Pain Management Aesthetics and Wellness

Dr. Tod Aust isn’t your typical physician. Intense yet approachable, passionate yet compassionate, he thrives on cases others call hopeless. An interventional pain management specialist, Dr. Aust blends cutting-edge medical technology with the art of listening, crafting personalized plans for patients with complex, long-term pain. His motto, “Pain Relief without Pain Pills,” guides every interaction, emphasizing education, empowerment, and partnership to reduce and, eventually, eliminate the need for opioid use. By addressing multiple overlapping pain sources, 95% of his patients achieve lasting improvement.

Michael Beninato’s journey into medicine began with physical therapy and deepened through his military service. For over 20 years as a practicing physician’s assistant, he specialized in orthopedic and spine surgery. He has fully transitioned to interventional pain management , wellness and aesthetics.

As Dr. Aust’s partner, Beninato is expanding the practice to what he sees as the future of medicine: weight loss, aesthetics, hormone therapy, and regenerative care. “In my opinion,” he explains, “the future of medicine is avoiding chronic illness by maximizing health and wellness, and I want to be at the forefront of this paradigm change.”

It is a privilege and a pleasure to continue to work with my Beau Chene neighbors and friends. This year I am celebrating 30 years of Listing/Selling over 250 homes in Beau Chene with Coldwell Banker TEC!

the allen FAMILY

Life in the Allen household is rarely quiet—and that’s exactly the way they like it. With three active boys, two energetic dogs, and a steady soundtrack of drums, piano, and laughter drifting through the rooms, their Beau Chene home is a lively snapshot of family life in motion.

Erin and Zach Allen, along with their sons—Jackson (16), Sawyer (15), and Bridges (12)—made the move to Beau Chene in 2018 after twenty-five years in New Orleans. For Erin, returning to this neighborhood felt more like coming home than starting fresh. She grew up in Mandeville, and Beau Chene was woven into her childhood long before she ever lived here. “So many of my friends lived in the neighborhood, and we were members of the club,” she recalls. “By my junior year, we finally moved in. It always felt like home.”

So when the Allens began to consider life back on the Northshore, the decision was easy. Beau Chene wasn’t just on the list—it was the list.

An Intentional Design

Their home, originally built in 1994, has seen a steady transformation since they arrived. Erin, an interior designer with a knack for vision (and for managing simultaneous projects), has redesigned much of the home herself. The kitchen has been reworked, a walk-in pantry and mudroom added, and part of the garage now serves as a family gym. She renovated the guest bathroom with a striking herringbone Chicago brick shower, converted a bedroom into a functional study, modernized the bar area into a welcoming coffee-and-wine station, updated windows and doors, and added new sets of French doors that brighten the home. Even the exterior received a bold new look.

“There’s always a project going on,” Erin admits with a smile. “I’m always dreaming up something new.” Their next focus: the pool area and backyard—the center of many family gatherings.

Yet the most meaningful spaces in the house are the ones that hold Erin’s heart rather than her design plans. Her prayer

once sat in a bar in the French Quarter. Its keys still bear cigarette burn marks left by long-gone musicians. Erin found it for $300 online. Another favorite is her vintage typewriter —an estate sale find for $50 guests can’t resist tapping, even if just for a moment.

The most sentimental piece is their cypress dining table. Handmade by Cajun craftsmen for her father when she was a child, the table was originally built for a beer commercial. It survived Hurricane Katrina as the only piece of furniture salvageable from her childhood home. Underneath, her father carved her mother’s initials inside a heart—a detail that has made the table priceless to Erin.

closet tucked under the stairs is her small sanctuary: a quiet, personal space filled with Bibles, study guides, and walls covered in handwritten prayer requests from loved ones. It’s where she seeks peace and direction in the midst of busy days.

Her second favorite place is the study she designed, complete with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Alongside her own collection sit the books that belonged to her father, who passed away nearly fifteen years ago. “Having his books around makes him feel close,” she says.

