The project NOVA Galleria: An Innovative Shopping and Destination Center inclusive of Interactive and Multisensory Spaces, Located Mexico, Pampanga, intends to positively impact that aspect. It should promote the location as a focus for commercial activity in the municipality and operate as a convenient but pleasant commercial hub for visitors and locals.
Most commercial developments in Mexico, Pampanga are still range from small to medium enterprises, and some of them are located in floor-prone and traffic congested areas (Mexico, Pampanga Comprehensive Land Use Plan; 2017). It’s evident that the potential for commercial development of Mexico is underutilized, and the sole commercial development that can attract more residents, investors, tourists, and create a “commercial identity” of the municipality is still a missing piece.
That void is what this project, “NOVA Galleria: An Innovative Shopping and Destination Center inclusive of Interactive and Multisensory Spacesv” aims to fill. It should serve as convenient yet comfortable commercial hub for tourists and residents and promote the site as a nucleus for commercial activity in the municipality. It addresses the need for a fully utilized and maximized commercial space in the town through architecture while anticipating the effect of changing times through application of sustainable techniques and materials as well as post-pandemic approach in building design.
The name "NOVA" stems from the Latin word "NOVUS" which means NEW. This essentially encapulates the fundamental purpose of this study which is to reimagine and redefine the form of traditional retail spaces.
The proponents propose an interactive shopping mall and destination center that should serve as convenient yet comfortable commercial hub for tourists and residents and promote the site and its immediate vicinity as a nucleus for commercial activity in the town. it addresses the need for a fully utilized and maximized commercial space in the area through archtecture.
The artificial lake serves not only as an attraction to tourists and as a catch basin for storm water, but also as a cooling system when a hot summer breeze is present in the vicinity. Condensation will take place when hot winds move towards the site and transform the wind into a cool breeze that will make the atmosphere inside the vicinity neutral.

Interactive means "two people or things communicationg with influencing, or having an effect on each other." In this case, the concept of interactiveness branches out to two people-to-space interaction.
The design of the facade has linear patterns that creates sleak appearance even from a far distance. The materials used are perfect for sustainable features of the building and also helps the facade look more aesthetically pleasing for the people.
Considering the spaces of the shopping mall, recreational and experiential, and the BIG BOX, the proponents provided a detailed allocation of spaces and the process of the building's shape.
The Experiential spaces showcases different gadgets and technologies that allows you to experience them physically. User experience is the main goal of this space, to ensure the quality products to it’s users.
The LED Maze is one of the interactive spaces inside the mall. These 2.5 meter high acrylic glas LED maze functions as a labyrinth that helps you analize where to go and exit the area. The walls of these maze are touch sensitive, so when people touch it, it will light a laser like lights.
A new and modern designed Interactive mall with destination center in Mexico, Pampanga, one where economy starts to circulate and grow in a civilization, should provide people variety of products that they need without giving too much effort in physical interactions and providing entertainment at the same time. Beneficiaries of this project is not only for the rising economy of Mexico, but also for the individual end users
Both the province of Pampanga and the municipality of Mexico would be significantly impacted by this proposed project. Building a better community will be made easier with the practice of embracing sustainability and future-proofing as the major conceptual strategy.
The public park gravitates all spaces and encourages people to interact. It is designed to make people enjoy a public space and interact with other people at the same time.
The artificial lake does not only provides cooling effect to the site, but also gives people recreation by riding a kayak all around the lake.
Becoming an architect has always been her dream. Fatima, A 25 year young woman, always makes sure that she will submit all of the details of her life to God.

Ar. Darlene Mae M. Cunanan
is a graduate of Don Honorio Ventura State University in 2015. In 2017, she took and passed the Architecture Licensure Examination. She currently works full-time as an instructor at her alma mater.
She is now pursuing her master's degree in Architecture with an environmental architecture studio at the University of the Philippines- Diliman. Her research interest is assessment of thermal comfort in different situations.
