The Danger Zone 38" x 42" Oil Hunting buffalo from horseback was a dangerous business and required a skilled rider, as well as, a horse specially trained for this task. The buffalo horse needed to be able to get in very close to the speeding target and then swiftly move away after the shot was taken. Many things could go wrong and many hunters and horses were injured or even killed.

Abandoned Wickiup 42" x 36" Oil During the apache wars between 1849 and 1886, the army employed in it’s service, scouts from various Apache bands. Their job was to locate and hunt down other Apaches who refused to live on the assigned reservations.

Without these scouts the army could never find the enemy. In this painting the scouts are hot on the trail and have discovered a hastily abandoned wickiup shelter, a sign that the hostiles must be close.
