Regular Inspection of Dry Hire Earthmoving Equipment While Returning Back In terms of going for an earthmoving equipment hire deal, you’ll come across two different methods of renting them. One of them is dry hire while the next one is given the name of wet hire. Both are totally different from each other and in several circumstances, dry hire concept works best because it saves a good amount of money, but only if the machines availed under dry hire contract are returned back. Document Pouch With every earthmoving equipment hired by you or backhoe hired by you, there comes a pouch of documents related to the machine. It is usually kept safely inside the cabin, safe from water, dirt, dust, grime, etc. and at the time of receiving and leaving the machine, you need to make sure that it is intact there. This pouch has some very important documents such as registration papers, insurance, service history, risk assessments and a pre-start checklist.

These documents are extremely important for the legal functioning of the machine and therefore, they have to be kept safe and preserved at all costs.

Fire Extinguishers Each backhoe hired by you or earthmoving equipment hired by you comes with a fire extinguisher that is a mandatory addition as per safety regulations. In some machines, it would be bigger while in some, it would be

smaller, but yes, there would be one, safely installed inside the cabin for safety of the operator in case of fire.

In a majority of cases, this is powder-based fire extinguisher that can tackle most kinds of fires and upon receiving as well as handling the machines back, make sure that it is present.

LED Beacons Led beacons are installed at several placed around the cabin area as a warning flashlight while the machine is in operation. These beacons are an important safety feature that you need to make sure are working while receiving the machine or while handling it back after project’s completion. If they aren’t, make a note to inform the supplier, as they are potentially noncompliant without them.

A First Aid Kit A primary first aid kit too comes with every earthmoving equipment hired by you that is safely placed inside the cabin along with the documents.

While receiving the machine, don’t forget to check the content of the first-aid box and while returning the machine back, same protocol has to be followed. If during the project, you had used the first-aid box, it would be your responsibility to return it back as it was at the time of receiving the machine. Basic contents should include plasters, bandages, scissors, tweezers, thermometer, antiseptic, eye wash and painkillers plus a basic first aid manual.