Stories in Every Piece

Despite her appreciation for the fine craftsmanship she chooses for clients, Erin’s own furniture leans heavily on charm and secondhand character. Her home is a curated mix of pieces passed down from family, rescued from the side of the road, or purchased on Facebook Marketplace and given new life. “I love furniture with a story,” she says.

Family life in the Allen home is full of traditions. In winter, the living room becomes the gathering spot for “family movie night,” complete with the fireplace on, hot chocolate ready, and a snack bowl of popcorn mixed with pretzels and M&Ms—an Allen classic. Just steps away, a dining-room jigsaw puzzle is almost always in progress. Family members stop to puzzle throughout the day, and when the final piece goes in, it becomes a small celebration. There’s usually a friendly argument over who gets to place the last piece.

Boys in Rhythm

The three boys have each found their rhythm in Beau Chene. Jackson, a musician through and through, fills the house with drums and guitar. “Even the neighbors get to enjoy,” Erin jokes. Sawyer, a freshman at Mandeville High, is the athlete of the family—working out regularly, playing golf, and joining friends for pickleball games. Bridges is both a musician and a builder. He plays piano and drums in the Mandeville Junior High band and enjoys robotics, Legos, and being active in the Positive Attitude (PA) Troupe.

The neighborhood offers the boys the freedom Erin always hoped they’d have: the ability to ride bikes, walk to friends’ houses, and enjoy amenities like tennis, golf, fishing, and the pool. Erin and Zach also value the close-knit

Some pieces come with stories that practically tell themselves. The Allens’ antique piano, over 100 years old, k

community. “Most everyone here is kind and generous,” she says, recalling the generosity of her neighbors who have supported her own nonprofit work. “It was incredibly encouraging.”

The Family that Plays Together Stays Together

Family travel is a big part of their life. They take annual beach and mountain trips, and this year they’re looking forward to a New Year’s Eve stop at Busch Gardens before heading off on a cruise to the islands. “We’re definitely a roller-coaster family,” Erin says. Alongside puzzling, another long-standing hobby the Allens share is building Lego sets. Before the boys were born, Erin and Zach would make a date night out of assembling a new set over a bottle of wine. As the boys grew, Legos became a full family activity. Their favorite tradition is the annual Lego Christmas village, expanded each year with a new set and displayed prominently in the kitchen.

Of course, no profile of the Allen family is complete without mentioning their pups; Grits, a miniature schnauzer, has been with them for nine years and remains the “best Christmas present ever” by unanimous vote, and Roux, a tiny Maltipoo with a big personality, has earned a list of nicknames—Poo Poo Roux, Rouxdini, Tinkle Bell, and Ms. Take—thanks to her adventurous spirit and occasional accidents. “As much as I joke about finding her a new home, I couldn’t part with her,” Erin says.

A Perfect Fit

In Beau Chene, the Allen family has discovered more than a place to live—they’ve found a setting that feels deeply right. The neighborhood’s familiar charm and welcoming spirit echo the sense of belonging Erin remembers from her own childhood, creating an environment where the entire family feels perfectly placed. With each new memory made, whether biking through the neighborhood or completing a puzzle around the dining room table, the Allens continue to build a life rich in warmth and intention.

New Year’s Resolution: Don’t Leave Your Family Guessing

Here’s an uncomfortable truth: most of us spend more time planning our next tee time than planning what happens to our family if we’re gone.

If something happened to you tomorrow, would your spouse know where to find everything? Who would make financial and medical decisions? Would your kids be cared for by the person you’d choose? Would your business survive? Would family heirlooms end up in the right hands or in court?

That’s why having an estate plan matters! You’ve lived life on your terms; make sure your legacy does the same.

Why Families Choose My Firm:

I start by understanding your personal story, your children, your business, your wishes—not just your assets. Then we build a plan that protects all of it in a way that you understand.

