is heifer is the real deal. She checks all the boxes; high class phenotype, proven yet exciting pedigree, and balanced EPD pro le. ese Frado females always seem to nd their way to the top of their contemporary groups. Just a couple years ago “Frado’s” swept the Red Angus Female Show at Agribition for Harviecrest (Frado 344J) and for Smith/Bragg/Gabel (Frado 90K).
Frado 78N represents the rookie calf crop from one of our newest sires, Berwald Con dence 3089. He puts a big foot, added rib and dark red color in all his calves.
Lot 1’s dam, Frado 401J is blazing an impressive production trail for a 4-year-old cow. Her rst son was a member of our Reserve Pen of Bulls in Denver and then selected by Walsh Farms for $27,000. Her second was a feature in our 50th Annual Bull Sale purchased by Wilbar Cattle for $65,000. Bid to own on this elite red angus female.

We have always believed that our rst calf heifers should produce at the same level as our main cow herd. Wind Chime 164L exceeded those expectations.
Lot 2 is a dark red beauty. She also is from a rookie calf crop. “571K” was purchased by V8U Ranch in southern Alberta. He saw extensive use in our AI program again this year. His dark red calves come easy and grow quickly with added length and muscle.

Another rst-calf heifer that proved her worth in production. is is not surprising coming from the high-octane “Cheta” cow family. Lot 3 is a pen favourite. She has a commanding presence and oats around the pen with an athletic and uid stride. Her sire was a member of our Denver pen of bulls and was then selected by Triple S and Circle 7 in our 2024 bull sale.
Big time heifer with a big time future!

Head Rush was one of the feature lots in the Rainbow dispersal sale. A er a hotly contested bidding battle with Moose Creek, we nally gave up at $53,000. However, we were lucky enough that Darren let us in as partners on the bull a erwards. Another rookie calf crop, Head Rush calves come little and grow fast.
Lot 4 is a January prospect that is super complete and tough to nd a hole in.

I like this kind of female. She is big-bodied, really sound at the ground and has a really cool pedigree to boot. She stems back to the Lass 49F donor cow who produced an arsenal of herd bulls selling to Semex, BoviGen, Fischer’s, Horsecreek(2), Running JR, Rosser’s, Nelson’s, Sentes’ and Hillcrest, as well as one of our high-selling heifer calves last fall to Corbin Reid and 4 daughters retained in the Six Mile herd .
Lot 5 is another high-level Con dence daughter that was on our radar this past summer, for all the right reasons.

A high-caliber March born show prospect for those that want to hit a di erent age division than the slough of “Jan 1” babies that ood snapchat shortly a er midnight on NYE. is ET calf has an awesome body shape and loads of potential. She’s a “Meg“, so that should help market her embryos down the road when she hits the donor pen.

Marta 928E has become the Queen Bee of the donor arsenal here at Six Mile. She transmits size, scale, genuine muscle and maternal power into her o spring. As I get a little older, I tend to like to hoard cow families at the ranch; the Marta’s being one of them. Callie had to remind me on sort day that we have 5 maternal sisters in the replacement pen, so “it’s okay to sell one”…
Augusta 519K was selected by our good friends at Sandridge Land and Cattle in 2024. His calves are punchy with added body and shape. Lot 8 is awesome haired, long and level and royally bred. You simply cannot go wrong with a Marta. Maternal sister sells as Lot 22.

Lot 9 is a maternal sister to Frado 90K, the Reserve Female at Agribition 2024 for Eric Smith, Glen Gabel, and the Bragg family of Red Diamond Land and Cattle of Texas. at heifer sticks in my head as one of the most powerful and unique Red Angus females that I have been around.
Frado 115N is again from a rookie calf crop (dang, we bought a lot of bulls in 2024!), this time from “Blindside”, the lead-o bull from the great Towaw operation. is heifer’s neck to body ratio is bananas (B-A-N-A-N-A-S!) “insert Gwen Stefani voice”.

If you are an avid reader of my footnotes, you will recall the “3 Certainties of Life”: Trudeau/ Carney’s stupid taxes, the Oilers nor the Leaf’s raising the Stanley Cup, and a Lassie female being featured in Genetic Focus. is heifer may be the best Lassie female we have sold since the matriarch 377P, lead o Red Round Up back in 2007. Nose to tail, Lassie 224N encompasses true Angus characteristics with a beautiful Angus skull and a robust wedge shape to her skeleton.

is is Alana female is really, really good; nice necked, huge ribbed, stout pinned, the darkest shade of red, and backed by a CAA Elite dam who does not miss. Ever. Maternal siblings to Lot 11 have fetched top dollar and been sale features over the past ve years. Most recently, Bloom’s of B-Elle Red Angus purchased a pen favourite named Red Six Mile Havasu 138M (Mojave x Alana 301G) in our 50th Annual Bull Sale.

