You may find this American coffee shop on almost every corner in Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles. It’s attention grabbing colors on their sign draws people to see what exciting doughnuts have been fried that morning.

The pink and orange color implies a sense of youthfulness, excitment, warmth, and happiness. They have taken full advantage of the warm feeling by including this in their shop. Their key by using orange and brown tones inside their shop and on walls gives a sense of comfort which we all feel when we take our fist sip of coffee in the morning.

There are vibrant colors, a sense of rich culture, and smell of fresh rain which one may experience on their first trip to Guatemala. Here, people are rooted in their Mayan ancestor’s culture and choose to live by their grandfathered tradtions.

One of the many way they express their culture is through the use of vivid and bright colors in their textiles and art. Each village has their own version of brightly colored top and bottom which is mostly worn by women. Their location in the warm tropical mountains is what inspired their use of color. Even their symbolic bird is a Quetzal which is beautifully brightly colored bird. Their currency is rightfully a reflection of the Quetzal so much so that their money is measured in quetzals.
