Everyone is welcome to compete against present and former patrons to make it on the METC Challenge Board. Challenges consist of the fastest 2,000-meter row, most weight benched, deadlifted and lifted in a squat, most push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, fastest one mile lap and most tire flips completed in two minutes.
Join us during May to try to complete this fitness challenge. This is open to all eligible METC Fitness Center patrons. Interested patrons should sign up at the front desk. After each challenge place your numbers in the challenge binder at the front desk. The best scores receive a prize.

The RV Park has 74 full hookup RV pull-through sites with water, sewage and electricity. There are also two shower facilities and two laundry facilities for customer convenience. All sites are 30/50 amp. Every site has a patio with a picnic table and 69 sites have a grill. There is a maximum stay limit of 30 days and reservations are taken up to 90 days in advance.

The Equestrian Center offers horseback riding lessons for beginners and advanced riders in both English- and Westernstyle. Therapeutic riding lessons are also available and taught by certified instructors. Horses, saddles, and tack for lessons will be provided if needed. Patrons must be at least seven years old. The price is $60 per hour for a private lesson, $50 for
semi-private and $40 for group lessons. Lessons are available most days of the week and in the evenings. Helmets are available.

Weekend trail rides are available for patrons 7 and older for $30. All riders must arrive 30 minutes prior to their appointment time. Adults must accompany children under the age of 13. Riders must be at least 4 feet, 6 inches tall and weigh no more than 200 pounds. Weekday trail rides, group rides, team-building rides and pony rides are also available by appointment. Did you know that JBSA Lackland has 100+ acres of walking and running trails that run from JBSA LAK Outdoor Recreation to Gillum Fitness Center all the way to Stillman Park? Bring the family to enjoy the outdoors in a nature walk. There are plenty of bird species, wildflowers, turtles and catch and release fishing in Leon Creek. We have even seen deer at Stillman Park. You are welcome to bring your dogs but please remember to keep them on a leash and clean up after them.

Purchase a Joint Base San Antonio Recreation Park @ Canyon Lake annual pass for $100 for you and a spouse. Buy one and enjoy the lake all year. Outdoor Recreation Centers across Joint Base San Antonio offers a wide array of adventures and equipment to suit all thrill levels, but a new location-specific offering has just kicked the excitement up a notch.
JBSA-Lackland Outdoor Recreation (ODR) debuted a newly improved paintball park which is perfect for casual play, team building challenges, birthday parties or other special events.
Whether visitors are seasoned professionals or paintball beginners, expert ODR staff members are ready to help them make the most of their day by offering guidance, providing additional rental equipment such as padded shirts and pants, and acting as referees.
Groups with a minimum of 10 players ages 12 and older can reserve their time via phone or in-person one week in advance. Their reservation includes access to the 250-foot park as well as markers, hoppers, muzzle covers, protective masks and one bag of paint for only $25 per person for up to four hours of play.
Reservations start at noon or 1 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. on weekends. Reservations last for 4 hours.
Customers can purchase more ODR paintballs at an additional cost and can use other personal gear, such as paintball guns and protective clothing, for a reduced cost of $12.50.
Grab some friends and come out to the paintball park at JBSA-Lackland for a day of fun and excitement. The park is open seven days a week and the experienced staff is on hand to ensure visitors create memories to last a lifetime.

Dust off your running shoes and get ready to play Kickball! Kickball contains elements of soccer, softball and baseball. Current physical and immunization record required. Begin the summer months with physical fitness as one of your goals. Join us at our annual free fun run for youth and their families. Arrive at 8 a.m. for check-in, stretching and warm up exercises and then hit the road running. The event includes different distances for ages and experience levels.

JBSA Youth Programs is hosting a weeklong football training camp featuring the company MVP360, which encourages youth to rise up and be all that they can dream. The camp takes place at the Warhawk Fitness Center on JBSA-Lackland.
Participants will enjoy playing some football and doing conditioning drills to improve their performance. The cost of the week long camp is $15 for each youth.
