Breakout Blueprint: Where Purpose Resides

Where Purpose Resides

Make this your declaration: “From here on out, I WILL live from the center of my purpose!” You’re no longer satisfied with guessing at what you’re meant to do or having only scratched the surface of how you’re really created to impact others Deciphering your purpose with as much specificity as possible will give you the freedom to move more confidently into any space, knowing you’re always in the right place at the right time. It will also help you in your decision-making and project-planning. Most importantly, it will make you more…purposeful! Once you know your purpose, you can learn to walk more powerfully in it. Because you’ve done the responsible work of uncovering and getting crystal clear on your purpose, many moments that have been literally waiting on the sidelines for you to have this epiphany will start moving towards you because now you’re prepared and ready to handle them Get ready for clarity like you’ve never had and a sense of urgency that will serve as focus, fuel and direction from here on out!

Breathe. Decide in advance you’re going to have fun with this and not be anxious, desperate or frustrated. You’ve been living a long time not knowing your exact purpose and you’ve gotten along just fine. This is a moment you’re having that’s going to upgrade you, but it won’t make or break you, so don’t put unnecessary pressure or stress on this. HINT: Even after you do this will continue to come for weeks, months and even years after! Be okay with that.

Believe. Believe NOW that you WILL discover your purpose, and it will become clearer to you than ever before. Understand this realization may stretch you more than expected and it may play with your fixed identity up to this point Believe NOW you can handle that Believe that this ady opening doors that have been waiting on you to walk through them.

Buckle Up. Get ready for the feeling I like to call “zooming.” Zooming will feel like suddenly doors are opening and things you are working on seem to catch fire. Your eyes and heart will be open to some adventure where your personal relationships and profession is concerned. Get ready for new experiences and opportunities to come your way and plan to say YES a large majority u see your newfound purpose written all over those new things.

Don’t get “married.” These answers may shift for a few days or weeks, allow that. Don’t get married to any of the new words or demographics you’re fleshing out. Stay flexible. As you work, when you’re away from the worksheets, you’ll begin to get more clarity. You’ll have encounters with people that give you aha moments that may change the work you started and shift things, or further crystallize some things. Allow that.

WherePurposeResides

Do the work! Enjoy the Journey! Embrace the Discovery! You’ll notice you have to keep writing the same thing over and over. That’s because you need to leave room for your purpose statement to change as you go, until you settle on all the right words. HINT: Years later, you’ll still be your purpose and some parts of the statement will continue to clarify.

Be able to complete this Purpose Paragraph by using your own words or some of the suggested words in the word banks. Be mindful not to just use words you like the sound of or words you think make sense for your profession, industry or station in life. Listen to your heart and do an analysis of what has gone down in your past and how you have impacted others in your life thus far. This will help you choose or find your own words for the exercise.

This paragraph starts in simple form and continues to expand until you get to the most specified version of your purpose.

Jade’s Sample Purpose Paragraph VERSION #1

In version 1, the main focus is on finding your “home verb.” What is the action you are taking towards others, how are you impacting them. Secondly, we’re discovering what it is that happens IN THEM when you do what you do. Remember, your purpose is not the thing you do, it’s the thing that happens in others when you do what you do It’s deeper than a surface level reaction For instance, this is NOT my purpose:

“My purpose is to play the piano and make people happy.”

That’s too simplistic and it’s too temporal. That happiness won’t last when they leave the concert hall Your purpose is more complex and it has eternal implications for the people you encounter They are changed in a major way because of your presence and they even pass on what they got from you to others they love and care about. That’s heeeeuge! We want to discover what THAT is.

Version1: When I am in operation, I tend to ACTIVATE (people) to BECOME THE BIGGEST VERSION OF THEMSELVES POSSIBLE.

Your Turn:

When I am in operation, I tend to (people) to . (*do something, become something, deal with something, have a certain epiphany, make a certain move or shift in thinking or behavior, etc )

*If you have trouble here, look back at what usually happens for people when you give them advice or help them in some way. That will give you a clue.

WherePurposeResides

hat some of these words would require you to change the word “to” to t’s ok in some cases. But be careful that you are not doing the work FOR them to do it for themselves. For instance, your purpose is not to “Break indsets”, your purpose would more likely be to “empower others to break out of harmful mindsets.” Get it?

Jade’s Sample Purpose Paragraph VERSION #2

In version 2, we’re now going to get more specific at WHO you are called to serve. Serving doesn’t have to look like traditional acts of service or charity work. Trust that your unique gifts provide a service in some way shape or form. Here’s the big point, you are not called to serve EVERYONE! It’s humanly impossible and will leave you scattered, distracted, confused and depleted. We want to tap into a very specific group who uniquely benefits from you being you. Hint: You’ve already been helping these people, they are likely drawn to you. Take stock at who comes to you for advice or guidance already, who is already in your audience? They often look like you BEFORE you received a certain level of help or clarity. They often have some of your same struggles, but you may be further along at solving them. They often aspire to a life like yours or at least want some of what you have in you as a person. You share some traits and experiences. Your personal story (and the methods you used to overcome, power through, excel, triumph, etc.) will directly apply to how you can help them.

Note: I also got more specific on exactly what I’m helping my demographic become.

Jade’s Sample Purpose Paragraph VERSION #3

We are going to dig deeper into what happens in people when they come in contact with you. We want to figure out the most specific outcomes you help bring about. All those verbs you had a hard time choosing between in the beginning of the exercise may come into play now. You don’t have to fill all 3 verbs, use them if you need to. It’s ok if you only have one sentence to add here. If you add more than one, be sure it’s truly in line with your first purpose statement. These activities have to organically spring from that main statement.

