ASSIGNMENT: LIGHTING AND VAC DESIGN FOR COMFORT SITE NEW DESIGN
SCALE: NTS DATE: 9TH MAY 2022 LECTURER: MS SHARON
1.1 SITE ANALYSIS Room layout. The selected site is one of the master rooms. The apartment consists of you main rooms. In this room people lived for just almost two years. Very minimalistic and simple. The room is not that spacious and has a built-in wardrobe, which is why the bed cannot be positioned in ways the client wanted.so there is no proper positioning of the bed. The room has a study table since it is built mostly for students. Moreover, it has very basic fixtures. Two bright down surface lights, one small light and ad air conditioner.when the blinds are open the lux of the room is 148. The room has a modest design and is used for sleeping and studying. There is plenty of storage in the built-in wardrobe. There is the window in the room faces Northeast and opens inside the apartment living space. The light to the room is very less since it opens to inside of the living room, but the light from the big windows on the higher ceiling gives enough natural inside the room. A A roller blind is installed for blocking out light.one disadvantage of this is that for natural light the whole room is exposed if the blinds are open.

1.2 Dissatisfactory issues. Even through the minimalistic appearance there are some problems that have arisen in this site. The lack of a fan is the main source of concern. Only an air conditioner is not suitable for someone who prefers a higher temperature. However, the Air conditioner still provides convenience and comfort. In addition to this there is no night light which means its pitch black at night inside the room. The room has a light level of 216 lux. It is excessively bright when relaxing on the bed because the light shines directly into the eyes. As a result, a strip light might be placed far away from the eyes while yet providing adequate illumination. The site's final difficulty is that the windows are located inside the living room, preventing natural light from entering.

MEASURING AND RECORDING SITE
SITE: The selected area is a typical living room with a dining are as showed in fig.1. The most used space of the whole house is living room and dining area. The living room has high a big balcony door with tempered glass and aluminium framing. There is no divider for dining and living room.

Conclusion In conclusion, I have observed that Wall 1 has the highest heat transfer in my site since it’s the only wall exposed to light and heat with huge balcony door and high ceiling.
2b PASSIVE/GREEN INSULATION PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Product details: Hydroponic wall mount panel.
I've decided to use dampened cloth to create a panel with plants. I don't have a heat issue because my living room isn't very exposed to the sun. But I still need something to keep the inside cool and block the light. This also matches the aesthetic of my home since its very minimalistic and can be put up anywhere in the living room. The process of making the product: Used products: -Steel wire
- coconut husk
-Recycled grill
-recycled sponge
-White Grass mat fabric -ABS tube
-plants
-Wire of medical oxygen mask
Reasons for used products: 1.White Grass mat fabric -Very lightweight with ability to hold water for a long time. In addition to that its white fabric which will reflect heat resulting in less heat passing through. 2.Steel grill - It can be used for a long time. 3.Wire of medical oxygen mask. -plastic is a great insulator of het so when the wire does not have to be changed so much. 4.Coconyt husk -Holds water for a fair amount of time therefore, usage of water is also reduced. Estimated Material cost: Some of the products I have used are recycled so its 0 cost. Product

IDEA DRAFT:
Steps of making:
Final Product:
How it works: It is supposed to be mounted on the window or wall. In my case on the window. A syringe is used to slowly inject water into the plants. The water will flow from the little hole on the tube directly on the plant keeping it damp and the whole cloth damp. Resulting in blocking heat and light.

Reflection. After my design value evaluation, I have noticed that the design value gave me an idea of how actually the design will be valued on the market. My material cost and the feedback cost does not have much of a difference. The most expensive part of my prototype is the grass mat, or the fabric used Since it's a synthetic material. Overall, I feel like the product can be used very efficiently since it's very eco-friendly and can be very much used in everyday life.
FINAL PROJECT DESIGN OF BUILDIING SCIENCE (IADIII INTEGRATED)
1(A) SITE SELECTION AND QUALITATIVE DESCRIPTION OF INCORPORATED BUILDING SERVICES
Perspectives:
Site introduction. The space decided for this project is REXKL. Which is a very old building, Which has overcome multiple fires. the design I have made is for pottery making for kids and for adults. This is an integration of I added three and building signs and services. I have incorporated fire safety measures since pottery making uses fire frequently. It also needs a lot of ventilation since the heat from the kilns will be trapped inside the space. Electricity is highly used in this space since the kills and other tools are used in this space for pottery making.

B. Qualitative and quantitative justification.
A) Aigostar - LED Ceiling light Square 12 Watt 6000K 750lm - Surface mounted ceiling lamp
https://www.into-led.com/en/led-ceiling-light-square-12-watt-6000k-750lm-surfa.html
Advantages: -Made with plastic so it’s Less Pron to fire creating a safer environment. -Its LED and it uses less energy there for less wastage of electricity. -Easy to maintain -cheaper option
Disadvantages: -You'll probably need to make a few holes in your ceiling throughout your ceiling to install a number of recessed lights. There may be more holes needed to run the wiring across your ceiling from light to light. -Not portable. When it’s fixed in a ceiling its fixed permanently. -moisture problems. Moisture can steep through the hole made and cause mold problems if it’s installed in a place like bathroom. Illumination= watt x total area Watt = 55 Area = 34212.5 55 x 34212.5 =1881687.5

-Quick and Simple Installation - Lightweight LED flat panel lights can be surface mounted or flush mounted without the need for a mounting kit if they have a high-quality internal driver. When fastening to suspended grid ceilings and troffer fixtures, it is simple and secure. High Quality - This LED ceiling light is made of premium aluminium and PC, is ultra-thin, and is energy efficient. Tube lights are very energy efficient. One of the best benefits of fluorescent lighting comes from its energy efficiency. Just like the other lights this is also very cheap so its cheap and cost saving. Its has a longer light life so it does not have to be changed frequently. There are some disadvantages to this too.it has mercury and its initial cost is high. Illumination= watt x total area Watt = 220 Area = 34212.5 220 x 34212.5 = 7526750
