As the summer months approach, you may experience dry and depleted skin. Here are some tips to keep your skin healthy and nourished.
HYDRATE: Use hydrating serums at night and SPF during the day. Keep an SPF compact in your bag for easy reapplication.
OUTSIDE FUN: Find a fun outdoor workout routine you can enjoy over the summer, exposing you to a wealth of vitamin D.
DETOX: Eat whole foods, prioritize protein from organic sources, and incorporate a digital detox to limit screen time before bed.
KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF: Set achievable weight-loss goals and targets with your healthcare provider’s help. Also, incorporate peptides to improve your journey.
What you eat and expose your body to also has a direct effect on how your body and skin look and feel every day.
A seasonal refresh doesn’t have to be complicated — small, proactive steps now can help you feel confident, energized, and glowing all summer long. To learn more or schedule a consultation, visit www.hollrahwellness.com — Nurse Carly, FNP-C

Between school drop-offs, homework, and practices, estate planning is easy to put off. But Louisiana’s legal system has rules that can catch families off guard and understanding them now can save your loved ones a lot of stress later.
Louisiana is the only state in the country that follows a civil law system. Two rules in particular affect every family with children:
Forced heirship means children under 24 (or in the alternative 23 and under) are legally entitled to a portion of your estate. If there’s no plan in place, this can limit what your surviving spouse is able to do with family assets, including the home you live in.
Community property means most assets earned during a marriage belong to both spouses equally. But when one spouse passes away, the survivor doesn’t automatically keep full control or get instant decision-making power. Without the right documents, even routine financial decisions can require court involvement.
This is also why estate plans fail constantly.
Generic online forms, old templates, and AIgenerated documents often create major issues and stress for families. A plan that looks complete on
paper can fail your family right when they need it most.
A well-crafted, tax-efficient estate plan from an experienced Louisiana attorney allows you to:
• Name a guardian for your children, someone you trust and choose yourself
• Give your surviving spouse clear authority over the family’s finances
• Outline your medical and financial wishes so no one is left guessing during a crisis
• Tax plan to minimize any potential tax burdens on your family and the estate
If you already have a plan, it may be time to revisit it. New children, a new home, or updated insurance policies can make an old plan outdated. And don’t forget to review your benefits on life insurance and retirement accounts. Those forms override your will.
You already do everything you can to protect your family. This is just putting it in writing.
Scan the QR code below or contact our office to schedule a consultation.
Thoughtful estate and tax planning ensures your loved ones are cared for today and for every year to come.

With Allure Dental, Dr. Eversgerd set out to create more than a traditional dental office. Ciji Lassus spent her childhood around construction sites with her father. Surrounded by blueprints and building plans, she developed a fascination with how spaces come together, later expressing that creativity, experimenting with paint colors and furniture layouts in her own room.
After 13 years in the design industry and experience running a small luxury design firm, Ciji launched CH Design Studio, a business that mirrors her distinct perspective and highly personalized approach.
At the core of Ciji’s work is a desire to create spaces that feel personal and impactful. Whether designing a boutique hotel or a private residence, she ensures each project reflects her clients’ stories. “My most rewarding moments,” she explains, “come from seeing a client’s face light up when they walk into their home for the first time.”
Ciji continues to evolve creatively, with recent projects highlighting a refined, timeless aesthetic. A newly completed new construction home in The Sanctuary, photographed in collaboration with Laura Steffan, showcases her ability to blend classic style with fresh perspective. She is also looking ahead to upcoming historic projects featuring vintage pieces, bold accents, and one-of-a-kind materials.
At home, Ciji’s life centers around her family. She and her husband stay busy raising their young son and daughter, embracing time outdoors and making the most of everyday moments. The Sanctuary is an important place for her where special memories have been made, including her daughter’s first birthday celebration at the country club.
With every project driven by CH Design Studio, Ciji balances creativity and intention, designing spaces that feel both timeless and deeply personal.

