TRACY AND GEORGE GORDON are passionate supporters of Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, and the proud parents of four Barrack alumi, Rachel ’12, Sarah ’13, Jacob ’16, and Eli ’18. George is the Immediate Past President of the Board, has held various positions on the Executive Committee, and has been actively involved in leading a number of the school’s transformative strategic initiatives over the last few years, including the creation of the Robert M. Saligman Middle School at JBHA. Tracy served as Co-President of the Parent Teacher Organization for five years, and currently sits on the Governance and Nominating Committee, Enrollment Advancement Task Force, and the Barrack Builders

Committee.

Tracy has been a devoted lay leader in the Philadelphia Jewish community for the past 25 years. Currently, she is the Campaign Chair for Women’s Philanthropy at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, where she has also served as CoChair of the Jewish Life and Learning Commission, member of the Campaign Cabinet, and on the Board of Trustees. Tracy is a member of the Executive Board of Philly Friendship Circle, and has served on the Board of Directors for Perelman Jewish Day School and Temple Sinai. Tracy is a Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds a master’s degree in Jewish education.

George is a partner at Dechert LLP, where he has co-chaired the firm’s global Antitrust Practice Group and Life Sciences practice. Chambers USA, a referral guide to leading lawyers in the United States, has consistently recognized George as a leading antitrust lawyer, and writes that he “wins praise as one of the top antitrust defense lawyers” in the country. George was also named Philadelphia Antitrust Law “Lawyer of the Year”

by Best Lawyers in America, and has been recognized as a national “Litigation Star” and a “Life Science Star” by other leading legal publications. George is actively involved in Dechert’s pro-bono work and has handled a variety of pro-bono matters, including a successful challenge to a client’s death sentence in a capital case. He has also served on the Board of Directors of The Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia.

AVI JORISCH is a seasoned entrepreneur and Middle East expert.

He is a Senior Fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council and founder of IMS, a merchant processing company that services clients nationwide.

A thought leader in exploring global innovation trends, the Arab world, counterterrorism, and illicit finance, Mr. Jorisch previously served in the US Departments of Treasury and Defense.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Binghamton University and a master’s degree in Islamic history from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He also studied Arabic and Islamic philosophy at the American University in Cairo and alAzhar University, the preeminent institution of Sunni Islamic learning. An author of five books, Jorisch‘s articles have appeared in influential outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, Forbes, and Al-Arabiya.net. Jorisch’s most recent bestselling book, Thou Shalt Innovate: How Israeli Ingenuity Repairs the World, is being translated into more than 30 languages. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).
