Western Horizons 2026 Museum Exhibition
Chief Curator Dr. Andrew Patrick Nelson will select a group of paintings and sculptures from Western Horizons to be shown for a limited time at Western Spirit Museum. Together, these works reflect the strength and range of Western art and highlight the relationship between the artist’s studio, the gallery, and the museum, connecting the work to the community through exhibition.
Western Spirit Museum
Western Spirit Museum is a world-class cultural destination in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, where art, history, and storytelling ignite the spirit of the North American West. As a proud Smithsonian Affiliate, it’s more than a museum — it’s an experience that brings the West to life through immersive exhibits, world-class collections, and thought-provoking programs.
With the completion of a 12,000-square-foot expansion opening to the public on March 28, 2026, four new gallery spaces and exhibitions are introduced, including The Eddie Basha Collection, recognized as one of the most significant collections of Western American art and American Indian art assembled.

Western Horizons is more than an exhibition—it is a shared commitment to preserving, interpreting, and advancing the art and stories of the American West.
Through the generosity of our artists, collectors, and community, this annual benefit directly supports the Western Spirit Museum’s mission to inspire understanding and appreciation of Western heritage through art.
Rules of Sale
Your draw entries are a commitment to purchase; therefore, you are obligated to purchase all artworks for which you have been drawn. All unsold works will be immediately available for purchase.
As required by law, all applicable sales tax will be applied to all purchases. Purchasers will be invoiced on Monday, March 2.
Fixed Price Sale
The show will open on Saturday, February 28 at 5:00 pm at Legacy Gallery. Each attendee who has purchased a ticket will receive a ballot book containing one ballot (intent to purchase slip) for each piece of art that is in the show. The ballots in each book will contain an assigned number which is registered to the purchaser of that book.
The artwork in the show is available for sale at a fixed price, unless designated for live auction. The price is indicated on the information card that is displayed by each piece of art, online, and provided price sheet.
For each piece of artwork that you wish to purchase, simply write your name on the ballot matching the number on the artwork and on the box, then insert the slip into that box.
Purchasers will have until 5:30 pm to drop their signed ballots into the corresponding boxes. At 5:45 pm, ballots will be drawn and names of purchasers will be posted by each piece of artwork.
Live Auction • No Buyer’s Premium
Legacy Galleries may withdraw property at any time before the sale, and all items are sold AS IS with no warranties or guarantees; all sales are final. The auctioneer has sole discretion to accept or reject bids, resolve disputes, enforce reserves, and determine the purchaser at the fall of the hammer. Invoices will be issued on March 2, and purchasers are responsible for full payment by the stated deadline and all applicable taxes; bidding constitutes acceptance of these terms, which are governed by Arizona law.
Proxy Service
Western Horizons offers proxy/absentee or telephone bidding services to anyone who wishes to have the opportunity to purchase artwork but cannot attend the sale on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Please fill out a Proxy/Absentee form and email it to Miranda Hagler, miranda@legacygallery.com. For assistance, call Legacy Gallery at 480-945-1113.
