Night Kitchen Too is coming to Corbyville By Gary Magwood
For six years, Night Kitchen Too (NKT), Belleville’s Acoustic Musical Variety Show, has brought together a diverse group of performers who present their music, poetry or spoken word on the stage of the Pinnacle Playhouse in the downtown core.
Each evening’s format consists of 12 to 14 invited performers who are allotted 5 minutes on stage to entertain the always friendly and appreciative audience. A feature entertainer gets 15 minutes on stage. Every performer gets a stipend depending on the number of audience attendees, usually enough to cover travel expenses and maybe a coffee or two. On most evenings, an open jam will follow the show.
The season’s fun-filled finale on June 22 will be at Henry’s Place in Corbyville adjacent to The Signal Brewery. This is the first time NKT will have travelled outside of the downtown core.
The price of admission is still $10 and tickets are available at Artists and Artisans Gallery on Bridge St. or at the theatre when the doors open at 7:30pm. Shows get underway at 8pm.