Most estate attorneys stop at the documents. I go deeper. With a master’s in tax law, I see opportunities others miss. I work with your wealth advisors and CPAs to achieve your goals. Whether it’s structuring your business succession to reduce tax burden, protecting

assets for the next generation, or maximizing what your family keeps, I bring a strategic advantage to your corner.

Who am I?

If you couldn’t tell by my last name, I’m a Louisiana boy. I’ve practiced law for over a decade. My family lives here in Beau Chêne, and my kids play on the same streets we all share. We see each other at the club, at the store, and around town. When you sit in my office, you’re not a file number; you’re a family I look forward to serving for years to come. If we haven’t already met, I would love to get to know you.

Let’s Talk:

Call or scan the QR code below to set up your consultation. Estate and tax laws change often. Let me handle the complexity so you can have real peace of mind in 2026 and beyond.

WINTER REAL ESTATE TIPS

How to Love Your Home Again in the New Year

January and February are the perfect months to reconnect with the place you spend the most time— your home. With a few intentional touches, you can make it feel fresh, calm, and beautifully “you” again.

Create one space you look forward to.

A cozy morning corner, a sunny kitchen chair, or a favorite seat on the patio. Add a throw, a candle, or a favorite mug and make it a daily ritual.

Refresh a single room.

Swap pillows, update lamps, add greenery, or reorganize one drawer. Small edits make a big difference.

Fix one thing that quietly frustrates you.

The clutter drop zone, the mail pile, the cabinet that sticks—remove one stress point, and the whole home feels lighter.

Reclaim forgotten spaces.

Turn an unused corner, entry area, or patio space into something functional or beautiful.

Add one small luxury.

Fresh flowers, a new fragrance diffuser, a soft throw, or a piece of art that makes you smile.

A home doesn’t need a remodel to feel brand new—just intention, warmth, and a few thoughtful touches to start the year with joy.

Dylan Jesse Post MEET YOUR beau chêne NEIGHBOR: teen spotlight

Leading the Wolves, Chasing the Future

For the past five years, Saint Paul’s Catholic School has been more than a campus for Senior Dylan Jesse Post—it’s been the training ground where he transformed from a young fan in the stands into the All-State Captain of the Wolves. As he prepares to graduate with the Class of 2026, Dylan stands as a testament to what relentless effort, discipline, and heart can accomplish.

Growing up, Dylan played flag football, not tackle. His mom, concerned about his safety, decided he should wait to play tackle football until he was in the 7th grade. And although many future varsity players had already been competing in pads for years, Dylan didn’t let that deter him. Rather, his years cheering on the Wolves from the bench as a little kid ignited a flame inside of him. “What inspired me to play football was seeing the Saint Paul’s Wolves as a little kid,” Dylan explains. “I saw the work ethic, the brotherhood, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that someday.”

When he finally joined the program, he quickly realized he was behind—not in passion, but in experience. Others had years of fundamentals and technique under their belts. Dylan had to build everything from scratch. So he did.

“I immediately started working in 8th grade,” he says. “Freshman year, I started to grind out everything I did.” That work ethic became his trademark. He earned a spot on varsity special teams as a freshman, calling it “the coolest thing ever,” and each year brought more progress, more playing time, more trust from coaches and more responsibility. By his junior year, he had fought his way into a starting role, delivering one of the strongest seasons of his career.

It’s that same commitment that led to him being named team captain as a senior, one of the highest honors within the Saint Paul’s football program. “I became a captain because of my work ethic, positivity, and competitiveness,” Dylan says. “Every rep I went through, I went 110%. One thing I was told was that my attitude was contagious.”

Off the field, Dylan approaches academics with the same mindset. For him, balancing school and athletics was never a burden—it was a priority. “Student comes before athlete,” he says. “Get your work done first, then go have some fun and ball out.” His dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed by programs

beyond Saint Paul’s. Southern Louisiana University became the first Division I school to offer him placement on the football team fall 2026. They were drawn not only to his talent, but to his personality and fit within their culture. After meeting the coaching staff and players, the decision became clear.