Madalyn Goff Artist

For Madalyn Goff, art is more than a profession—it’s a calling rooted in connection, healing, and purpose. Based in Madisonville, she brings a uniquely compassionate perspective to her work, shaped by a master’s degree in social work from Louisiana State University and a career dedicated to helping others. From supporting children and families at STARC to working with seniors and leading art therapy for cancer patients, her path has always centered on care.
That same spirit defines her art. Inspired early by her mother, artist Marilyn Cothren, Madalyn grew up immersed in creativity and never let go of it. Today, she creates custom, mixed-media pieces using acrylics, gold leaf, and textured elements, often collaborating closely with clients to bring deeply personal stories to life.
Her work leans whimsical rather than strictly realistic—designed to shift with light and emotion. Many of her pieces honor meaningful moments: a wedding day, a beloved pet, or the memory of a loved one. Each is created with intention, often accompanied by music and prayer, reflecting her belief that art can be both expressive and restorative. Recognized as a featured artist and selected to display work in regional hospitals, Goff also gives back through art therapy and community fundraising. Whether on canvas or in the lives she touches, her goal is simple: to create something that helps people feel seen, comforted, and uplifted.

Cristen Quick turned a lifelong love of celebrations into her business, Let’s Make Plans, an event planning company. After planning her own milestone parties and participating in more than 20 weddings, she discovered a passion for creating meaningful, beautifully detailed events for others. Raised on the Northshore and shaped by years as a competitive dancer, she brings discipline, creativity, and precision to every celebration. Cristen plans each event as if it were her own, with the assistance and devotion of her talented team, allowing clients to be fully present in their moments. As her business grows, she is expanding beyond Louisiana, continuing to create unforgettable experiences and connections.
Yvonne Pichoff founded Evolve Coffee + Matcha in 2020 after leaving a nearly decade-long career in finance to pursue entrepreneurship and a more creative path. At the time, matcha had captivated her, but New Orleans wasn’t as familiar with it, so she decided to introduce it alongside something the city already loved dearly-- coffee. By bringing the two together, she created a concept that felt both fresh and familiar. Born and raised in New Orleans, Yvonne built Evolve to be a place where people connect, teams grow, and the customer experience is continually elevated. What began as a single idea has since grown into multiple locations, with a new Mandeville shop opening this spring. With every opportunity, Yvonne continues to expand her brand with intention.

For founder Kathy LeBlanc, Cedarwood is more than a school—it’s the result of a lifetime shaped by community and a calling to education. From her childhood in an Air Force family to building a life on the Northshore with her husband of 50 years, her journey has been rooted in connection and purpose. While her four children were still young, she turned her vision into a legacy, one that continues to impact generations of students and families.
Kathy built Cedarwood School as a nurturing, joyful environment where children are known, valued, and inspired as whole individuals. Today, it is a community grounded in strong academics, meaningful relationships, and emotional development. Now serving as President, the most meaningful moments are when former students return with their own children.

I recently made the move to the North Shore—and it feels like home. While I was born and raised in New Orleans, I’ve spent years helping clients buy and sell here. Over time, it became more than just a market—it became personal. It’s the quiet beauty. The people. The balance of nature and growth. So I planted roots.
Because this has never just been about real estate—it’s about you.
Buying or selling is one of the most important financial decisions of your life. It’s your future, your investment, your peace of mind—and you deserve to feel protected every step of the way. That’s where I come in.
I guide, advocate, and negotiate on your behalf—especially when things get complex. With over $25M under contract and nearly $30M closed in the first quarter of 2026—including one of the largest commercial transactions in the New Orleans market—my focus remains the same: protecting my clients and getting results. Whether you’re buying, selling, or investing, I’m here to help you move forward with confidence.

Designer
Blaire Gremillion has always viewed spaces through color, texture, and possibility. Raised on the Northshore, she developed her “eye” antiquing with her mother, learning to mix old and new. After 11 years teaching elementary school, she stepped away to raise her children and her creative instinct resurfaced. Blaire turned a small side business into a full-time career, creating and now running a successful interior design business, Blaire Gremillion Interiors. She also recently launched a new aspect of her company, Bridged by Blaire, bridging the gap between consumers and the design world with a physical studio of trade only brands, furnishings, fabrics, and more, that will inspire your customized design. In both ventures, Blaire is guiding clients from concept to completion, designing homes that are personal, functional, and reflective of each family’s way of life.

