The volumetric disposition of the zoning was developed as seen. The central green is circumscribed by the skywalk at an elevated level connecting to each of the building masses, unifying the development as a whole.

TREE RETENTION DIAGRAM
Creating a urban green zone which ties the site to the context by creating a public space, by promoting sustainability and social responsibility. The podium level greens brings the site level green on G+2 level, providing enough room for surface parking and private hangout space for residents. After identifying the trees clusters, a strategy to retain the trees was devised, to design the pockets as urban garden, common gathering space for celebration , break out space in those pockets.

The hotel and service apartments sharing many facilities have been zoned together as one entity that caters to a population of 4000. The rooms and service apartments have been zoned near the corner of the site as the highest built providing views across the Hansraj Gupta Marg and temple park.
The creation of a high shopping street along the green corridor accentuates the shopping experience, while the south eastern end of the corridor houses the multiplex complex and gaming zone. In the office block, along with the given public and private office components , leisure facilities and eateries were arranged strategically to complement the breakout spaces. The lower levels are taken up by support services and retail components to allow for public access. Following the design drivers, this arrangement for the housing programme was derived- with Social infrastructure and various retail and public functions zoned at the lower floors. And Housing units placed in a tower-like built form.

THE SPINNER
International Cricket Stadium, Ghaziabad
The spinner is a stadium design that has arisen from the very concept of spin of a ball. The idea was to incorporate the very dynamism a spinning ball has to the entire structure as well as the internal spaces. The roof, facade and seating structure all follow the very ball spin geometry.
To integrate this effect, the stadium structure follows the tensegrity model. The roof is made of tensile fabric that has been stretched over secondary steel members that are suspended from the primary truss. The 3 truss members are held together in position by steel cables that have been pulled in tension. Similarly, the structure also innovates in circulation, by ramping internal aisles.

The internal spaces have been designed giving consideration to light and shadow, and a play with the skin so as to make the structure itself the aesthetic element in the stadium. The inner podium and gallery levels experience the very interplay of the facade, structure and seating bowl, to create a dynamic and enlivening experience. The concept of the spin of ball is further carried on even in the very details of the internal space created.

THE GREEN RISE
High Rise - Barakhamba Road
The brief required to design a multiuse high rise structure catering to : Retail, Office, and Residential, in the heart of the city, Barakhamba Road. Green Rise is a high rise structure that has evolved from the very context, yet making a bold statement of the future to come , and has been carefully designed to ensure green and a unique experience for every individual. The structure has been born from the very concept of cracking open of old to reveal the new inside. The concrete facades parallel to the street scapes continue the street elevation and symbolize the old tradition, while the center, that cracks up into a green haven shows what to expect next. The building has been split into three parts as per its usage both horizontally as well as vertically.

SITE PLAN

TYPICAL OFFICE PLAN TYPICAL RESIDENTIAL PLAN
The office floor plan changes every floor , creating new combinations of green, and interconnections of two blocks. The split pattern changes throughout levels, yet are connected. The south west and south east facades are green facades, while the North east and North west facades are concrete facades with multiple openings to ensure maximum inlet of light. The floors are connected through panoramic elevators and foam glass bridges. The residential floors are at the topmost levels of the tower ensuring privacy. Further the apartments are clustered around a central court, so as to bring about maximum social interaction amongst fellow residents. The residences being wraped around the edges forms a interior intimate space including green patches and internal corridors, so that despite being at the city center, the residents could have their own intimate space away from the hustle bustle.

VIEW A

DRAIN AND MEDIUM CHANNEL BAMBOO TRELLIS AND CREEPERS
THE GREEN FACADES

The inner facades of the office levels are wraped with semi transparent green facades so as to inlet light into the office as well as provide the view of green to those sitting inside. The attempt was to incorporate greens to the higher storeys. The large terraces become breakout spaces for offices where all the public activities take place.

The main idea of the entire form being craking open to greens, the green facade and the green terraces are essential making the new statement of vertical greens, in the streetscape. The street facades of the structure, the north west and south west, have thick concrete walls with fenestration designed such that it only allows north and south light to enter barring the east and west lights, eliminating any need for further external shading.

DESERT RESEARCH CENTER
Research Center, Jaisalmer
The brief required to design a desert research center, inside the jaisalmer fort, amidst the dense historically and culturally rich setting. The Design also required us to protect and use the ruins as well as the dilapidated staircase already existing in the site. The Desert Research Center, is a contemporary design solution, taking care of exhibition, education, research, conference and cafeteria facilities. The design is a self shading form that creates shade for itself as well as the surrounding areas, and is an iconic architectural insert on site.