“Considering how close to home it was, it was a no-brainer,” he says. “I’m very excited about my future there, and I know I can make a difference.”

Away from football, Dylan is all about good times and the outdoors. He enjoys golfing, fishing, and hunting whenever he gets the chance, true benefits of living in a neighborhood that offers plenty of opportunities.

Family has been the backbone of his journey. “My whole family has been so supportive of me over the years, and I owe everything to them,” he says. His favorite family tradition? Trips to Jackson Hole—his top vacation spot.

As he prepares for graduation and the next chapter at SLU, Dylan leaves behind a legacy defined not just by his achievements on and off the field, but by the work behind them. From a late start to All-State honors, from a fan in the stands to a captain on the field, his story is one of perseverance—and it’s only beginning.

beau chêne residents major family pet

Rip Van Stickle

Meet Mr. Rip Van Stickle, lovingly nicknamed “Rip” or “Ripper” by his adoptive human family, in his cozy home nestled deep within Beau Chêne. Lainey, his adoptive human mommy, gushes over her sweet, hairy child: “Rip is a good ol’ lab, and he’s got all the classic lab qualities, struggling daily to balance his three most favorite things: being as close to his people as possible, eating, and playing fetch with any ball he can find.”

Rip is treated just like another child in the family, joining the brood at ten weeks old when Lainey was pregnant with her daughter. “The two of them have completely grown up together,” Lainey says, recalling the sweet memories her little one and Rip have created together over the past five years. He wants to be near his sister as much as he is able, and when it’s not too hot outside, he loves to pick her up from the carpool line!

When the family decided it was time to add a pet, they knew exactly the kind of demeanor they wanted in a dog. “We wanted a very gentle, family-friendly dog, and Rip fits the bill one thousand percent!”

Rip’s love for his family extends to his mom and dad; he is truly a mommy’s boy. Rip is Lainey’s “favorite work buddy,” cuddling close to her side all day long while she works from home. When Mom needs a mid-day coffee break at PJ’s Coffee, that also means a pup cup for Rip from his favorite Barista. And when Dad gets home from work, Rip is always ready for a fierce game of catch.

There is everything to love about this loyal, tender yet rambunctious pup; even his vast amounts of yellow hair seem like a gift to the family—a friendly reminder of him “all day, every day,” Lainey lovingly shares. His antics are adorable, too. You can’t help but smile when Lainey tells the pumpkin story of how Rip grew a very fruitful pumpkin patch in their front

yard from eating a pumpkin last year and fertilizing the yard with its seeds—another unintentional yet thoughtful gift.

A gift indeed! Rip has truly blessed the Major family ever since they adopted him from their friends in West Virginia five years ago. Now, home in Beau Chêne, the family treasures every moment with their good ol’ sweet and goofy lab.

interior design Tips by beau chêne Resident

of Blaire Gremillion Interiors

A Fresh Start for the Home You’re Already In START EARLY

A new year is the perfect time to think about what is working in your home and what is not. Design takes time. Furniture, lighting, rugs, and upholstery often come with long lead times. Starting early means more options, smoother timelines, and a home that looks intentional instead of rushed.

SMALL CHANGES, BIG IMPACT

Begin by editing your surfaces. Clear the clutter and bring back only the pieces that truly make you smile. It’s that artwork with a great story, a fun fabric you’ve had your eye on for years, or the vintage china you scored at an estate sale that sets the tone for an entire room. And remember, the goal is not to copy what you see online. A designer’s eye can help you pull out what you actually love and create a home that reflects your style, not someone else’s.

COLOR AND CONTRAST MATTER

A painted built in, a statement lampshade, or mixing modern art with traditional furniture adds instant personality. And if you have been waiting for a sign to try wallpaper, consider this it. A bold pattern in a powder room is small, but the impact is big. Mix in textures like linen, velvet, wood, and natural fibers for a look that feels collected over time instead of decorated in a day.

