be final. Any captain, angler or occupant of a registered boat who refuses to take a polygraph or provides untruthful answers as determined by the examiner will be disqualified from the tournament without further notice. Such a disqualification will eliminate payment or provision of any prize money, awards and/or refund of entrance fees.

20. Tournament Discretion: The tournament director reserves the right to implement his or her discretion at any time during the tournaments as it may apply to the rules or any other circumstance that should arise during the course of an event in the series.

21. Release: All registered captains, anglers and occupants of their boats consent that tournament officials may use without payment or restriction, any photographs or video in which he or she appears for any purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to resale, advertising and promotional material.

22. Hold Harmless: It is expressly understood that all registered participants and non-registered occupants of their boats enter into the events in the Quest for the Crest Sailfish Series voluntarily and at their own risk. Further, each registered and non-registered participant on behalf of other family members and/ or executors agrees to release and hold harmless Bluewater Movements Inc, its officers, directors, owners, members, representatives, agents, employees, independent contractors, volunteers, promoters, advertisers, sponsors, partners, joint ventures, affiliates, assigns, polygraph examiner, the city and county where the events are held and all other persons connected directly or indirectly with the operation of any event in the Quest for the Crest Sailfish Series (collectively, “Released and Indemnified Parties”) from any and all claims, losses, damages, demands, causes of action, suits and liabilities of every kind arising out of, related to, or resulting from the tournament, activity or event, including but not limited to all events in the Quest for the Crest Sailfish Series, including without limitation, any claim for loss, damage or destruction of property, or injury (including death), regardless of whether such loss arises in whole or in part from the negligence of any Released and Indemnified Party. This release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as possible under applicable law, and if any portion of this release is held invalid or unenforceable, the balance shall continue in full force and legal effect. Jurisdiction over the tournament shall be exclusively that of the tournament director. All parties agree to be bound by the tournament director’s decisions without exception.

23. Agreement: By registering for a tournament, the captain and/or owner agrees that all anglers and occupants of their boat will abide by all tournament rules.

COMPETITION RULES

24. Scoring: Billfish Points - Registered anglers will receive 1 point for each eligible billfish released in the tournament. All team prize categories will be awarded based on the team’s overall point standings. In the event of a tie, winners will be determined by the team or individual that releases their last fish first.

Dolphin, Wahoo, Kingfish, Tuna & Cobia Points - These species must weigh a minimum of 10 pounds to be eligible in the tournaments. Each fish meeting weight requirements will be given a score of one point per pound. These points will not be included with points awarded for billfish releases when determining the top team standings. See the meatfish division in the general prize structure of each event as well as the optional entry prize structure of each event for details on the prize money available in the meatfish categories. Mutilated fish will be disqualified. All decisions of the weighmaster are final.

25. Non-Pro Category: There is a non-pro prize category in each leg of the series. To qualify for this prize money, the following criteria must be met. Criteria 1: Two or fewer paid crew members on board (including captains, mates, and anglers). Criteria 2: There can not be anyone on board that has placed in the top 8 of a Quest for the Crest tournament within the past 8 years.

26. Billfish Release Criteria: All billfish in each event must be properly released in order for a point to be scored to the registered angler and his or her team. The requirements for a release are as follows: (1) The double line and leader must leave the tip of the rod once a strike occurs, unless they have already exited the tip of the rod. (2) At the conclusion of the fight the fish must be brought close enough to the boat for a mate or crewmember to touch the leader, not the double line. (3) In a continuous sequence, video footage must clearly identify the fish as well as the leader touch by a crew member. (4) Evidence on video of the leader being cut at the time of release.

(5) The proper color card and confirmation # should be displayed on video to mark the completion of a catch.

27. Video Requirement: Every billfish released in the tournament must be verified by video footage clearly identifying the release. Each team is responsible for providing their own video camera and the appropriate media to record video footage that documents the releases on their boat.

Video media will not be provided to teams by the tournament committee.

Acceptable video formats are SD cards only. The first video clip to be shot by all teams should be of time, date and GPS location at the start of fishing.

If you fill your first video and need to switch to a 2nd video during fishing please contact the radio room for an establishing shot to begin your video.