Version 3: When I am in operation, I tend to ACTIVATE (HIGHLY MOTIVATED VISIONARIES) to BECOME THE BIGGEST, MOST PURPOSE-BASED VERSION OF THEMSELVES POSSIBLE. I CHALLENGE them to REDEFINE PURPOSE. I INSPIRE them to De-Compartmentalize their personality, talents, and faith. I also TEACH them the art of preparing and positioning for big breakthrough.

Jade’s Sample Purpose Paragraph VERSION #4

In version 4, we are going to start calling your operation what it truly is...your purpose! We’re also adding your Purpose Vehicles to the mix. These are the actual activities you do to create the reaction you’re called to cause. These verbs are usually the things we mistake for purpose. That’s why we feel confused when we can do more than one thing because we don’t know which one is our purpose. None of them are your purpose, they are the vehicles that carry your purpose to the destinations and demographics you’re called to serve. There is room for up to three vehicles. Don’t feel the need to have 3. If you have more than 3, Try right now to limit yourself to your top 3. These should be ways you are already behaving and possibly a new direction you are feeling a strong urge to go into.

Here in version 4a, we’re getting more and more specific about how our vehicles present themselves. Come back to this version later once you’re even more clear about who you serve and what happens in them. That knowledge will help you streamline or expand your activities here. Jade’s Sample Purpose Paragraph VERSION #5

This is where you’ll begin to validate your purpose and the calling on your life by looking back to see what behavior you’ve been engaged in that has brought you good results. You might not have noticed before now that you’ve always been doing this, it comes second nature to you or you seem to find yourself in a certain type of situation often and you’ve always had an answer or a method that worked for it. Other people are often shocked by how you do this, find it interesting, admire it or are even amazed by it. Some part of your life (your career, family, the way people respond to you, how they describe you, your accolades, achievements, how you have overcome trials) should be an expression of that habit of behavior.

This section is more about helping you see you were always made to behave this way, more than proving to others that you are qualified. We sometimes think status, education, income and other “success markers” qualify us to do big work, but that’s not true. The very essence of who you were always designed to be, the work you have done to this point, the successes and especially the failures, your life story itself uniquely qualifies ONLY YOU to do what you are called to do.

Version 5: My Purpose is to ACTIVATE (HIGHLY MOTIVATED VISIONARIES) to BECOME THE BIGGEST, MOST PURPOSE-BASED VERSION OF THEMSELVES POSSIBLE. I CHALLENGE them to REDEFINE PURPOSE. I INSPIRE them to De-Compartmentalizetheir personality, talents, and faith. I also TEACH them the art of preparing and positioning for big breakthrough. I do this by way of PERFORMING UNIQUE CONCERT ADVENTURES, DELIVERING UNEXPECTEDLY ENTERTAINING KEYNOTES,UNCOMMONLYENLIGHTENING SERMONS, LIFE-ALTERING COACHINGS and WRITING PROVOCATIVE, MINDSET SHIFTING CONTENT AND BOOKS.

I'm most qualified to do this because I've made a habit of CONSTANTLY EXPANDING INTO NEW, MORE POWERFUL VERSIONS OF MYSELF. My PERSONAL LIFE and CAREER are an expression of that habit.

Your Turn:

My Purpose is to ________________________________________(___________________) to . I them to . I them to . I also them to . I do this by way of , , and .

“People” (optional 2nd example here)

I'm most qualified to do this because I've made a habit of ______________________________ My (and ) is/are an expression of that habit.

Jade’s Sample Purpose Paragraph VERSION #5a

In this section, expound on the last sentence to further validate proof that your behavior has been effective. Again, you can come back to this detail later the clearer you become on your purpose and demographic.

Version 5a: My Purpose is to ACTIVATE (HIGHLY MOTIVATED VISIONARIES) to BECOME THE BIGGEST, MOST PURPOSE-BASED VERSION OF THEMSELVES POSSIBLE. I CHALLENGE them to REDEFINE PURPOSE. I INSPIRE them to De-Compartmentalize their personality, talents, and faith. I also TEACH them the art of preparing and positioning for big breakthrough. I do this by way of PERFORMING UNIQUE CONCERT ADVENTURES, DELIVERING UNEXPECTEDLY ENTERTAINING KEYNOTES, UNCOMMONLY ENLIGHTENING SERMONS, LIFE-ALTERING COACHINGS and WRITING PROVOCATIVE, MINDSET SHIFTING CONTENT AND BOOKS.

I'm most qualified to do this because I've made a habit of CONSTANTLY EXPANDING INTO NEW, MORE POWERFUL VERSIONS OF MYSELF. My PERSONAL LIFE and CAREER are an expression of that habit. *Over time, I’ve organically expanded to wife, mother, mentor, minister which has enriched me personally and allowed me to care and impact others. In my career, my expansions as professional speaker, author and coach have added new income streams, allowed me to cross into new industries which has increased my impact, broadened my influence and elevated my income exponentially.

Your Turn:

My Purpose is to ________( __________________) to ________________________________________________________________________ .

My (and ) is/are an expression of that habit.

From here: Add a few lines in your own words describing how your behavior has proven successful in minor and major ways, tangible and intangible outcomes. Don’t feel pressure to write something impressive here, just write something truthful. There is no small answer.