FUNCTION COMES FIRST

Homes often have lighting, storage, or layout quirks that simply do not support the way we live today. A few thoughtful changes can make all the difference. In a recent neighborhood project, we transformed an enclosed porch turned sunroom into four distinct zones: a place to gather, a place to play, a place to work, and a place to relax. Now the space looks beautiful and finally works for the family who uses it every day.

REFRESH OR

RENOVATE

Whether you are tweaking decor or rethinking your floor plan entirely, the best results come from starting early and having a designer who can guide the process from the first conversation to the final layer. If you are thinking about refreshing a room or reimagining how your home functions, let’s explore the possibilities and create a space that truly supports the way you live.

krewe of eve

Non Profit

Forty Years of Sisterhood and Service

For nearly four decades, the Krewe of Eve has been a beloved symbol of celebration, community, and women’s fellowship on the Northshore. Founded in 1986, this all-female Mardi Gras organization has grown from a visionary idea shared by six women into the Northshore’s premier parade krewe—now boasting 775 members and the largest parade in the region. What began with 260 riders rolling through the streets of Mandeville has blossomed into a cherished local institution committed not only to carnival revelry but to meaningful service and year-round connection.

The Krewe of Eve was born from a simple but powerful desire: to bring the vibrant traditions of Carnival, long celebrated on the Southshore, to the people of the Northshore. The founders envisioned more than a once-a-year parade. They dreamed of an organization rooted in fellowship, creativity, and community support—values the Krewe continues to uphold forty years later. Today, Eve’s members form a strong sisterhood defined by shared experiences, lifelong friendships, and a deep commitment to giving back.

Each year, the Krewe of Eve dazzles thousands with its signature night parade through Mandeville. Beautifully illuminated floats, imaginative costumes, and joyful riders create an unforgettable spectacle. The parade is known for its generous throws—especially LED and custom Krewe items—which light up the night and thrill spectators of all ages. For the Northshore community, the Eve parade is more than an event; it’s a cherished tradition and a symbol of local pride.

the bonds among Eve Girls and keep the spirit of Carnival alive well beyond parade season.

As the Krewe approaches its Ruby Anniversary in 2026, the excitement is greater than ever. Leading this milestone year are Queen Eve XL Melody Menard and King Adam XL Cary Menard, joined by their Royal Court.

Yet the Krewe’s impact reaches far beyond Mardi Gras. Eve members actively support numerous charitable programs throughout the year. They are devoted contributors to the Greater Mandeville Police Foundation Toy Drive, ensuring children in need receive Christmas gifts. They also regularly assist Safe Harbor, the local shelter for victims of domestic violence, by donating essential items for women and families in crisis.

Eve’s philanthropic spirit extends even further. The organization is an official sponsor of Mandeville’s Night Out Against Crime and supports the local Food Bank whenever there is a community need. Members also donate candy for Granny Gertie’s Christmas Stocking Giveaway, providing holiday cheer to children across the area. This year, Eve contributed used crayons to Mina’s Mission, a nonprofit dedicated to creating inclusive environments for children with disabilities. Additionally, the Krewe recently partnered with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office to support breast cancer awareness through its “Pinkster” initiative. The Krewe’s First Annual Golf Tournament also selected Brooke It Forward—a nonprofit providing birthday boxes for children—as its charitable beneficiary.

At its core, the Krewe of Eve is a celebration of friendship, creativity, and community. Throughout the year, members gather for festive events including the Royal Court Announcement, the Dinner Dance and Court Presentation, Eve Night Out events, float parties, workshops, and craft days. These gatherings strengthen

With community needs guiding future expansion, Covington Trace remains committed to early detection, prevention, and continual improvement of patient outcomes.

Covington Trace accepts all major commercial insurance plans. While federal regulations prevent acceptance of Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare, the team is dedicated to helping patients understand their coverage and find the right care pathways.

With innovation, compassion, and community at its core, Covington Trace ER & Hospital continues to raise the bar for healthcare on the Northshore.

