FROM THE JBER AERO CLUB/FLIGHT TRAINING CENTER
The JBER Aero Club Redbird Simulator Flies!
The JBER Aero Club Flight Simulator is now operational. It simulates the Cessna 172 aircraft equipped with the Garmin 530 and 430 navigation nd it simulates the Piper Seminole equipped with the navigation
Its first training flight October 22, 2025. pictured below are
flight instructor Jennifer King and Student Air Force Warfighter Joseph Schellenger. Jennifer attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. She also has an additional club duty to advise prospective students and club members. As she shares her journey to become a professional pilot, I routinely hear her say, “I didn’t know women could be pilots.” Oh yes, they can!
This Redbird will facilitate the creation of better and safer pilots, all in shorter training times. It will enable existing FAA certified instrument pilots to maintain their instrument currency through instrument proficiency checks. With the Seminole simulation, it will provide an opportunity for centerline thrust pilots to use simulation to gain multi-engine experience. And the G-1000 cockpit will enable “Glass Cockpit” conversion training for those pilots with only “steam gauge” experience. The simulator will only be rented with a JBER flight instructor on board. The price points are $80 per hour for the simulator and $55 per hour for an instructor.
