BEDROOMS OF THE LATE TWENTIETH CENTURY emphasized texture and warm colors with bed frames that ranged from extravagant to simplistic.
FURNITURE
Windows were draped in thick curtains covered in bold patterns.
Bedroom sets, or matching furniture, occupied the room. Additional color and texture were brought in through textiles and decor.
WALLS
Dressers and other storage held a more prominent place in bedrooms before walk-inclosets became the norm.

MATERIALS
Tile was very small or very large and went from the floor to the ceiling. Beige was the color of choice, although many variations of the shade could be seen in even the smallest of rooms.
It seems there could never be enough light in the bathroom, from sconces and vanity lights to recessed lights and hanging pendants.
Large tubs and showers were prominent features and boasted sharp angles for which ‘80s design was known.
A mix of many materials came into play, including wood, ceramics, tiles, and glass.
WINDOW COVERINGS
Wallpaper was often chosen over paint and covered all four walls of the room.
WHILE THE FUNCTION OF A BATHROOM IS ALWAYS AT THE CENTER of its design, the way in which that function is presented has undergone lots of change.