Note From Beau Chêne Country Club’s (BCCC) Vice President

Mark Inman

When my grandfather created this community fifty years ago, I don’t believe he ever imagined what it would be today. It is not only a source of pride that we have the privilege of continuing his legacy, but we also cherish the relationships we have built with the residents and members of the club. There is a sense of connection among all of us, knowing we have something special here!

My wife and I chose to return home to raise our family here, as many others have done. It’s been so rewarding to see so many generations of families come back to Beau Chêne to write the next chapter of their stories. We can only hope we leave it better than we found it for the ones that come in the future—but I suppose it is easy to do in such a wonderful and timeless community.

beau Chêne COUNTRY CLUB

Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence

For half a century, Beau Chêne Country Club (BCCC) has stood at the heart of the Beau Chêne community, shaping not only the landscape of Western St. Tammany but also the lifestyle of those who call it home. Established in 1975 as the centerpiece of the newly developing Beau Chêne Community, the club was the vision of developers Morgan Earnest and Lester Kabacoff, who set out to create a place where recreation, leisure, and natural beauty blended seamlessly.

In 1985, Morgan Earnest acquired Kabacoff’s interest and formed The Earnest Corporation (TEC), allowing the club and community to continue growing under dedicated, family-guided leadership. When Morgan passed in 1999, ownership transitioned to his children— including his daughter, Margie Earnest Inman—ensuring that the stewardship of both the club and the community remained deeply rooted in family values. In 2016, the Inman family consolidated ownership, and today, the Inman Family proudly remains at the helm of TEC and BCCC. Chris Inman is currently serving as President of the BCCC, and, over the past 26 years, he has supported the growth of the club in every aspect. Their hands-on involvement and commitment to preserving the club’s mission have sustained a legacy of quality, community connection, and warm hospitality that has defined Beau Chêne Country Club for 50 years.

At the core of Beau Chêne Country Club’s appeal is its impressive selection of recreational activities. With 36 championship holes of golf, the club has long been a haven for golf enthusiasts. Recent upgrades, including Trackman technology at the driving range, new putting greens, and a chipping area with a sand bunker, ensure members have top-tier facilities for practice and improvement. Beyond golf, the club offers an expansive swimming complex, eight tennis courts (including one indoor court), six pickleball courts (two of which are indoor), and a fully renovated fitness center complete with on-site childcare. The clubhouse features two restaurants offering both upscale and casual dining, as well as event spaces that accommodate gatherings ranging from intimate dinners to weddings for up to 400 guests.

What makes BCCC truly unique, however, is its commitment to fostering community connections. In partnership with the Beau Chêne Homeowners Association, the club hosts several annual

events that bring residents together—concerts on the greens, a dazzling Fourth of July fireworks show, and the beloved Turkey Trot Fun Run held each year before Thanksgiving. For families, the club’s calendar is filled with memorable experiences: Breakfast with Santa, Teddy Bear Tea, pumpkin painting, Halloween festivities, and plenty more. Adults enjoy wine dinners, bourbon events, bingo nights, and exceptional culinary offerings from Executive Chef Hosie Bourgeois, who has crafted scratch-made favorites at the club for more than 20 years.

Members of Beau Chêne Country Club enjoy benefits that go well beyond amenities. The club serves as a community hub—an extension of home where friendships grow, holidays become traditions, and everyday life feels elevated. Members gain access to expert-led tennis, pickleball, fitness programs, summer camps, swim teams, and exceptional dining and catering. The setting itself, lush and picturesque, offers a peaceful retreat without ever leaving the neighborhood.

Looking ahead, the club continues to innovate and entertain. One of the most anticipated upcoming offerings is a special member-only evening with comedian Mary Ryan Brown—just one example of the elevated programming members can expect throughout the year.

For residents of Beau Chêne and beyond, membership at BCCC means embracing the best of resort-style living. And importantly, you don’t need to live in Beau Chêne to join—or even to host an event at the club. As one of the region’s premier venues for weddings, private celebrations, and corporate events, Beau Chêne Country Club is frequently praised by photographers for its stunning setting and exceptional service.