Dr. Lauren Agnew built Eye Wares at the intersection of medicine and fashion, where clinical care meets personal transformation. “There aren’t many careers where you can remove a foreign body from someone’s eye, bring immediate relief, then collaborate with a Chanel representative on a trunk show or private event,” she explains. That duality defines both Dr. Agnew and the Eye Wares brand.
What began as a single location at the start of COVID-19 has grown into a thriving, multi-location practice beyond Mandeville, now in Covington, Metairie, and Magazine Street. There was a time when I measured my value by how full my books were. Today, things look very different.
Now, you’ll find me mentoring, coaching, and developing my talented team at Gray & Graham and salon owners all across our area. My time is spent face-to-face with stylists, sharing with them my deep passion and care for their craft. Their growth and their future matter to me. For me, business is deeply personal, where I work closely with stylists, not just teaching them technique, but teaching vision.
From my experience, I mentor them to think about the guests’ experience, how to think and move like a six-figure stylist, how to build a clientele with intention, and so many more lessons.
I want to pass on my professional knowledge to stylists, to show them it can give them a life and long-term security. Still, talent alone doesn’t build success.
Structure does. Standards do.

Giving your children access to purchases without carrying cash is a good first step in independence. Using a debit or credit card makes keeping track of their spending simple and adding card controls can help guard against fraud.
Think of the controls as a personal security dashboard for a debit or credit card—tools you can adjust anytime from your bank’s mobile app or online banking. One of the most powerful features is the ability to turn the card on or off instantly. If your son or daughter misplaces their wallet, you notice unusual activity, or you want to limit spending until you give the green light, a quick tap temporarily blocks all transactions.
Real‑time alerts let you know right away when a transaction is posting. With card controls you can set spending limits, restrict certain merchant types or designate authorized geographic locations! For Dianne Bolotte and Kay Cavagnaro, life has been made brighter—times two—by their beloved Papillons, Bandit (almost 10 years old) and Bella (seven years old). Their journey with the breed began at the Golden Gate Kennel Club Bench Show, where Dianne first fell for the charm of a “butterfly dog.” Not long after, their first Papillon joined the family—and they’ve been devoted ever since.
The name Papillon comes from the French word for “butterfly,” inspired by the breed’s signature ears—large, feathered, and always alert. These small dogs, typically 8–11 inches tall and around 10 pounds, carry themselves with elegance. Bandit and Bella, both sable and white, have long, silky coats that add to their graceful look (and yes, require plenty of grooming!).
But it’s their personalities that truly steal the show. Bandit earned his name by “stealing hearts,” and he lives up to it with his affectionate, loyal nature—always happiest close to his people. Bella, on the other hand, is a spirited little princess, full of energy and confidence. She thrives on playtime, especially when her favorite tiny tennis balls come out.
Despite their petite size, Papillons are wonderfully alert. Whether it’s the mail carrier, a drifting leaf, or even a curious gecko, Bandit and Bella are quick to sound the alarm—proof that big personalities can come in small packages.
These two aren’t just house pets, they’re seasoned travelers. From strolling the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, they’ve proven to be easygoing companions on the road.
At home, Bandit enjoys keeping watch from his favorite

spot under the dining room table or curling up on the sofa, while Bella is always ready for her next game of fetch. Together, they share one special trait: an unconditional love for everyone they meet.
For Dianne and Kay, the best part of Papillon life is simple; these dogs are joyful, loving, and endless companions. With lifespans that can reach 15–20 years, they’re not just pets, they’re lifelong friends with wings.

Rock Start Series offers Music Theory, age-appropriate techniques, and exposure to experience
Northlake Academy of Music’s weekly Rock Start Series gives students ages 4–13 the chance to experience every instrument in the band—drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, and voice—using fun, age-appropriate techniques. Students will build musical skills through rhythm games, pitch activities, theory play, and hands-on learning with real instruments.
Each child rotates through all roles in the band, gaining confidence and creativity with every session. Groups are kept small to ensure personal attention, and parents are invited to monthly Pop-Up Performances to celebrate progress and showcase each group’s song of the month. Spots are limited for each class—get ready to rock!

