Based on the outskirts of Liverpool City Centre, Round the Corner, is a rough and ready roof top bar, supporting grassroot music. From single launches to artist showcases, travelling across the world to play this venue, Round the Corner has it all. With some of the friendliest bar staff in Liverpool, and the steepest staircase known to man, this venue has a warm, but off-grid feel to it. The rooftop bar is the perfect place to socialise and watch new-upcoming musicians perform live. Round the Corner host a comedy open mic on Tuesdays and NEWSCLOWNS Live Music Band open Mic well-known Liverpool Legend Barry Sutton on Wednesdays.

2. Outpost:

This independent venue is the ideal place to watch local Liverpool musicians. From craft beers to 100% vegan and veggie New York style pizza, this venue has so much to offer. This gig venue space itself is shut away from the hustle and bussle of the main bar, which allows gig-goers to really embrace themselves in the live music. Located on Renshaw Street, this venue is the ideal place in Liverpool City Centre to meet up with friends and watch some chaotic Liverpool talent, and not to mention they are dog friendly. The inclusivity is off the scale which is what makes this venue so perfect!
3. Jimmys:
Opposite the landmark Bombed Out Church, at the top of Bold Street, Jimmy’s Liverpool is a venue full of eccentricity and the perfect venue space for local live music. The three-story iconic building acts as a bar, eatery whilst having a whole basement space designated for live music. The basement acts as a portal to get lost in chaotic fun and has held some of Liverpool’s well-known artists, as well as touring ones. The venue space itself is a decent size, perfect for those who aren’t keen on crowded, sweaty small venues that can seem rather suffocating. The staff are friendly and welcoming which accompanies a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

4. Kazimier Stockroom:
This live music venue is located within Kazimier garden on Seel Street. It is the perfect beer garden on summers night, with funky music and reasonably priced drinks. Kazimier Stockroom is a cozy indoor music venue that has hosted some brilliant Merseyside talent such as Birkenhead’s very own Salt the Snail. Although the venue is on the smaller side, this in fact adds to the atmosphere making you feel at one with performing musicians. The bright, electrifying ceiling lights add a dazzling effect to the venue itself and makes gig-goers feel as if they have entire a world of mind-blowing music madness. Hosting mainly local music artists, it is the perfect place to discover the talent that Merseyside has to offer.

5. Heebie Jeebies Basement:

Heebie Jeebies is a well-known bar to all Liverpudlians, but what you might not know is, Heebies basement is the perfect little live music venue that showcases some amazing local musicians. The venue hosts a range of music club nights such as ‘The Liverpool Indie Club’, as well as proudly hosting this year’s Liverpool Sound City Festival. The basement itself has an ‘olden day’ feel to it, with many of the walls being bare-bricked, giving you a rough and ready feel. The venue is a prime location, being on Seel Street, along with some of Liverpool’s busiest night life. Being a small venue makes the live music itself, feel so much louder and more vibrant, something other venues do not offer. It is definitely worth a visit to dicover more of what Liverpool’s local music scene has to offer.