After 50 remarkable years, Beau Chêne Country Club continues to set the standard for the community in recreation, hospitality, and long-lasting relationships.

Business Spotlight ROOFTOP SOLUTIONS

A 360-Degree Approach to Quality Roofing

When Brian Olagues founded Rooftop Solutions in early 2024, he brought with him nearly two decades of hands-on roofing expertise, a deep understanding of stormrelated claims, and a commitment to craftsmanship that sets his company apart. But more than that, he brought a desire to return to the kind of personal, detail-oriented service that only a small, owner-driven business can offer.

Brian’s entrepreneurial journey began long before Rooftop Solutions. In 2016, he launched Rocket Restorations, and for six years, the company ran at high-volume production—a pace that taught Brian valuable lessons but left him longing to get closer to the work itself. “I wanted to get back to a smaller company,” he explains. Selling his ownership stake allowed him to reset, refocus, and build something new with a more hands-on philosophy. That vision became Rooftop Solutions.

Based on the Northshore and serving communities like Beau Chêne, Rooftop Solutions specializes in residential roofing, along with siding, painting, and gutter services. But the company’s true differentiator lies in Brian’s extensive industry background. His roofing career began in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, knocking on doors to help homeowners navigate insurance claims after storm damage. This was an experience that built both technical knowledge and empathy during our region’s most challenging years.

From there, Brian spent years traveling the country as a subcontractor for a national roofing company before shifting to the supply side. He worked for major shingle distributors, including what is now QXO and later joined Atlas Roofing Corporation as a sales representative covering the entire state of Louisiana. The breadth and depth of that experience—contracting, distribution, and manufacturing—gives him a rare 360-degree understanding of the roofing industry.

At Rooftop Solutions, that expertise translates into

meticulous quality control. The company hand-nails every shingle, a craft-focused method increasingly rare in today’s industry. Brian is on-site for every installation, ensuring his standards are upheld. He has been FORTIFIED certified since 2020, offering homeowners enhanced protection against hurricanes and severe weather.

Brian also emphasizes the importance of homeowner education. “Get to know who you’re hiring,” he advises. “Make sure a permit is pulled before work begins. Not all shingles are the same, and all vents should be replaced during a roof installation.” His approach centers on transparency, communication, and doing the job right the first time.

A proud graduate of Jesuit High School and Loyola University, Brian brings deep local roots and a genuine commitment to serving his community. Through Rooftop Solutions, Beau Chêne residents have a trusted, knowledgeable roofer ready to protect the homes and families that make the neighborhood special.

Aperitif, located on the lakefront in Mandeville at 1943 Lakeshore Drive inside a historic cottage setting, is a unique restaurant that offers upscale food with several small plates and full entrees to enjoy. Aperitif is owned by renowned restauranteurs and husband and wife duo Cayman and Sara Sinclair, former owners of the popular Lakehouse restaurant. Besides first-class food, Aperitif boasts an upscale bar serving up creative and seasonal cocktails and mocktails. The food menu offers a little something for everyone. Inventive appetizers include Thai royal red shrimp vermicelli salad with pickled lime and sweet chili, heavenly crawfish and mozzarella arancini balls, and my favorite warm lobster rolls which feature generous portions of butter-poached Maine lobster meat on a toasted brioche bun with a flavorful tarragon aioli. Also, the wedge salad is the perfect starter if you choose to dine on Aperitif’s classic steak au poivre. Speaking of entrées, Aperitif offers incredible options designed to satisfy any pallet. I’m a huge steak au poivre fan and Aperitif’s take on this classic French dish is second to none. The star of this dish is the peppercorn brandy sauce reduced just enough to to form a velvety sauce that covers a tender filet mignon. Whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus are the perfect accompaniment to this dish. This dish rivaled one of the best steak au poivre dishes I ever had at Le Diplomate Restaurant in Washington D.C. Pro tip: add Aperitif’s famous truffle fried as a side to experience the full French “steak and frites” adventure. Additionally, the braised short ribs are served atop green chili cheese grits with a sauce bordelaise. This hearty dish hits all the right buttons for anyone craving a flavorful bite. For those seeking seafood, the scallop and shrimp Clemenceau is absolutely