Summer in Beau Chêne is when our homes truly shine—long evenings, outdoor gatherings, and that signature Northshore lifestyle. It’s also the season where a little intention behind the scenes keeps everything running beautifully.
From a market standpoint, summer remains one of our most active times. Buyers are out, relocations pick up, and homes that feel fresh and well taken care of naturally stand apart. Even if selling isn’t on your radar, maintaining your home now preserves both comfort and long-term value.
Cyndi’s Summer Refresh List:
• Service your HVAC and replace filters often—comfort is everything this time of year.
• Power wash patios, walkways, and outdoor spaces for a clean, polished look.
• Refresh landscaping with light trimming and simple greenery—think clean, not overdone.
• Check drainage and gutters after storms to avoid hidden water issues.
• Seal doors and windows to keep cool air in and humidity out.
• Prep outdoor living areas—seating, lighting, and shade make all the difference for entertaining.
Beau Chêne living is about ease, beauty, and connection, and summer is the perfect time to enjoy it all.

As the final phase of the Community Playground Legacy Campaign comes to a close, Beau Chêne is proud to announce the addition of several new features and enhancements to the community playground.
This milestone marks the successful completion of a campaign that reflects the spirit, pride, and long-term investment of our residents. What began as a vision to improve a recreational amenity became something much greater—a collective effort to create a lasting legacy for Beau Chêne families.
Through the generosity of our community, children now enjoy:
• New interactive play panels
• Climbing and activity structures
• Additional seating areas
• Improved safety surfacing and defined play zones
These enhancements create a welcoming space where children can play, families can gather, and memories will be made for generations.

Beau Chêne is honored to formally recognize the residents and families whose names are permanently memorialized on the Playground Recognition Wall. Their generosity has created a lasting gift for our community. Your support has helped shape a space that will be enjoyed for many, many years. On behalf of the Association and the entire Beau Chêne community, thank you for your tremendous generosity and commitment to Beau Chêne.

Returning to the very pool that started it all, Mike Stanton—owner of Oasis Pools and Spas—was blessed to receive a call from the owner of his childhood home. “We serendipitously found Oasis due to their unique connection to the house I purchased. The prior owner stated that the Stanton family of Oasis Pools and Spas lived there as children,” said the current owner, who was looking for a backyard renovation.
In fact, the Stanton last name is etched into the driveway at the property. Mike and his sons were over the moon when they found they would have the opportunity to build a pool in the same yard where Mike had built one so many years ago with their grandfather and uncles. His journey into the pool-building industry started in that very spot. When he was 12 years old, Mike’s father decided to install a pool in the family backyard, enlisting Mike and his brothers to help. That hands-on project sparked a passion that would define his career. After graduating from Loyola University, Mike turned that early experience into a profession, launching Oasis Pools and Spas with a clear purpose: to bring genuine craftsmanship and reliability to an industry he believed could do better.
More than twenty-five years later, Oasis Pools and Spas has earned a reputation for quality, honesty, and lasting customer relationships, values Mike traces back to his parents’ example of hard work and integrity.
Now working alongside his two sons, Michael and Nick, they continue to push the business forward by keeping up with new technologies and maintaining uncompromising quality standards. So when his childhood home came knocking, he excitedly heeded the call. The initial plan grew to a much larger plan covering the entire backyard with a pool, hot tub, water feature wall with fire bowls, a state-of-the-art stay-in-place swim system, putting green, and a basketball court. “They were always very accommodating as I continued to modify the plan,” the client explained. “It was really great to have a family involved that was easy to talk to and prompt in responsiveness, while providing a sense of security that everything was going to be performed to the utmost standards. A pool is made of water and stone, but this one was built with memories and a sense of coming home. Built by the hands that once played here, for my family that will grow here.”

