Proposal of Study Project Topic and Importance When it comes down to it, whether we advertise it or not, most hair salons are segregated by specializing in one specific race. Most people have gone to a hair salon at some point in their life or can at least relate the struggles that go along with maintaining healthy hair. My intent is to create a hair salon that delivers a personalized experience catered to all hair needs regardless of hair type, ethnicity, or gender all while using clean products as a way of promoting appropriate hair care tailored to each customer. There are also an infinite amount of topics to expand on. A few examples being equality, hair chemistry, culture differences, or safe products. The relatability and infinite possibilities of expansion make the nature of the idea appropriate as the subject of a project.

I plan to focus of how to make the business appeal to all people by creating an inviting atmosphere through a user-friendly, informative website, welcoming patterns and logo marks, and advertising capturing the diverse nature of the company. My project will shine a new light on our perception of race by defying stereotypical barriers whether that be with color, copy, or illustrations. This subject matter will be more personified than my previous projects and will push me to learn more about advertising. It will push me to consider concepts more in depth and to fully flesh out my collateral.

Methodology My plan is to gather information visually through books and style research and verbally by talking to people of different backgrounds on their personal experiences. In order to generate solutions I intend to research other successful brands that focus being neutral and open to all people while working together with my classmates to push each others ideas to be successful.

My study will be more interactive because its important to know how real people feel towards this issue in order to make it relevant today. This project is unique because of the lack of this type of salon locally and nationally. It could make so many people lives so much easier if they