GROUND FLOOR PLAN

DESERT RESEARCH CENTER
The research center design has evolved on the following principles :
1. SELF SHADING FORM - The main issue while designing in a desert is to take care of shading from the scorching sun outside. So, the design is such that, the form shades itself, without need of any external shading device.
2. EXTERNAL SHADE CREATION - External shades are created below the angled walls, which are used as cafeteria spillout as well as places to sit and relax in the exteriors.
3. MATERIAL USAGE - The design uses yellow sandstone that has been used throughout the fort premises, along with glass in areas requiring transparency and light inlet.
4. CENTRAL COURT - The design blocks create a small central courtyard, as per most of the traditional houses, to ensure proper flow of wind and light. The court is small with a large tree in the center, so as to prevent sand flooding in during sandstorms.
5. EXISTING STAIRCASE - The large staircase existing on the site is used as the circulation for the museum and exhibition block, it itself also being a exhibit in itself. FIRST FLOOR PLAN

SECOND FLOOR PLAN

PHYSICAL MODEL VIEW
6. GALLERY - The design incorporates a gallery that wraps around the site frontage, connecting to the block of ruins. The gallery has a row of stone walls diagonally placed, so as to ensure northlight and transparency so as the display can be a public exhibit, and make the center more permeable to the people outside. And the gallery is also the first look in the visitor has while crossing the streets.
7. REPETITION - The blocks follow a repititous pattern with the same geometry being scaled, so as to ensure harmony and design coherence within the multitude of parts in the center.

CASA DE DALI
Studio cum Vacation Home
The intent was to design a studio cum vacation home for the artist you aspired. I chose Salvador Dali, as the artist I would like to design for, using his very principles of Surrealism. Salvador Dali a leading pioneer of Surrealism, as well as an extravagant and animate a character couldn’t be confined within the conventional linear architecture, and needed something more dynamic, open and a sculpture that stood out among the rest. Keeping in mind his affinity for public attention, I have also provided for a public component in the complex, where he could, present his work, or even better himself working. All in all, the entire design is supposed to be a playhouse for Dali to experiment, work as well as entertain himself all at one place.

GROUND FLOOR PLAN

The north portion with maximum glass screen, is devoted as the studio for the artist - Dali to paint, as well as display his works to the public gathered. Keeping in mind the extravagant nature of the client, I have dedicated large space for the studio, where he can spread out and work, and also get his muse when needed. FIRST FLOOR PLAN

ROOF FLOOR PLAN The floor plan is designed so as to be split into two unequal parts, the living and the work area. The two parts come together through an interconnecting platform shaded by tensile fabric overhead. Dali was a show-off and loved public attention, hence I have tried to incorporate a public connection in the site, where he can display and flaunt off his works and working both. The eggshell has intelligent glass surface in parts, which can be switched on and off to ensure privacy whenever needed.
The butterfly emerging from the egg, i.e. the tensile fabric shading the intermediate space between the two blocks creates a pleasant space to come out and relax in the open, a good place to think of new ideas, and reconnect with the natural elements.
DESIGNED FOR : ARTIST SALVADOR DALI

PERSPECTIVE VIEW

Butterfly emerging from an egg. As surreal as it sounds, this house was designed to complement and host the very famous artist Salvador Dali. Dali was fond of the structure and form of eggs and often used it as inspiration throughout his works, and similarly, I have also taken egg as an inspiration for the entire form. The form is a cracked egg, with water flowing between the two halves.

INTROSPHERE
Residence - Patel Nagar
The brief required to design a residence in a rectangular plot of 10 X 19 m, housing a family of 3 with one visiting member. The family consisted of a father who is a househusband that loves to cook, wife a traveller and a film buff daughter still in school. The residence is an inward looking structure, where the internal spaces and their merging with the exterior tries to impersonate the character of those within. The interior creates a sphere of its own with lots of green, open spaces and double heighted spaces. Further the design corresponds to the context fabric in the very form facing them. The design aims reconnect those within as well as around through the elements used.

The Design is a confluence of different geometries, corresponding to different requirements and corresponding street facades.
The design is an inward looking design with the idea of entering into greens and open court rather than entering into closed indoor spaces directly. The living room and kitchen blend into the courtyard.
The central court has a green tree and curved staircase connecting all storeys.
The entrance is a narrowing passage like a funnel, from out to in.
The house is situated in Patel Nagar, in a corner plot, and aims to fulfill the lack of greens outside by supplementing them inside.
FATHER MOTHER DAUGHTER

Loves cooking : - Large Kitchen - Kitchen in ground floor - Kitchen Garden right outside - Near the entry, to facilitate cooking profession and delivery. Travels a lot, - Large circular bedroom, for relaxation whenever she comes back home. - Bedroom with balcony angled to the best view in the area, and a lot of green. Movie Buff, - Room designed so as to act as a home theatre as well and in the same floor as the guest room. - Room placed in the intermediary floor.

ARCADIA
Residence For Individual
The project was to design the ultimate fit for an individual client, which happened to be one of our classmates. Arcadia, located atop a rainforest, aims to offer luxuriously dynamic spaces that are at the very core of the nature, amalgamating the best of both. Arcadia is an elegant model, for how everyday living could be a more thrilling and adventurous experience amidst the natural surroundings, yet not disconnected from the technology and lavish ideals for living we uphold. Thus to summarize, yes this place is the perfect have it all.

INTERNAL VIEW A The Arcadia is a playful residence designed for the client keeping in mind all his interests, likes and dislikes. The house being in a rainforest has slantted roof and walls to ensure proper drainage of water and prevent inflow of water during raining, being located at the very center of a rainforest.

