The assignment was to create and brand a 36 page trade journal. “Alter” is a trade journal about beauty alterations targeted towards beauticians, makeup artists, estheticians, plastic surgeons, and other fields of beauty alterations.

Each issue utilizes a different “highlight” color, Issue One being Magenta.

The client is the Department of Dance from the School of Performing and Visual Arts at the University of Southern Mississippi. They were in need of a branding system for their bi-annual recruiting event, High School Dance Day, that would remain unique to that specific departmental event and that they could use year after year. They requested it to convey movement and grace, as well as use natural earth tones. To fullfil their needs, I created a type system that could easily be updated with the correct information that changes each year. I also designed a logo with a limited color pallet that could easily change over the years to fit the needs of the department.

The assignment was to create and brand an event in an assigned city, as well as create a hand bound brand guide detailing each aspect of the brand and how it can be used. “Helping Humans” is a conference and charity event based in Indianapolis, Indiana that’s purpose is to help bring awareness to the homeless in the Indianapolis community and to educate the community on how they can better help the homeless. The brand utilizes three bold colors, halftoned images and textures, and brickwork typography to symbolized building relationships with others and also to relate back to the Yard of Bricks on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Accepted into the National Student Show Out of Home Category 2020

The client is the Department of Dance from the School of Performing and Visual Arts at the University of Southern Mississippi. They requested for something energetic, bright, and dynamic that would bring in members of the community as well as college students.

The assignment was to re-design an already existing e-commerce website and adapt the design so it can be experienced on all three screens. The assignment was to pick a trilogy from a provided list, read all three books, and re-design the covers while also creating three additional elements that would add to the brand of the series. Inspiration was taken from Saul Bass to create the book jacket designs, box set, and poster, and the end pages are designed using a map of Barcelona, where the book series takes places.

The assignment was to create and brand an exotic restaurant that would be opening in the U.S. based on an assigned country as well as create a hand bound look-book for potential investors to be able experience the brand and what it expresses. “Saboroso” is a Brazilian style restaurant that uses bright colors and bold illustrations and patterns to bring Brazil to their customers. The postcards that feature illustrations of birds that are native to Brazil are takeaways that are given to customers with their bill to leave a lasting impression and give them a little bit of Brazil to take home with them.

The Garden Club is a women’s social club that offers a multi-purpose home base for getting things done or recharging and not doing much at all—a place where women can work and connect while they take on the world.

The bold tone of voice is offset by a look and feel that is simultaneously scholarly, elegant and feminine.

This project is a senior capstone/research project that was completed to recieve a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Southern Mississippi.
