Fishing is year-round, so hit your favorite water spots around San Antonio and surrounding areas. Be sure to reserve the boat of your choice. Available boats include pontoon boats, ski boats and bass boats. For pricing, visit JBSAtoday.com and check out the Outdoor Recreation Brochures. Boater's safety certification and a DoD ID card are required to reserve a boat.

The RV Park has 74 full hookup RV pull-through sites with water, sewage and electricity. There are also two shower facilities and two laundry facilities for the customer’s convenience. All sites are 30/50 amp. Every site has a patio with a picnic table and 69 sites have a grill. There is a maximum stay limit of 30 days and reservations are taken up to 90 days in advance.

The rates are $30 per day, $180 per week and $650 per month. The cost for sponsored visitors is $35 per day. The RV Park Office is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mon.-Fri. and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat.-Sun. with limited services. The Park Office is closed on holidays. TRAIL RIDES

Saturdays and Sundays

Weekend trail rides are available for patrons seven and older for $30. All riders must arrive 30 minutes prior to their appointment time. Adults must accompany children under the age of 13. Riders must be at least 4 feet, 6 inches tall and weigh no more than 200 pounds. If you would like to set up a weekday trail ride, the cost is $40. Group rides and team-building rides are also available. Trail rides are by appointment only and no experience is required. Call to make a reservation.

RIDING LESSONS

The Equestrian Center offers horseback riding lessons for all levels of riders in both English/ Western-style. Horses, saddles and tack for lessons will be provided. Patrons must be at least 7 years old. The price

is $60 per hour for a private lesson, $50 for semi-private and $40 for group lessons. Ask about our package deals!

PONY RIDES AND PARTIES

Pony rides are available for children that do not meet trail ride requirements. They are first-come first-serve between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. By appointment only during the week. A covered deck with tables is available for parties for $50 a half day.

HORSE BOARDING

The Equestrian Center has paddocks for boarding your horse, a covered arena, two outdoor rings, a round pen, wash racks, a hot-walker and many more amenities, so call us for more information. Active-duty military personnel have priority.

The archery range has targets ranging from 10 to 60 yards at 10-yard intervals. The targets at the range are crossbow rated. A daily pass is $5. Guests must be in the same vehicle as the sponsor.

The Archery Range is located between Eberle Park and the East RV lot and is ready for target practice. Archery passes can be purchased at Outdoor Recreation, bldg. 895. EBERLE PARK AND HERITAGE PARK

Be sure to consider Eberle and Heritage Parks when planning your next family gathering or office party. Eberle and Heritage Parks must be reserved prior to use. The pavilions at both parks can be rented for $35. At Eberle Park you can also rent the grill and serving house for $20 each and all the facilities for only $50. Head to Outdoor Recreation (bldg. 895) to reserve Eberle or Heritage Park or give us a call.

SNORKELING AND BOAT TOUR AT SPRING LAKE

July 20 • 3-8:30 p.m.

Join a guided trip to Spring Lake in San Marcos, just an hour from the city, to explore aquatic life and learn about the Edwards Aquifer. The $65 fee includes round-trip transportation from Fort Sam Houston Outdoor Recreation, snorkeling gear, a wetsuit, flotation device and a boat tour. Open to ages 12 and older (minors must be with an adult) and participants must know how to swim.

WELLNESS AND ART RETREAT AT THE CIBOLO CENTER FOR CONSERVATION

Spend a day immersed in art, nature and mindfulness. Begin your experience with a walk through the nature center, surrounded by old cypress trees,

bird sounds and tranquil waters. We will break for lunch and reflection time. Following lunch there will be an opportunity for you to participate in a painting class where you can express your creative side by creating a nature-inspired painting to take home. SUN GAZING PARTY

10:30-11:30 a.m.

The park has two Hydrogen Alpha Telescopes which allow you to see the surface of the sun as well as features such as prominences and solar flares. They also have a white light filter for the parks 8 inch astronomy telescope which gives us the ability to see sun spots. While viewing the sun we can talk about its features, such as those listed earlier, and possibly build sun-based projects such as an eclipse viewer or rainbow generator.

WASHER TOURNAMENT

July 19, Aug. 16 and Sept 13 • 9 a.m.

Join us for a Washer Tournament at the JBSA Recreation Park Soccer Field. The overall winner of the three meets receives a free two-night stay at the park with the runner up receiving a free night, which are good for an entire year. Please join us at Canyon Lake at the Sunny Side beach for an hour and a half class on the kayaks and paddleboards. The cost is $20 per person. After the class the student may keep the equipment an extra hour at
