Meet Adam Hooven, the first Community Resilience Coordinator, also known as a Civilian First Shirt, in PACAF. Originating from Harrisonburg Virginia, Adam has lived a very interesting and well-traveled life. Throughout his 21 years as an ActiveDuty service member, Adam enjoyed helping people handle issues they faced, while also helping them grow and develop personally and professionally. Once retired, he set out on a path to continue doing that. “I wanted to find a way to keep helping people the same way that I was and specifically within the military community. I discovered that on the civilian side, they needed just as much support as our uniformed partners.”
provide support to both the service members and the civilian workforce. It was while working there supporting the Mountain Home population that he learned of the NEW opportunity of becoming PACAF’s first Community Resilience Coordinator. “My goal is to provide that support in any capacity needed while also being an advocate to wing leadership in making the work lives of federal civilians better.”
With his goals in mind, Adam began his career first with the Military and Family Readiness Center at Mountain Home Air Force Base. Here he learned how to further his techniques and develop his knowledge of how to fully
Adam Hooven
Hometown: Harrisonburg, VA
Occupation: Community Resilence Coordinator (Civilian 1st Shirt) 773d Force Support Squadron
Off duty, Adam is all about living his life to the fullest with his family. He loves the great outdoors, sports, games, and anything that really gets his adrenaline going. One fun fact he shared was that he made it through an F-16 incentive flight without throwing up, but he sure did keep the oxygen regulator set to 100%. When on JBER, you will probably find him snowboarding, golfing, or spending time at one of the many lakes. He loves to live by the motto “life is too short to be anything but happy.”