The residence is suspended from high tension steel cables from the surrounding emergent trees, at a height of 33.5 Ms above ground level. The residence is hidden to the rest with the cliff acting as the barrier, ensuring privacy and secrecy.
The cliff has car accessibility, from which the client can descend down to the residence which is a chain of experiences.
The major attraction of the rainforest is the view and I have tried to ensure maximum inflow of light through usage of glass, and give the interiors a warm and natural outlook with the usage of wood that blends with the natural surrounding as well.
Arcadia a dynamic chain of experiences provides an enriching environment to the client.

THE PARASITE
Private Pod
The first design project in architecture college, the parasite was a personal getaway attached to the main college building itself. The design was supposed to be a concise space to take care of living and working, with the college building taking care of the toilet and food requirements, and without disrupting the studio functions. The parasite was a intimate add on that I visualised as what my getaway would be like. The pod ideates from my very personality traits being an amalgamation of introverted as well as extroverted.

Being a personal bubble, i wanted to make the pod compact yet one where you could move around. The upper portion at the terrace level is an intimate space to work and relax, while the split floor at lower level is an extension merging with the surroundings, giving a surreal experience of hanging in the air. The same form unites the very grounded and intimate space to the suspended extension.
The openings have been strategically placed so as to ensure view of the stars in the sky while sleeping, as well as plentiful north light on the drafting table, and reading space.

TULSI DAS DHARAMSHALA
Settlement Study - Panchavati
The Nasik-Panchavati settlement has developed along the banks of the river Godawari owing to its religious significance. Tulsidas Narayan Das Dharamshala was one of the significant dilapidated structure that we were given to analyse and study. We were to decode the structure, and development of the dharamshala in this area and analyse its transformations in working over the years. Studying the layers of this building that have developed gave us great insight on the cultural as well as social values of then and now. The study was an architectural and cultural travel to the past attempting to understand the development of the current fabric.

SHORTLISTED (Ongoing)
PAVILION TWO LEAVES
Pavilion Design for a terrace of an institute in Delhi
Pavilion Two Leaves is a volume inspired by the gentle leaf forms fallen on ground, superimposed together to create shelter with a fascinating variability of spaces catering to varying weather conditions. The parametric structure inspired by natural forms is realized by steel sections and terracotta tiles to create a peaceful and sustainable abode for all. Pavilion Two leaves was inspired by the sight of an ant taking shelter below fallen leaves. The leaves in their complete organic and effortless manner were creating the perfect shelter that was aesthetic, structurally stable and optimum for the ant’s use. The very same concept has been scaled up and represented in the simplest of ways.

FRONT ELEVATION CONCEPT EVOLUTION

Inspired by the shelter created by fallen leaves , the pavilion design was realized through the geometry of a paper strip wraped around a cone. This simple geometry has been manipulated and transformed to create a variety of spaces of varying scales and degree of shading. The roof form itself blends into entries, as well as seating spaces for all the users. The pavilion is a fun and interactive space which takes care of peoples needs through seasons all year round. The terracotta tiles with the steel structure can also act as a base for creepers to integrate nature and further emphasize on the sustainability of the pavilion.
STRUCTURE
The structure has three layers, a primary steel structure, secondary steel reinforcements and a tertiary skin of Terracotta Tiles.

VIEW FROM ENTRY

INTERIOR VIEW DURING WINTERS The pavilion can be divided into two parts, the major one is shaded and provides gathering space for 20 people. The minor half is more private and open to sky, and it provides levelled seating space for a small group of people.

MODULARITY
The same tile module has been used all throughout the pavilion, with varying overlapping distances to optimise the skin. Using standard tile modules makes construction and material procurement much easier. The terracotta also provides an earthen look to the pavilion.
SEASONAL VARIATION
The steel members exposed, due to breaks in terracotta tile bands filter in sunlight in winters. In the summer and monsoon, these exposed steel bands act as bolter structures for growth of creepers and flowers, that shade up the interiors as well as provide a vibrant seasonal variation.

Sculpture - Competition
The competition required to design a sculpture honoring one of the masters of architecture - Frank O Gehry. The Gehry Relic, emphasizes on the principles and style used by the him throughout his life. His prolific works were mainly based on marine related objects deconstructed. This sculpture shows the reminiscinces of a ship which can be discovered as the treasury of Gehry’s work. The concept of shipwreck developed from the idea of something yet to be found and eternal.

PSYCHED
Installation in Goa, Competition
The competition organized by Reroute, Reroute Goa , wanted us to design an installation or something that depicted our impression of Goa. This installation was an interactive interface, inspired by the psychedlic experience many have in Goa. The installation was a configuration of free flowing form tunnels, making up a maze, with each opening leading to a different ending, yet confluencing at the same central node.
A recent trip to Goa, as an experience was conceived to be an installation, where in the emotions felt when one is ecstatic, can be induced into people as they walk through a channel, that ultimately leads to the center which is an open atrium.
The open atrium is symbolic of the penultimate magnitudes of emotions perceived, before a final descent to sobriety taken while exiting through another channel.
