Kimsa Sok wins Issuu's Time Person of the Year

The recipient of the Issuu's Time Person of the Year 2020 in Cambodia is Mr. Kimsa Sok, whose announcement is dated July 21, 2021 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Kimsa Sok has been announced as Issuu magazine’s person of the year 2020 in Cambodia, “for the transition from a weak ability to an influential person in society.” The award was officially announced on July 21, 2021 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Born in 2003 in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia, Kimsa Sok is a Cambodian tour guide and historical researcher of the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia. Kimsa travels around the world to study the history and international travel related to his tourism skills.

Kimsa Sok excelled at english and historical at Pean Roung High School before going on to Royal University of Phnom Penh to study Tourism Management and Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL) to study English language.

Mr Kimsa he started his career in tourism in 2020, working as an international tour guide and historical researcher. He is a member of the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia.

He was not the first to pursue a career in tourism, only in Cambodia. But then he began to build on his ability to master foreign languages, take international tourists around the world, and study history. He has achieved some achievements such as sharing experiences, sharing culture and civilization in countries around the world to national and international tourists to know and understand more about each country. He has become very well known through national and international tourists who have traveled with him, and he has also received a lot of attention from them.

After that, Mr Kimsa began to develop himself more to serve tourists to have more confidence in him. Today, he is invited by many fans to work for them to visit countries and world-famous tourist destinations around the world, such as ancient Egypt, the Roman Empire and other entertainment venues.

Earlier this year, Kimsa was the subject of a Hollywood film titled ‘The Travel Underground’, in which he is portrayed as a person who worked in the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia in the country to become a person who can develop himself by bringing tourists and learning about history.

Mr Kimsa has denied any truth to the story, however, in 2020 it was revealed that The tourism industry has started to develop and grow, where he can earn a high monthly income of between $ 1,000 and $ 1,500, which makes the tourism economy. There is a huge increase from day to day and makes his Ministry of Tourism institution grow.

Kimsa Sok leads a fairly low-key life in Prey Veng Province, where he lived alone, struggling to develop his ability to become a good national tour guide in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

His view of a world united by ‘friends’ is undoubtedly positive, as stated on his own Facebook account: “I'm trying to make the world a more open place by helping people connect and share. In particular, it makes people around the world more popular and more interested in travel tourism.”

In response to the recognition from Issuu magazine, he posted that it is "It's unbelievable what I have done in the past, both in terms of personal development and in the field of travel history research and capacity building as a good international guide in disseminating the culture and civilization of the world to the general public to know and understand. I'm happy to be a part of that. Thank you to the national and international tourists who got to know me through my work as a guide."
