A sport that’s sweeping the nation, FootGolf combines the elements of soccer and golf to create a fun-filled game for all ages. Using traditional golf rules and etiquette, a soccer ball replaces the golf ball and your feet are used instead of clubs. With no prior experience needed, a game of FootGolf can be enjoyed by the entire family. Soccer balls are available should you need them or you may bring your own ball and waive the $4 ball rental fee. The FootGolf courses are available for open play at any time weekdays and after 12 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Why buy it if you can rent it? The Air Base ORC has a building and a lot full of gear of all shapes, and sizes for your use. Just a small sample of water sports gear include: jon boats, Bass Tracker boats, kayaks, canoes, water skis, fishing gear and surfboards. Heading to the mountains or forest? We have campers, tents, cooking gear, several sizes of ice chests, back packs and inflatable sleep mattresses. We also have charcoal and propane grills, picnic canopies, deep fryers, coffee pots, folding chairs, tables and car top carriers. Kids ages 5-15 can bowl two free games a day from now until Sept. 4 as part of the “Kids Bowl Free” summer fun program. Adults must sign-up their youth at and fill in all fields to receive bowl-free coupons. The coupons will be emailed to the address on the registration form. During registration, each family will have the opportunity to purchase a “Family Pass.” Cost of the pass is $28.95, which allows four additional family members over the age of 15 to receive coupons for two free games of bowling per day during the program. Registration for JB Charleston’s Before and After School Program begins July 10. This activity is for youth entering kindergarten through age 12. This evening of family soccer fun is geared towards those who are interested in participating in this year’s soccer program. Activities include a variety of soccer skills training sessions and a Parents vs. Kids game just for the fun of it. This is a free event, open to players ages 3 and up, and their parents.
