Join Us for a Special Weekend with Master Wildlife Sculptor

A lifelong artist, Paul began drawing and painting in childhood and later went on to work at the Smithsonian Institution, where he spent over two decades specializing in taxidermy and model making before retiring in 2010 to focus on sculpture full time.

For the past 25 years, Paul has devoted himself to sculpting animals—not only capturing their physical presence, but expressing deeper emotions and commentary on the world around him. His work is a profound blend of anatomical precision, emotional resonance, and storytelling.

In 2023, Paul was named Birds in Art Master Wildlife Artist, and he is a Fellow of the National Sculpture Society and a Distinguished Signature Member of the Society of Animal Artists. His public installations are found in major institutions and cities across the country, including the Briscoe Western Art Museum, Smithsonian’s National Zoo, Denver Zoo, and the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum.

Paul’s inspiration flows as much from the field as it does from the studio. An avid outdoorsman—fisher, hunter, and birder—he studies animals in their natural environments, absorbing the movement, behavior, and essence of his subjects. This firsthand experience informs every sculpture he creates, resulting in work that is both technically brilliant and emotionally compelling.

Join us for an opportunity to meet Paul in person, explore his latest sculptures, and hear firsthand the stories and experiences behind his extraordinary body of work.
