The Quill & Club was not played in 2025 due to an exceptionally congested calendar However, it was agreed that the event should return this year and be moved from its traditional place later in the season to become the opening event in the AGA golfing calendar It is anticipated that the tournament will now establish itself as the official curtain raiser to the AGA season for years to come
This year’s venue, Hampton Court Palace Golf Club, was a first for an AGA main event. The South East Region has made use of the facilities on a number of occasions previously, and it is easy to understand the attraction of such a unique setting
A field of 31 players teed off beneath cloudless blue skies, surrounded by herds of deer roaming freely across the course and in the shadow of Hampton Court Palace The walk from the clubhouse to the first tee, lined by beautiful mature oak trees, offered players a somewhat deceptive sense of calm before the challenge ahead Once emerging from the shelter of the trees, it

quickly became apparent that a lively and ever-changing wind would test club selection and course management throughout the round
Whilst the course itself proved challenging in places and the conditions were not always as forgiving as some players might have hoped, the overall atmosphere and spectacular surroundings more than

compensated. The sight of the deer moving across the fairways and the historic setting created a memorable experience for all who attended and ensured that the day retained a unique character throughout.
Following the golf, players and guests returned to the clubhouse for refreshments and the prize presentation. We extend our sincere thanks to Hampton Court Palace Golf Club and the catering staff for hosting the event and for their hospitality during the day.
We were also extremely fortunate to be joined by a few of our valued sponsors: Richard Muir from Leonardo, Nick Miller

from Thales, Sam Keen from NatWest Bank and Gregg Mulligan from Heckler & Koch The continued support of these individuals and organisations is hugely appreciated Without their generosity and commitment, events such as this would not be possible at the venues we are privileged to enjoy Our sincere thanks go to every one of them.
Despite the testing conditions, a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all, and the competition produced some excellent scoring.
Congratulations to all the prize winners, and thanks once again to everyone who attended and supported the event