A secondary video source is highly recommended.

28. Continuous Video Sequence: To ensure the authenticity of the releases, each team will be required to maintain a continuous video sequence from the time video evidence of the fish is established up to the time that the leader touch and cut is verified on video. If a break in the footage should occur, the team must reestablish video evidence of the fish again with a continuous video sequence up to the leader touch and leader cut.

29. Break Image: Once a release has occurred, the captain must contact the radio room for a confirmation # and instructions on which color card to shoot in order to complete the release on video. If a team is hooked up to multiple fish, a crewmember should state that on camera with video evidence to support it. In the case of a multiple, if necessary, one color card can be used for the break image, provided the video evidence can clearly distinguish multiple sailfish and anglers fighting those fish and the necessary criteria referenced above for qualification of the release on video.

30. Release & Catch Verification: All billfish releases must be reported to the tournament committee immediately following the release. Individuals calling in a release must include the boat number and angler name in their report. A release will be official once the radio controller responds to the respective angler with a confirmation number and color. That confirmation number and color should be recorded on the registered angler’s release card.

Any boat unable to contact the committee should contact another boat for a relay. A tournament cell phone # will also be provided to teams at each Captain’s meeting. Boats that intend to fish in areas with poor cell phone coverage are still responsible for maintaining communication with the tournament committee on all releases.

31. Winnings: All winners are required to complete a W9 form prior to receiving any awards for each tournament. Awards and prize money will be withheld as required by law if a W9 form is not presented in advance of the awards presentations.

Growing up an avid fisherman on the waters of Florida, Bahamas and other exotic locations, Peter gained a lifelong passion for nature, the sea, and its beautiful predators and creatures. Coming from a family line of fishermen, artists and painters, he felt naturally driven to pursue and explore marine art as part of his career.

RELEASE ROUND UP WINNER TAKE ALL  $26,100 This optional entry category is divided into 4 rounds over 2 days of fishing. Numbers ranging from 1 to 5 will be placed in a sealed container. During each round of fishing a number will be drawn from the container and that number will determine the minimum number of sailfish that must be released to move on to the next round. Drawn numbers can only be used once. A team must advance through all 4 rounds in order to win the pot. In the final round, should multiple boats release the required number of fish, the team that releases the most fish in that round will win. Entry fee is $1,000 per boat.

SELF CENTERED WINNER TAKE ALL  $8,100 (center consoles only) The name says it all. If you like the idea of a category geared exclusively towards center console boats then here it is.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

The featured artist title in leg 2 of the Quest for the Crest series belongs to Bobby Boyle, better known as R.J. Although his affinity for art and drawing began at an early age, it was not until some years out of college that RJ actually pursued a career as an artist. He spent a considerable portion of his life fishing full-time as a mate, an experience that provided great perspective for him as a marine and wildlife artist. He owns his own art studio and tackle shop in Lighthouse Point, FL. When he’s not there you’ll usually find him out on the swordfish grounds or up in Tennessee spending time with his family.

ABOUT THE ARTIST K.C. Scott, featured artist for Final Sail, was first introduced to fishing by his father on Gull Lake in Michigan where he grew up. Early childhood trips to the Florida Keys to escape the bitter cold winters in Michigan, fueled his passion for the ocean and all the creatures that swim in it. After a stint in professional golf, he ultimately landed where he has the most talented stroke, with a paintbrush in his hand.

RELEASE ROUND UP WINNER TAKE ALL  $82,800 This optional entry category is divided into 4 rounds over 2 days of fishing. Hours of fishing in morning rounds are from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Hours of fishing in afternoon rounds are from 12:01pm to 4:00pm. Numbers ranging from 1 to 5 will be placed in a sealed container. During each round of fishing a number will be drawn from the container and that number will determine the minimum number of sailfish that must be released to move on to the next round. Drawn numbers can only be used once. A team must advance through all 4 rounds in order to win the pot. In the final round, should multiple boats release the required number of fish, the team that releases the most fish in that round will win. Ties will be determined by whichever team released their last fish first. If there is no winner the pot will rollover into the next leg of the Quest series. Estimated purse is based on a rollover amount from Sailfish Challenge. Entry fee is $1,000 per boat.
