Fixed The fixed and the enduring are set against the passage of time. I cast an image to fix it in a dialogue with material. This way of working came from the desire to respond with immediacy to the cacophony of Rome and its layers of building and breaking: the fluid or transitional and the fixed. I started alluding to the anthropocene with aerial photographs and lino some years ago to suggest connections between ornamentation and our landscape. This theme continues in recent 2D works such as City Reach Amphora ll 2015 while the relief works, cast in modified gypsum, reflect on the physical and the notion that we produce artifacts like shards of a shattered whole.
