'Tis the SEASON

HOLIDAYS Happy
From The Jamestown Sun and area merchants

The Jamestown Sun and participating merchants are celebrating Christmas by bringing our readers the wonder of the season through children.
This year, The Jamestown Sun asked second grade children in the area to answer one of the following questions:
“Santa likes to have milk and cookies when he delivers gifts for Christmas. What kind of cookie would you make for Santa and how would you make it?”
“You’ve been asked to make the turkey for Christmas dinner. How big of a turkey will you make and how will you cook it?”
Children from Louis L’Amour Elementary School, Washington Elementary School, Roosevelt Elementary School and St. John’s Academy in Jamestown along with students from Barnes County North, Wimbledon, and Pingree-Buchanan Elementary in Buchanan, answered one of the questions. Teachers were asked to leave the answers as written to preserve the charm and originality of their writing.
Second grade students from Lincoln Elementary, Gussner Elementary and Victory Christian School in Jamestown and Medina Public School, Medina, were asked to either draw a picture of a Christmas ornament or a Christmas tree with decorations.
The Jamestown Sun thanks the teachers, principals, superintendents and students from all of the schools for making this project possible. We also thank the merchants for their participation.
We hope the children’s answers and the drawings make your holidays brighter.
The management and staff of The Jamestown Sun wish you a merry Christmas and happy New Year.
