ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER I’m Jane Earle and I’ve been a Photographer for most of my life and I’ve loved animals since childhood. I grew up with Guinea Pigs, Budgies, Cats, Dogs, Mice, Rats (secretly rescued from my school laboratory) and Horses. I bought my first film camera at 15 and the first pet I photographed was my neighbour’s beautiful cat. I still have the negative of that image. My heart skips a beat when I look at it because photographs never forget.

I photograph pets because they are our babies.

We need to have gorgeous images of them so we can connect with them for the rest of our days. That way, we will never, ever forget their precious light.

My husband, step-daughter and I are full-time slaves to our rescue cat, Gizzy. He’s our precious light - and he makes sure we never, ever forget it.

I am a Professional Photographer fully accredited by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP).

WHAT TO EXPECT Photoshoots with us are fun and we have endless patience with your pets. Your pet is our VIP. Our natural light studio is pet friendly and they cannot escape from it - this is vital if you are bringing your cat or nervous pets to be photographed. We insist your pet is fully vaccinated as our studio (regularly cleaned) has dogs, cats and all creatures great and small passing through on a regular basis, including humans.

We prefer to start an outdoor shoot about 1 hour prior to sunset to capture that beautiful warm, soft light. Studio sessions can be done between approximately 9am and 2pm.

We suggest you start by choosing the photoshoot type and then the products you would like and the locations in which you wish to display them. There are many other options if you cannot find what you want here.

Decide if you would like an outdoor or indoor shoot or both. They produce very different looks.

We are only a minute’s drive to Ocean Reef beach or 3 minutes walk to Mirror Park and 8 mins drive to Sir James McCusker Park.

After the photoshoot, we’ll edit up to 30 beautiful images of your pet for you to view at our Studio with all the decision makers present. If you cannot attend in person then a viewing via Skype is the alternative. You can then select your favourites and choose the products you would like to purchase.

The reveal of your images is usually within 7 days of the photoshoot and we request that all decision makers be present for the viewing.

A 50% is taken at the time of your product ordering. Products are released once full payment is received.

The end products take 1-5 weeks from the date of ordering, depending on what you order.

We can provide digital files only, individual prints, canvasses, acrylics or big, beautiful collections. Even images to licensed music to watch on your TV or computer.

AT OUR STUDIO

Most of our clients come to our Studio to have their pets photographed. This is suitable for nervous or distracted pets as it’s completely safe and pet friendly, with no distractions. Your pet cannot escape.

It’s also great for cats, rabbits, guinea pigs etc who do not mind a change of location. Studio portraits are more classic and Vogue in their style, very much the stunning portrait that you don’t get so much with an outdoor photograph. Studio images can be quite different and beautiful to anything you capture in an outdoor environment. We also highly recommend that your pet is vaccinated for their protection if leaving their home environment.

AT YOUR HOUSE AND GARDEN

This can be the best option if your pet is ill or extremely anxious as there’s no place like home. Please consider the following: is your home spacious with good natural light? is it attractive enough as a backdrop? do you have an interesting or beautiful outdoor space or a nice park close to home that your dog is comfortable with as a second option? We can discuss all of this prior to the photoshoot.

AT YOUR APARTMENT

Again, a possible option for your ill or very nervous pet. Some things to consider are: is there a quiet outdoor space at your complex for outdoor shots or a nice park nearby where your dog is comfortable?

Is there shade? Is there good natural light in your apartment, areas of interest ie texture, plants etc. If your home is dark or with no areas of interest then it may not be suitable for indoor shots. Another thing to consider is if there will be dogs or other people in the outdoor area.

PUBLIC PARKS

Public parks can be great places to photograph your dog but there are a few things to consider: If your dog is easily distracted then it may not be a suitable location (ie running off to greet other dogs and people). Mid week, 1 hour prior to sunset is an ideal time as there are less people and dogs about and the light is at it’s most beautiful.

Your dog will need to be off the lead so you must be confident that they will not run away. Not suitable for nervous or aggressive dogs or for owners who feel their dog is hard to control or easily distracted in an outside area. This is when our Studio is the best and safest option.

BEACHES AND OTHER PUBLIC SPACES

Dog friendly beaches are an option if your dog enjoys them, is safe off the lead and you are comfortable with them in the water but we don’t want them in the water for the whole shoot. If your dog regularly visits a beach then consider this as an option. Consider also if the tide should be out at the location ie are there interesting rocks or spaces covered at high tide? Is your dog is easily distracted by other dogs or people and is it a crowded location 1 hour prior to sunset?

If you live in the inner city or by the beach then there are lots of interesting outdoor spaces in those locations. Is your dog well trained and socialised? Be prepared for interruptions from people wanting to pat your dog, does your dog like to just lie or sit quietly for a minute - if they don’t then public spaces may not be suitable. There will also be some walking around with your dog so you must both be mobile.

Not suitable for timid dogs.

CLASSIC PHOTOSHOOT - $175 This 1-2 hour Portrait Shoot is tailor made for those in need of a well rounded gallery of images that perfectly expresses their pet’s unique personality. If you are looking for a fine art print wall collection or just one or two prints then this session is the ideal choice. These shoots take place at our studio or within approximately 7km of Ocean Reef 6027 and include up to 2 pets and 2 people from the same family. Photoshoot fee does not include any digital files, prints or products and is separate to all collection prices but it can be redeemed with the purchase of artwork over $500.

YEARBOOK PHOTOSHOOT- $440 The ultimate option for those who want it all. These 1-2 hour sessions take place 3 times over the course of 12 months and can be in different locations ie our Studio, your home, the beach or a park depending on your pet’s personality. It’s particularly suitable for documenting the growth of a young puppy through to adulthood or telling the story of your pet through the seasons of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The result is a fabulous gallery rich in variety and character of images for you choose an album or beautiful attention grabbing wall art.

This photoshoot gives you a 15% discount on any products you purchase and interest free payment plans are available on all product orders. Photoshoot fee does not include any digital files, prints or products and is separate to all collection prices.

COMMEMORATIVE PHOTOSHOOT - $50 A special offer for terminally ill pets. Having lost an elderly pet recently, I fully appreciate the shock, heartache and not to mention the financial committment that comes when your pet has a terminal diagnosis.

This photoshoot comes with all the perks of the Classic Photoshoot and every effort is made to accommodate urgent requests. Your pet can be photographed in their own home if required within approximately 7km of Ocean Reef 6027.

Photoshoot fee does not include any digital files, prints or products and is separate to all collection prices but can be redeemed with any artwork you purchase.
