After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell Law School, Howard Treatman founded the nationally focused real estate investment firm, Harvest Equities. A lifelong Philadelphian, Howard has provided leadership to several prominent communal and civic organizations. His most treasured volunteer affiliation has been with the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, where he has offered invaluable leadership since 2010, serving as president of the Board of Directors and on the Executive Committee.
Israeli-born Ronit Treatman grew up in Ethiopia and Venezuela. After serving in the IDF, she studied international business administration in the U S before raising children She later became an acclaimed writer, editor and president of The Philadelphia Jewish Voice and authored Hands-On Jewish Holidays, published in English, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, Hebrew and Russian. Ronit also serves as Director of Reconectar, an organization that focuses on reconnecting descendants of former Spanish and Portuguese Jewish communities with the Jewish world.
Howard and Ronit’s greatest achievements are their three children, Devorah, David and Hannah, all Barrack graduates David is a successful producer, and Devorah and Hannah have both made aliyah, proudly served in the IDF and are pursuing their education in Israel.

Dear Friends,
Thank you for joining with us this evening as we honor Howard and Ronit Treatman and celebrate our school, our community, and our connection to one another. Howard and Ronit have been influential leaders in both the Barrack and broader community for many years and in a variety of roles; we are thrilled to have the opportunity to say thank you to them for the significant contributions they have made in service of the Jewish people.
The theme of this year ’s gala is דחא םע/Am Echad - One Nation, One People. We span generations and locations We converse in English, Hebrew, and multiple other languages We reside in Philadelphia, Tel Aviv, and across the globe. We are all part of something bigger than ourselves a worldwide Jewish community. Heightened by the events on and since October 7, 2023, the importance of our interconnectedness, and its possibilities, have become much clearer. The potential impact of our actions when we work together, support one another, and build together for a strong and shared Jewish future, is immense.
Howard and Ronit have understood and lived these ideas for decades Guided by proud Jewish identities and a commitment to using their talents to strengthen the Jewish community, they have been involved in leadership roles at Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, Germantown Jewish Center, Reconectar, the American Jewish Committee, and other organizations, and have passed on those values to their own children. They have also inspired the many volunteers and professionals they work alongside through their dedication of time, their remarkable work ethic, and their wisdom

Thank you, Howard and Ronit, for your ongoing dedication to Barrack Hebrew Academy and to the Jewish people worldwide Your leadership, generosity, and vision are an inspiration and a model of what service to something greater than ourselves can achieve

To JBHA students, alumni, parents, faculty, and friends, Howard and Ronit Treatman exemplify the principle that we must care for our fellow Jews. It is so much part of their selves that they don't have to think about it, they just do it.
Their longstanding support of our school has helped to assure the education of their own children and of every Jewish child
They work for the safety of our Jewish brothers and sisters here, in Israel, and in the world.
They join in Jewish community with their neighbors and with Jews worldwide.
They inspire us to educate, protect, and join with fellow Jews by their words, their generosity, and their diligence.
Thank you so much for joining us in honoring Ronit and Howard this evening.
B’Ahava (with love),

Our Amazing Barrack Community,
On behalf of the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy PTO, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our school this year. It is such a blessing to be involved with this wonderful community. We are constantly in awe of the students, faculty, staff and the community as a whole. The last year and a half has been a challenging time for Israel and the Jewish people as a whole, and knowing our community is here to support and strengthen us when it feels so hard, is such a precious gift.
Our children are so fortunate to grow and thrive in a healthy, happy, safe, and kind school environment. We are grateful that our children's academic rigor is infused with Jewish history, values, and a love of Israel which is more important now than ever With this solid foundation, our children gain experience and a priceless appreciation of Israeli and Jewish culture, not to mention the making of lifelong friends and connections.
A hearty Mazal Tov to Honorees Howard and Ronit Treatman!
We are grateful to have the opportunity to collaborate and bring our community together for some exciting programs this year. We thank parents, administration, teachers and staff for all of your support and dedication

Sincerely,
Jen Jacobs & Jackie Robins PTO Co-Presidents
