Ideation 5: Us

Target Users: Anyone interested in hearing my personal experience of nature.

Function: There will be four different sets of nature around the room. People will be able to enter each set, shaped like conch. And then crawl inside the conch shaped set. And when they enter, they will be able to vividly hear sounds of the set. (eg. river, mountain, ocean, plains, etc) And they will be able to visually see the projection of those places projected on the sides of the set.

Inspiration: I was inspired by a conch. I remember vividly how each conch sounded differently and I remember collecting them and bringing them back home. And when I put my ears on the conch again, the memories of the place flew right back into me like a crashing wave.

Devices: Foam board, speakers, projectors (a lot), spray paintv

Creating various shapes using Animation snapshots and Motion paths.

Creating different shapes using Maya and Ableton.

All the shapes and objects will change it’s size and shape according to the sound and beat created in Ableton.

Creating faster interactions using clearer sound beats using Ableton and Maya.

First time animating the final project using Maya and simple extrude options.

1. Created a series of PNG files in Premiere Pro

2. Assorted the names of the PNG files using Fast stone.

3. Input and render it using Syntheyes.

4. Transfer the Syntheyes file to ASCII file and put it into Maya

5. Add intestine figures according to the rendered background.

Phase 9

Adding textures and more animations based on the augmented sapce.

I’ve changed the lung to distinguish between the intestine colors.

The intestine will coil around the telephone pole and around the intestine while changing shape and size.
