UNDERSTANDING VOTING
Broaden your child’s understanding of voting by practicing how to vote in secret.
Do this by having each family member decide by vote what meal will be prepared for lunch or dinner. Start by drawing or printing out two or three family favorite dishes. Next, create and use a secret ballot or have each family member privately place a small piece of paper by the picture of their favorite dish. Once complete follow up on how voting in secret is beneficial.

MORE GOOD NEWS
FROM THE JBER AERO CLUB/FLIGHT TRAINING CENTER
There is a hidden gem on JBER. It is called the Aero Club and Flight Training Center (FTC). Service personnel can use their VA bene ts to acquire FAA pilot certi cates.
Over the last year, FTC has own more ight hours than own in the last 6 years. Some of these hours were flown by club members wishing to rent club aircraft for personal use.
However, most of the ight hours were flown by student pilots punching their “Golden Ticket” to the airlines. The Boeing Report predicts a pilot shortage over the next 20 years.
And ying is the ultimate rush.
So, now is the time to begin preparing for your post enlistment career in the airlines or pursuing a commission and undergraduate pilot training (UPT).
“BOEING REPORT-PILOT AND TECHNICIAN OUTLOOK
2025-2044”
“Global air travel demand is outpacing economic growth as markets have remained resilient. E ective training and an adequate supply of personnel remain critical to maintain the health, safety and prosperity of the global aviation ecosystem.
Long-term demand for newly quali ed personnel remains strong, as 660,000 new pilots, 710,000 new maintenance technicians, and 1,000,000 new cabin crew members will be needed to y and maintain the global commercial aviation eet over the next 20 years.”

Alaska Facts!
The Alaska SeaLife Center generates and shares scientific knowledge to promote understanding and stewardship of Alaska's marine ecosystems. Members of both the local and scienti c communities identi ed a need and expressed their support for an expanded research and public education facility in Seward. The concept remained a dream for years with periodic efforts to lobby the University and the Alaska Legislature for funding. The Alaska SeaLife Center is the only facility in Alaska that combines a public aquarium with marine research, education, and wildlife response. While primarily dedicated to marine research and education, the nonprofit Center is the only permanent marine mammal rescue
Provided by Information
and rehabilitation facility in the state. The Alaska SeaLife Center lies at "Mile 0" of the scenic Seward Highway on the shores of Resurrection Bay. Visitors have close encounters with puffins, octopus, harbor seals, sea lions, and other Alaska marine life while learning about the work our researchers conduct both in the eld and in our laboratories. As our world, and more speci cally the North Paci c, faces dramatic changes caused by environmental factors and human components, the Alaska SeaLife Center will continue to be instrumental in understanding and developing ways to maintain marine ecosystems.