Why cook at home when you can go out in Mandeville and explore some delicious and festive dining experiences minutes from your house? There are so many amazing dining options that we as Northshore residents can choose when we want a nice night out or simply don’t feel like cooking. Recently, I had the opportunity to dine at two up-and-coming restaurants in Mandeville. Aperitif and Odelia are both welcome hot spots that offer outstanding dining experiences in upscale settings.

divine. How does pancetta-wrapped scallops and royal red shrimp laced with a light lemon crème sound? The thought alone has my stomach grumbling and a desire to jump in my car and speed over to Aperitif for a glass of white wine and this seafood dish. Seriously, this dish must be protected at all costs and must never be removed from the menu. As the final plates were cleared from my table, the mango sorbet arrived like a bright exclamation point to an already memorable meal. The texture was impossibly smooth and icy, melting instantly as it hit my mouth that cleansed my palate without overwhelming it. What an amazing experience and a welcomed restaurant perfect for a date night or a casual get-together with friends. Aperitif is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Saturday.

My next adventure brought me to the unique and tasty Odelia. Located at 3529 US-190 in Mandeville, Odelia is an eclectic restaurant that will transport you to a cozy Parisian corner café or brasserie as soon as you step inside. I actually felt like Owen Wilson’s character in “Midnight in Paris” when I ate here for dinner. European and Parisian vibes are definitely front and center at Odelia. Upon entering, I was immediately drawn to the French artwork on the walls and the thickly upholstered large velvet chairs at each table. Initially when Odelia opened, lunch was only offered but dinner is also offered now. The menu pays homage to French and other European dishes. Appetizers include an amazing beet salad with whipped goat cheese, pistachios, and dill and truffled Parmesan fries. I started my meal with the beet salad and the best honey roasted carrots this side of the Atlantic. The carrots were served with whipped feta and a chimichurri sauce. The entrée menu includes chimichurri chicken prepared in a classical French style featuring herb marinated chicken and whipped feta served with Odelia’s delicious honey roasted carrots. Another fantastic option is the slow roasted short rib served with mashed sweet potato topped with crispy onions. This is a truly classic French bistro dish that will teleport your taste buds instantly to the French countryside. For my entrée, I went with the lightly grilled salmon filet prepared with roasted carrots and beets with lemon caper dill sauce cucumber

and pistachios. The flavor profiles in this dish were amazing and had such depth. The lunch menu is full of salad and sandwich options along with incredible appetizers. I wouldconsider ordering two appetizers such as the white bean purée dip and the incredible deviled eggs. However, do not sleep on the truffle Parmesan fries or the French onion dip. The sandwiches featured at lunch provide a wide-range of options sure to satisfy any one. The smoked salmon lox sandwich is a diner favorite along with the Capri sandwich that features pesto, whipped goat cheese, tomato, basil, arugula with fig balsamic vinegar on a perfectly-toasted French baguette. Flavor bomb incoming. Looking for a great Sunday brunch? Odelia offers classic French and European classics with its own twist during brunch service such as its famous quiche, salmon avocado toast and French toast.

In addition to its memorable food menu, Odelia boasts an impressive and extensive wine and cocktail list painstakingly created by co-founder and noted sommelier, Blake De Brock. The specialty coffee is also not to be missed and should be indulged for the full European experience during your next visit.

My visit was such a delightful experience. I wanted to try everything on the menu, but, alas, I needed more people to help me. Next time, I will bring a larger crew so we can dive into the menu and, more importantly, into the full European experience offered by this wonderful gem of a restaurant. Odelia is open for lunch Monday through Saturday and offers dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Brunch is offered on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