1. Let light lead the design.
Summer is about embracing light as a design element. Open drapery, simplify window treatments, and allow sunlight to become part of the experience of the room.
2. Introduce reflective layers.
Incorporate glass, acrylic, or mirrored accents to softly reflect light and create a brighter, more open feeling without adding visual weight.
3. Lighten the visual weight of metals. Layer in lighter metal finishes like brushed brass, champagne bronze, or polished nickel to subtly warm and lift your space.
4. Style with intention (and restraint).
Summer styling is refined, not full. Create breathing room between objects so each piece can be appreciated.
5. Soften the palette with subtle pattern. Replace heavier patterns with tone-on-tone or barely there designs that add depth without heaviness.
6. Create movement through form.
Incorporate curved silhouettes and soft draping elements to give the room a relaxed, effortless flow.
7. Refresh your entry moment.
A simplified entry with one or two intentional elements sets the tone for the entire home.
8. Restyle book and decorative layers. Edit down and lighten your book styling—neutral tones, fewer stacks, and cleaner arrangements.
9. Blur the line between indoors and outdoors.
Echo materials, tones, and textures across your indoor and outdoor spaces to create one cohesive experience.
10. Finish with a sensory layer.
Complete the space with scents like clean linen, citrus, or soft florals. Design is more than what you see, it’s about a fully immersive experience that dictates how you feel in a space.

A summer home doesn’t require a complete redesign, just a thoughtful shift. When light, texture, and restraint work together, the result is a space that feels calm, welcoming, and beautifully lived in.

The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) has supported American soldiers since its founding in 1950. A voice for active-duty troops, AUSA has become a nationwide organization that champions the needs of all Army-connected individuals, including veterans, reserve members, and military families. The AUSA New Orleans chapter symbolizes this mission with a local touch.
With over 270,000 veterans in Louisiana, AUSA NOLA serves as a bridge between the military and civilian communities. The AUSA NOLA chapter hosts events like the Annual Army Birthday Ball, a patriotic celebration that honors Army tradition while bringing together service members, veterans, and supporters in unity and gratitude.
Beyond celebration, AUSA NOLA is dedicated to results. The chapter awards annual scholarships to deserving students, many of whom are veterans or military dependents. These scholarships help offset
educational costs while recognizing the leadership potential of the next generation.
Understanding the challenges of military-tocivilian transitions, AUSA NOLA actively partners with local and national organizations to connect veterans with job opportunities, housing resources, and mental health support. The chapter also leads community outreach, engaging schools, businesses, and civic groups to foster greater awareness and appreciation for military service.
At its core, AUSA NOLA is about service, not just to soldiers, but to the entire Louisiana community. The chapter honors the Army’s legacy through advocacy, education, and hands-on involvement while building a stronger and connected future.
In a time when national unity and support for the military are more critical than ever, AUSA NOLA continues to benefit those who serve, reminding us that supporting our soldiers is a shared responsibility.

At just 12 years old, Bridges Allen is already marching to the beat of his own drum, sometimes quite literally. A 7th grader at Mandeville Junior High, Bridges has discovered his passion in the band room, where music is more than a class, it’s his favorite place to be.
His musical journey began at age six, when he started piano lessons at Middle C Music under the guidance of Mrs. Anna Normand. Since then, he’s explored everything from classical compositions to jazz and rock, with a special appreciation for the music of Billy Joel and Elton John. By 4th grade, his talent earned him a spot in his school’s talented music program, where he continues to thrive.
In 5th grade, Bridges added percussion to his repertoire, expanding his musical skillset even further. Today, he plays both piano and drums, and was recently chosen by his band director, Mr. Lyons, to serve as the Jazz Band pianist—an honor that reflects both his dedication and talent. Under Mr. Lyons’ leadership, the band regularly earns top marks in regional competitions, including a recent standout performance at Southeastern University.
hopes to continue excelling in both piano and percussion, join the robotics team, and maybe one day combine his love of music and engineering—after a fun detour playing music on a cruise ship, of course.

At home in Beau Chêne, Bridges is surrounded by a supportive and lively family—his mom Erin, an interior designer; his dad Zach, a civil engineer; and his older brothers, Jackson and Sawyer. Whether they’re traveling together or heading to concerts (with an exciting trip to see Blues Traveler and Better Than Ezra at Red Rocks on the horizon), music is always part of the mix.
When he’s not practicing, Bridges enjoys spending time with friends, building creative Lego designs, and experimenting with his 3D printer. Looking ahead, he
