Bursting with quality entertainment including Deadpool & Wolverine, Rivals and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Disney+ is a festive streaming paradise

Whether it’s leaving brandy, mince pies and carrots out for Santa and the reindeer or hanging stockings on the mantelpiece, Christmas is full of special moments for the little ones in your life. When worlds collide

This is always the perfect time of year to dive into the latest Marvel smash hit, especially if you missed it when it rst came out. Deadpool & Wolverine delivers all the high-stakes action and laugh-outloud gags you’d expect, especially in the hands of title character stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

Cooper’s novel is set in the champagneswilling, croquet-playing, double-crossing world of 1980s regional TV. Privileged politician and former equestrian star Rupert Campbell-Black, played by Alex Hassell, enjoys a bitter rivalry with Lord Tony Baddingham (David Tennant).

When Baddingham poaches hotshot journalist Declan O’Hara (Aidan Turner) to lead a dynamic new era for his Corinium channel, what will Rupert’s next move be? With a series of sensational supporting performances from Nafessa Williams, Katherine Parkinson, Danny Dyer, Bella Maclean, Emily Atack and Victoria Smur t, you’ll have a hell of a time nding out.

Kitchen sink drama

Disney+ is the place to nd many of the hottest series, none more so than FX’s The Bear. If you’ve yet to feast on this year’s highly anticipated third season, make a reservation this instant.

As ever, it’s all aided by the maddening, hilarious and downright lovable cast that also includes Ebon

The blockbuster begins with Wade Wilson working as a used car salesman, having dropped his Deadpool persona. But when his very existence is threatened by Mr Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen), he must drag a much-diminished Logan/ Wolverine into a erce ght against Charles Xavier’s mutant twin Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), who’s intent on destruction.

Then you can switch from inter-universe battles to ratings wars with new Disney+ original series Rivals. This riotous adaptation of Jilly

Moss-Bachrach, Jamie Lee Curtis, Abby Elliott, Oliver Platt, Olivia Colman and a sparky cameo from John Cena.

If you’re seeking more intrigue, jump from the frying pan into the replace with all four seasons of Only Murders in the Building and the charming trio, Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. The rst three instalments saw the true crime podcasters become real-life sleuths after some disturbing discoveries at their Arconia building, while the latest season began with a literal bang with the shooting of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch). Expect more star turns than you could shake a stick at, including Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Gali anakis and Melissa McCarthy to name a few.

Gather the troops

Disney+ still o ers plenty for the whole family to snuggle up in front of. Start with brand-new Star Wars:

Skeleton Crew, starring Jude Law and an impressive young cast. This prequel series, set after the events of Return of the Jedi, sees four kids in an epic coming-of-age quest to nd their way back to their home planet. Inside Out 2 is sure to give you all the feels, with this Pixar sequel nding Riley, now 13, entering high school just as Headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! And if you’re after a sweet, wholesome helping of childhood Christmas wonder, it can only be Home Alone. Rejoice with Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) as he realises his forgetful parents and antagonistic siblings have own to Paris for the holidays without him. Then revel in his fun-packed few days of bed-jumping, robber-thwarting mischief, with a few scares, bags of laughs and a touch of tenderness along the way.
