I am Jayant Negi, a 5th year architecture student. For me, architecture is the perception of the world, the ideation and the creation of better and livable spaces. It’s something that lets me explore beyond and add depths to my understanding. I constantly try to expand my horizons, curating and bringing the pieces of design to a palette, while seeking inspiration from the works that have brought a positive change in our surroundings. Here bringing forth my past works exploring design thinking and simple implementation through experiential architecture.

THE VISION TRIES TO RESPOND TO THE CONTEXTUAL HERITAGE OF THE CITY OF AMRITSAR BY CREATING AN ECOSYSTEM THAT WOULD SUPPORT AND PRESERVE THE LOCAL IDENTITY OF THE REGION. THE IDEA OF AN INTEGRATED TOWNSHIP HELPS IN REINFORCING THIS SYSTEM BY FORMING A CLOSED LOOP OF RESOURCES WHICH EVERYONE ENGAGES WITH, AND THUS HELPS IN FORMING A SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY.

THE PROJECT AIMS TO CREATE A LEARNING SPACE FOR THE CHILDREN OF AGE GROUP 3-5YRS THAT WOULD ALSO SERVE AS AN EXTENSION TO THE ALREADY EXISTING ‘RAK NURSERY SCHOOL’.
THE DESIGN OF THE KINDERGARTEN SHOULD EMPLOY WOOD AS THE MAJOR CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL BRINGING OUT ITS ESSENCE AND PROPERTIES.
“THE IDEA OF THE KINDERGARTEN REVOLVES AROUND CREATING SPONTANEOUS ACTVITIES WITHIN ITS BUILT ENVIRONMENT. THE ORGANISATION OF THE CLASSROOMS ALLOWS FOR BOTH THE AGE GROUPS TO PLAY AND ENGAGE IN A COMMON SPACE.
MOREOVER, THE USE OF TIMBER AS A STRUCTURAL ELEMENT CREATES A WARM LEARNING EXPERIENCE WITHHOLDING THE IDEA OF A SUSTAINABLE AND MODULAR DESIGN”.


REATE A WARM LEARNING EXPERIENCE BY USING THE WOODEN STRUCTURE TO SHAPE THE IDENTITY OF THE SCHOOL PREMISES AND ESTABLISH AN ARCHITECTURE THAT PROVIDES BARRIER-FREE LEARNING. THE WHOLE SITE IS DIVIDED INTO A NUMBER OF PATHWAYS ENCOURAGING MULTI-DIRECTIONAL INTERACTION AND PROVIDING A FLEXIBLE ENVIRONMENT THAT TRIGGERS SPONTANEOUS ACTIVITIES.
OPEN - PLAN CLASSROOM PROVIDES FREE CIRCULATION AND VISIBILITY.

THE PROJECT BRIEF AIMS TO CRAFT A LAYER OF FUNCTIONS CONSIDERING THE IMMENSE CULTURAL DIVERSITY OF DELHI AND INDIA THAT CAN BE SEEN IN ITS LIFESTYLE, DEMOGRAPHY, MUSIC, ARTS AND CRAFTS.
“THE VISION OF THE PROJECT THROUGH ITS STRONG EDGE CONDITIONS IS TO BRING UP THIS IMMERSIVE CULTURAL EXPERIENCE WHILE INTEGRATING ART, TECHNOLOGY AND PUBLIC INTERACTION. THE EXPO WILL THUS PROVIDE LOCAL AND GLOBAL ARTISTS FROM DIFFERENT DOMAINS TO SHARE AND INTERACT THROUGH A COMMON PLATFORM”.