Sister - Lark 35K

Lot 12 and 13, a pair of ush sisters from the proli c producer Lark 225E, the dam of Mossy Oak and a long list of high sellers that followed him. She is a ectionately known as “Fat Lark” by my kids when they spot her on pasture checks. She’s an easy keeper (hence her name) and as fertile as a barn cat.
ese long-spined, tanky, dark red sisters are sired by Long Haul 1344. His sons caused quite a stir at our bull sale last spring, with the majority of them going to purebred breeders. Not an easy feat in today’s industry.

is year would be the rst Rage calves born for us at Six Mile. If his semen wasn’t so dang expensive, we probably would use more of him. We really like the muscle shape that he puts in his calves and genuine skeletal width. Lot 14 is stout and broody with added power from nose to tail. Her mother is one of our favourite Cactus Coulee cows with o spring selling to Towaw and Lanoie’s. And a maternal sister to Lot 14 was the “Pick of the Pen” of heifers in Denver a couple years ago to the Farrer family in Indiana.

Sister – Ms Star 426L

A long, stretchy Head Rush daughter here from a powerful rst calf heifer, Redeem 93L. She goes back to a powerful producer that we purchased from Rohrich Cutting Edge Ranch in North Dakota, 7036E. Lot 15 should follow in the footsteps of her mother and granddam producing high quality stock and adding pounds in the process.

Here’s the sweetheart of the heifer calf o ering- and the only El Rey daughter in Canada! For those that may need a reminder, Red Diamond El Rey was crowned SUPREME BULL at OKC in 2023 for the Bragg and Pembrook families. is is no easy feat.
My daughter Sloane (7) is quick to tell everyone that this is her FAVOURITE female in the o ering. It’s not because of her look, pedigree, cow family, or EPDS (which are all BIG TIME), it’s because Lot 19 is an absolute puppy dog in the pen.

A maternal sister to Lot 19 across the page, this Ta eta female is poised to have an impactful future on her new herd. e dam of these maternal sisters, Ta eta 70K, was the Bragg families “Pick of the Heifer Calves” in 2022. She matured into a stunning young cow with a perfect udder and is producing at a high level, like the Ta eta’s are known for.
Now if you are anything like me you are probably a skeptic and wondering “Okay Tyson, if you like this 70K cow so much, why isn’t there an awesome donor-style picture of her in the catalog? Talk is cheap right?” And to that, I have no good response, so for now a cell phone summer pasture picture with her standing in a hole with have to su ce for a support photo…

Just go ahead and put a circle, a star and a few big check marks on this one. I believe the youth these days would call Lot 21 a “BADDIE”. We are very proud of the consistency in this set of red bred heifers. Sorting a group to sell becomes more and more challenging every year. is heifer boasts an impressive birth to yearling spread and o ers pedigree diversity to not just to this o ering but to the Red Angus mainstream. She’s a high-quality heifer that should bring a quick R.O.I. for her new owner.

ere is nothing more annoying to me than when a footnote says “this one is a little green…”; just be honest and tell me that she is as hard doing as a Holstein. Second to that is the footnote that says “this one is better than her picture”. Drives me nuts… but please believe me when I tell you, Lot 39 is de nitely better in person. As one of the younger females in the o ering, she excels over her contemporaries with more frame, more body, more mass and more e ciency. She’s the kind that gets fat on water.

I’m not much of an EPD jockey- I like to look at them as a tool but it seems like over kill to plan your whole breeding program around them. One thing I have noticed is that all these Lincoln daughters rank really high for the new “functional longevity” EPD that was introduced last summer. From the limited research I had time for, higher means the cow will last in the herd longer and wean o more calves (probably should be called “the money maker” EPD!). is is one EPD I will get behind. Blair.Ag selected full sister to Lot 43 in last fall’s female sale and Heather Martin purchased a maternal sister to her the year prior.

You are probably wondering by now, “Who is this Stome 278K bull? And why are all his daughters so dang good!?”. Well, he is a maternal masterpiece, Stark x Eliminator pedigree combination making him a black hided ¾ brother to Six Mile Cold Open 82K. Strome was a pasture favourite from a young age, but tweaked something in his neck shortly before bull sale picture day. So, he hung around and then came out of it before breeding season so we turned him out. His dam is a CAA Elite Dam and also produced a powerhouse bull named Six Mile P.O.E. 234G that Dvorak and Leeuwenburg had a lot of success with. Strome makes them big bodied, easy doing and high quality just like Lot 44.

is heifer is a cool cucumber. Big haired, stout structured, with the neck-to-body ratio necessary to hang a few banners. Her dam is an ET daughter from the great EXAR Blackbird 1916Y donor. She cut a silhouette as pretty as any Angus cow that I have laid eyes on.
When Vegas won Reserve Angus Bull in Denver, he honestly looked like a man among children. He was bigger footed, longer spined, deeper bodied than the rest and actually had some crest and masculinity. e coolest part, was that was the FIRST and ONLY time Vegas had ever been shown!

ese Vegas heifer calves are all pretty sporty, but they also have the pedigree and generations of cow families behind them that work in the real world too. e Six Mile “show heifers” better come from cows with awesome feet, solid udders, genuine muscle mass with proven track records. Lot 71 comes from a 4th generation Six Mile cow that also sired one of our feature black bulls in last spring’s bull sale to Chance and Emily Jackson. Lot 71 is stout backed, great haired and super balanced.

We were, and still are, WAY in on HF ProStar as we watch his rookie calf crop develop; they are dang good cattle. We like them so much; we have a Pen of 3 Angus Bulls that we think is pretty awesome to showcase down in Denver this winter. Lot 72’s dam, Blackbird 697G, is a CAA Designated Elite Dam that produces quality stock regardless of mating.
