As the title reads, this is a list of some of the numerous Black inventors' inventions. Their contributions the quality of life nationally and often times globally. Granville T. Woods is an example with well over 40 patents to his name (only a few mentioned in this article). Woods in fact successfully defended his patents in court against the likes of Thomas Edison and Lucius Phelps; both well known white contemporary inventors who tried to take credit for Woods' inventions.
