TEAMWORK, DREAM WORK An extraordinary accomplishment by the CDL Boring Division was witnessed firsthand by Jeff Dudley. “I recently traveled to Colorado to provide On-Track Safety oversight for job #RRPBN-576, a project performed for BNSF. What I observed on this project was nothing short of a remarkable level of execution, cohesion, and professionalism that I haven’t seen in many years, if ever. The crew assigned to this task was a blended team, consisting of two different established crews and one loaned team member from another division. Specifically, the team included:

• • • • •

Lucas Clifford Shawn Smith Jason Sohosky Les McDowell Jason Zwahlen (on loan from the High Voltage Division)

“In our industry, success hinges on accuracy and speed. This crew set a new benchmark for both.” Typically, assembling a group like this on short notice creates major challenges conflicting workflows, safety breakdowns, and communication gaps. But this crew defied those odds. They completed a complex project with both speed and precision, while maintaining full compliance with safety protocols. Lucas and Shawn provided outstanding leadership bringing together different work styles and aligning the team toward a common goal. Their approach reminded me of a well-rehearsed symphony or a perfectly executed game plan under a great coach. Every individual executed their role with purpose and pride, working like a true construction industry equivalent of Seal Team 6. I’m submitting a CORE Value Coin nomination for each of these five individuals under the values of Safety, People, Integrity, Accountability, and Excellence. Their performance not only deserves recognition, it deserves to be studied and modeled across CDL.”

-Jeff Dudley, Director of Flagging, Boring Division

SAFETY REMINDERS

As we move into the summer months, some key points for safety and maintenance for our CDL family. From Chuck Costello: • School is out so please be vigilant in and around neighborhoods, and be on your guard for more young drivers on the road. • Ensure we are doing our pre-trip inspections focusing on the coolant level and tires as we head into the hottest part of the year. • Ensure we are wearing our seat-belts and using hands free devices at all times so we are concentrating on driving to protect yourself and those around you. • As a reminder, pre-trip inspections are not optional and there is no smoking/vaping in company vehicles at any time. • Please take the time to clean your vehicles and equipment as this promotes a safe and professional environment as well as confidence for our customers that they are getting on the best service possible from a professional organization • When driving please drive responsibly and safely as you represent the company.

As always, if you have any questions or issues in regards to your vehicles and equipment please contact the transportation department through our group email and/or the shop phone.
