“PURPOSE IS THE REASON YOU JOURNEY. PASSION IS THE FIRE THAT LIGHTS THE WAY.” Dear Friends of JA, You have probably heard me speak about the importance of having purpose and passion, but what do those words really mean? From the organization’s perspective, JA’s purpose is clear and consistent: To inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Our passion the fire that lights our way - is more dynamic and multifaceted: We are passionate about what’s possible. We do this by unlocking what’s possible for students by helping them discover their own purpose and passion – revealing options and opportunities they may never have imagined. We reinforce the value of an education by connecting what they learn in school with life outside the classroom. We show students that it’s possible to invest in their future, to gain a better understanding of how the world works, and to pursue their dreams. We show them that, even if things are hard today, it’s possible for tomorrow to be a better day. The results of our efforts speak for themselves. JA Alumni report that JA played an important role in motivating them to learn (91%), exposed them to new ways of thinking (90%), and gave them confidence in new situations (85%). Ninety percent say JA influenced their belief that they could achieve their goals. Speaking of achieving goals, our new state-of-the-art facility opened to its first group of students in April 2023! The JA Free Enterprise Center serves as staff headquarters and is a vital place of learning, discovery, and inspiration that will enable JA to reach another 25,000 students annually. When I came to JA 31 years ago, we could only dream about having a facility like the JA Free Enterprise Center. The organization was deeply in debt and hadn’t finished the capital campaign for the building they had just moved into. But we never considered that we couldn’t change things – we were confident that we could build something of significance. The support of our passionate staff, donors, and volunteers emboldened us in the way we embolden students and led us to where we are today. We are honored to work with you to reveal the boundless futures of our young people. As you read more about our 2022/23 accomplishments, we hope you feel proud of the positive impact your support has made possible. Sincerely,
Robin Wise President & CEO Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain, Inc.

JA FREE ENTERPRISE CENTER The JA Free Enterprise Center officially opened to students in April 2023, and houses the Robert & Judi Newman JA Finance Park, presented by Transamerica. The building is also home to a second state-of-the-art learning lab, the Daniels Fund JA Dream Accelerator. Together, they fuse the physical and digital worlds to deliver innovative, real-world, and inspirational learning experiences in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness, allowing us to reach thousands more students annually. The Daniels Fund JA Dream Accelerator is an interactive and responsive career exploration experience that motivates high school students to develop a plan to pursue a meaningful career. This experience brings careers to life by sharing stories of emerging entrepreneurs and Colorado visionaries tailored to each student’s interests and aptitudes. After students’ initial visit, JA-Rocky Mountain provides ongoing learning opportunities and additional resources customized to each student’s experience, guiding them through a process to identify, research, refine, and pursue their goals. The second JA Finance Park, presented by Transamerica, in Metro Denver doubles JA-Rocky Mountain’s capacity to provide teens the opportunity to become adults for the day in this immersive simulation. Recognized by Harvard University as a best practice for teaching financial literacy, students explore a mini-city, learning firsthand how to budget for housing, insurance, transportation, retirement investments, and more. Volunteer role models share their experiences, helping teens connect their learning to the real world. When not in use by JA-Rocky Mountain, spaces within the JA Free Enterprise Center are available for community use, including conference rooms, a large terrace overlooking the Rocky Mountains, and event space.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis took a hardhat tour of the JA Free Enterprise Center as it was in the middle of its construction. After the tour, Governor Polis said, “I look forward to seeing all the exciting progress and growth from the Free Enterprise Center.” An extraordinary amount of progress was made over the course of the year.
DECEMBER JA-Rocky Mountain raised $75,323 during Colorado Gives Day, which gave over 1,300 students the opportunity to participate in JA programming at no cost over the course of the 2022/23 school year.
